Can’t Win Me Back by Ginger Sue

Chapter 593
“Lyse, I grew up with Landon. I know him in and out. He may be fond of women, but he doesn’t just sleep with anyone.” Jasper
tried his best to console Alyssa while defending his friend.
Landon continued, “He wouldn’t dare do anything to Lauren. She’s my sister, after all.”
“Like hell! Landon would sleep with anyone who isn’t related to him!” Alyssa yelled. “You’d better get on
your knees and pray Landon didn’t so much as touch Lauren, or I’m cutting his fingers off one by one!”
“Alright,” came the calm reply.
Alyssa was taken aback. “What?”
“I said, alright. I agree with your decision. If something did happen, you can get to work on his left hand.
I’ll go for the right one.”
Alyssa was truly left speechless now.
Hoes before bros, indeed.
Lauren was transferred to a general ward after her surgery. She lay weakly in bed, face as pale as the
hospital gown she wore.
“How do you feel? Does it still hurt?” Landon asked tenderly, gazing into her doe-like eyes.
Lauren shook her head meekly.
“Can you hear me then?”
Lauren nodded.
Landon sighed long and hard. “Thank goodness.”
He then took out his phone. “I’ll call your brother and sister-in-law to have them come pick you up

Panicked, Lauren quickly grabbed his wrist. “B-But I’m hungry, Landon...”
“I’ve ques
guessed you might, so I’ve already asked Angie to get you something to eat. She should be back
soon.”
Angelina entered the ward with a paper bag just then. “Here’s the meal, as you instructed, sir. Nothing heavy.”

“Bring it over.”
She set it down on the meal tray above the hospital bed, where Landon opened it up. He blew carefully on
a spoonful of cream of mushroom soup before bringing it to Lauren’s lips. “Here, eat up.”
Angelina had to look again to make sure she wasn’t hallucinating.
There was no point hiding what one truly felt for another, as it would manifest in other ways no matter
what.
“I... I can eat on my own...” Lauren mumbled, blushing,
“You’re still weak from the surgery. Let me help you.” Landon pressed the spoon to her lips again, smirking
lightly as he teased, “You should be feeling blessed right now. Do you have any idea how many women in
Solana City would die for me to be doing this for them?”
Lauren said nothing. She merely obediently swallowed the soup.
“There we go! You can go brag to the world about how I’ve personally fed you. Come on, open up.”
