Chapter 533 +15 BONUS
Kirk got a call from Charles not long after Caroline left. Howard had come to the company to see Kirk. Kirk’s gaze darkened
when he remembered the information he had received from the investigation yesterday. It turned out that Jane had ordered
those scumbags to rob Caroline. What was more, Jane and Daphne had been working together to cause Caroline a lot of trouble
recently. Those two women had violated the agreement he made with Howard. “I’m heading over now,” said Kirk. “Okay.” Charles
hung up and went to the reception area after getting confirmation from Kirk. “Mr. Collins, he’ll be here shortly.” Howard couldn’t
hide the smile on his face. “Alright. I’ll be waiting right here.” Charles nodded and left the room. About half an hour later, Kirk
arrived at the company and strode into the reception area. He narrowed his eyes at the sight of Howard. He was about to speak
when Howard, oblivious to the danger that was to come, handed him a letter of invitation. “Mr. Kirk, my wife’s celebrating her
birthday the day after tomorrow. I’m here today to invite you. I hope that you’ll spare some time to attend her birthday party.”
“Birthday?” Kirk glanced at the invitation letter before him and fell silent. A moment later, he took the letter and scanned through
its contents. Abruptly, he smiled and said, “So your wife’s birthday is on the day after tomorrow?” “Yes.” Howard looked eager.
He was still very much unaware of the change in Kirk’s attitude. “You’ll make time for it, right?” “Certainly.” Kirk tossed the letter
onto his desk and added, “I’ll prepare a huge gift for her, too.” +15 BONUS Howard couldn’t stop himself from beaming when he
heard that. “That’s not necessary. It’s our honor to have you attend the birthday banquet.” Kirk smirked. “I have one condition,
though. There can’t be any reporters or journalists at the banquet.” “Don’t worry. I know that you’re very low–key and that you
don’t want others to see your face. I’ll get rid of every single reporter within a ten–mile radius on the day of the banquet.” Howard
continued, “I’ll ask all the other clans that will be present to watch their words too.” Kirk put his legs on the table. “Okay. You may
leave now.” “Okay,” Howard replied, satisfied that he had achieved his goal. After watching him leave, Charles stopped behind
Kirk and asked, “Sir, about the car accident ... “Aren’t you afraid that the person behind it will take action again if you expose
yourself now? We haven’t found out who that person is.” “We’ve looked into this for so long yet failed to get any bit of
information. It could only mean that the person behind this has backup. They won’t take action again if I don’t reveal my identity.”
“Are you making yourself the bait, then?” Kirk hummed in response. “But what about the madam?” “If she finds out, we’ll just tell
her that I’m Eddy’s second uncle’s representative,” said Kirk. “After all, the only ones in Easton who know what I truly look like
are those in the Morrison family. וו Charles smiled. “Pretending to be someone else when that person is yourself... It’s an
excellent idea!” Suddenly, Kirk’s expression darkened. “It wouldn’t take up much time, anyway.” “Why?” Charles asked,
confused. “Because I’ll leave the Morrisons behind very soon.” 2/3 Charles was still puzzled, but Kirk didn’t care to explain
further. He simply picked up the invitation letter on his desk and stared at it, his gaze dark and intimidating. +15 BONUS When
Caroline arrived at the office, Cheryl looked like she was about to explode if she couldn’t get a piece cí gossip out of her,
“Caroline, why are you so late?” Caroline usually arrived way earlier than all of her employees. She lowered her head at Cheryl’s
question as a blush crept up her cheeks. “Huh? Why are you blushing?” Cheryl looked as though she had just discovered a
prehistoric fossil. “Tell me, have you and your husband reconciled?” “Don’t be a busybody,” Caroline retorted. Today’s Bonus
