Rachel chuckled. There was a hint of mockery in her eyes. “What’s the value of an abandoned pawn worth the Shain family
taking the risk for?”
Old Mr. Shain had made his stance clear ever since he left.
Why would Old Mr. Shain risk his entire family’s future for Hannah if he had chosen to give her up?
Hannah staggered and almost fell to the ground when she heard that.
That’s right. Now the Shain family had dumped her. Why would they risk offending the Johnson family to protect her?
