Newton's expression stiffened slightly. "What are you talking about? Both you and Jasper are my grandsons. I cherish you both."
Justin quipped, "I'm just joking, Grandpa. I know you care about me."
At this moment, the door of a luxurious MPV opened, and a graceful figure stepped out.
"Mr. Justin, the parking lot is chilly. You shouldn't stay out here for too long." With her words, Sheryl bent down and gently placed a blanket over Justin's knees.
Javier looked at the unfamiliar woman. "Who is this?"
"This is Sheryl Gillis, my personal assistant. She's the one diligently taking care of me in Mosgravia. As you can see, I'm basically useless." Justin's fist pressed lightly against his pale lips as he coughed.
"Justin, you're my cherished son. How can you call yourself useless? Don't belittle yourself. Your body has improved a lot compared to before. You'll definitely get better with treatment." Javier showed rare patience.
He then looked at Sheryl with gratitude. "Thank you for taking care of Justin, Ms. Gillis."
"You're too kind, Mr. Javier. Taking care of Mr. Justin is my duty." Sheryl smiled sweetly.
As Jasper gazed at her beautiful face, his expression darkened.
Even from six feet away, his keen senses could detect the faint scent of orchids emanating from her.
Noticing his gaze, Sheryl smiled gently.
Alyssa caught that and couldn't help but bite her lip, feeling a pang of jealousy.
"Dad, can I go see Lauren?" Justin's brow furrowed, showing concern. "I'm also her brother. I'm really worried about her."
Sheryl sighed at his words. "Ever since Ms. Lauren's accident, Mr. Justin hasn't been sleeping well. He wanted to return earlier, but he thought all of you might be extremely busy, and he was worried about causing any inconvenience by coming over. That's why he decided to return only today."
"You don't need to mention that, Sheryl," Justin reproached.
"You're really thoughtful, Justin." Javier was deeply moved. "You've come at the right time. Lauren just woke up. She'll be very happy to see you."
As the Becketts returned to the VIP ward area, the usually proud Javier personally pushed Justin's wheelchair.
The eldest son was valued in most of the prestigious families. If it weren't for the kidnapping case that had ruined Justin's healthy body, Jasper-the illegitimate child—wouldn't have been able to rise to such prominence and enter the core within just a few years.
Just as Alyssa was about to follow them into the ward, Jasper suddenly grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the dimly lit emergency exit without a word.
The door slammed shut, and his deep eyes surged with emotions. He pressed her against the wall before kissing her passionately.
Alyssa's shoulders were sandwiched between his hand and the wall, so she didn't feel any pain from his aggressive approach. Their lips intertwined, and she felt herself surrendering to the sweet spell of the moment.
They finally parted after a long while, strands of glistening saliva lingering between their moistened lips.
"What's wrong? Why are you suddenly so... aggressive?" Alyssa gasped as Jasper continued to press against her body.
"Don't smile at him, Lyse." Jasper's intense affection and possessiveness were about to erupt from his chest, his eyes moist and deep. "Even if he's my brother."
