Big Novel

El General Todopoderoso de Dragón

Ian glanced at her, his eyes downcast, “Guess I’ll head home then.”
“Yeah.”
Maja, umbrella in hand, returned to the living room only to find Rocky had left a trail of wet paw prints across the floor from the
rain.
She frowned, “Go sit in the corner.”
Off to the side was a large hair dryer specially for pets. Seeing it being switched on, Rocky quickly scurried over.
Unable to sleep, Maja stood by the window of the first floor, watching as Ian walked away. His silhouette looked lonely.
She showed no sympathy. His temper needed to be curbed, and if he didn’t change, there was no need for them to be together.
As Ian left the Rosewood Manor, his car was already waiting, driven by Jeff.
Once inside, Jeff handed him a clean towel.
“Mr. Raymond.”
Ian casually wiped his hair a few times before looking out at the pouring rain.
After the car stopped at Greenfield Gardens, he made a call to Dylan Sanders.
“I disagree with the engagement to the Sanders family. I won’t see Judith anymore. And tell your sister to keep her friend, Wind,
in check. If he messes with Maja, I won’t be kind.”
Dylan, a man of routine, was already fast asleep when he received Ian’s call. The sudden news left him cold.
“Ian, are you messing with us?”
“Am I? I only said I would give it a try, and now I have. I found that I still like Maja.”
“Ian!”
Dylan’s eyes were icy. After a few seconds of silence, he took a deep breath, “The Raymond Corporation isn’t invincible.”
“Then try me.”

After hanging up, he entered Greenfield Gardens. After showering, he blocked all of Judith’s numbers on his phone.
Lying in bed, he instinctively reached out, only to grasp at air. He touched his lips, at least he had kissed her earlier. The rain was
worth it.
Unable to sleep after few minutes’ trying, he took a cold shower, as if trying to cleanse himself. He spent the whole night soaking
in cold water in the bathtub.
With the room’s air conditioning at its lowest, his antics led to him waking up with a fever.
He asked Jeff to bring him a digital thermometer, took a picture of the reading, and sent it to Maja.
【Running a fever.】
Maja was just about to leave for work. She was still shaken by the bullet that hit her car window last night. So, she swapped her
usual driver for a bodyguard from Rosewood Manor. His surveillance detection skills were top-notch, making the journey safer
than if Zoey had picked her up.
Until the situation with the Sanders family was resolved, her movements were restricted to the company and Rosewood Manor.
This was to ensure her safety.
Now that she knew someone was trying to kill her, she needed be cautious.
On his way to work, Ian noticed that his message had been sent half an hour ago and still hadn’t been replied to. So, he sent
another picture, this time of the files on his knee.
【Working despite being sick.】
By this time, Maja was already seated in her office, instructing the first-floor bodyguard to tighten security. For the next two hours,
all routes to the top floor were manned by bodyguards. This way, anyone from other floors who wanted to enter the top floor
would have to go through an application process.
As the owner of the Star Movie Group, such caution was necessary to take in order to prevent paparazzi from infiltrating the
company.
After a meeting, Maja saw that Ian had sent another screenshot, this time of his Facebook post.
He rarely posted on Facebook, and the few posts he had made were mostly about her.

This time, he shared a cheesy moment.
【Past, present, and future, only She has my heart.】
As this was Maja’s initials, most of his Facebook friends knew about their past relationship and were aware that he was referring
to Maja, not Judith.
Tyler commented below.
[Are you planning to acquire the Star Movie Group?]
The joke fell flat, and Ian replied to him.
[Get lost.]
On the rocky road to winning back his wife, the last thing he needed was a friend causing trouble.
Tyler was puzzled while watching the post. Ian was still head over heels in love despite knowing that Maja loved his brother.
He immediately called Ian, but the call was redirected to voicemail.
Ian was on the phone with Fitch.
“Is it possible you two getting back together?”
There was no other couple like them in the circle. A married couple who divorced, started dating again, and then broke up, their
love story was public knowledge. The entanglement didn’t seem to end.
“We haven’t reconciled yet.”
Fitch sighed in relief, “I knew it. You couldn’t possibly be so lovesick. Even if she comes back to you, you should at least hold out
for a while. Don’t just believe her sweet words.”
Ian choked on his words, “I’m the one who went back to her. She hasn’t agreed yet.”
Fitch was taken aback, “She lied to you. Her first love was Eric, and yet you forgave her.”
“She didn’t lie to me. She was deceived by my brother. She didn’t know that Patric was Eric, and she still doesn’t know.”

Frowned, Fitch pondered over the truthfulness of his words.
After a while, he asked, “What if she finds out later and Eric comes back, and she chooses Eric? Ian, do you have the confidence
to believe she will choose you? The power of first love is not that you can imagine, for both men and women. The current love
would always be unable to compare with their true love.”
Who didn’t understand this? Hence the saying, don’t fall in love in the vanity fair.
