Jason's casual coolness broke through the awkward tension as he said, “I've
seen Estrella at her best and her worst, so no need to sweat it on her behalf,
Logan.”
Logan lifted his gaze, perplexed by what Jason had just said. What was he
getting at? Could it be that Jason and Estrella had crossed a professional line?

must be upheld.”
Estrella had kept their relationship under wraps, and Jason understood why.
Flaunting her status as Mrs. Nelson could cloud her judgment and shield her
from the raw realities of the workplace. It was why he took the time to clarify
things with Logan now.
“Mr. Jason, rest assured, we run a tight ship here at the firm,” Logan said with a
sheepish grin. “We didn’t press Estrella on personal matters when she joined us.
That was an oversight.”

Reflecting on the fact that Estrella had just graduated when she came on board,
Logan realized they had verified her resume but hadn't thought to check her
marital status. Now, it all made sense.
As Jason was about to wake Estrella up, she stirred and opened her eyes on her
own. Spotting Logan by the window, she instantly became alert. “Logan,” she
acknowledged.
