I left the room as soon as Vincent and Cole left. I couldn't bear being in the same
room as Prescott anymore.
A hand seized my waist and covered my mouth with his other hand before pulling
me into the hallway’s corner.

Prescott's wife and if anyone caught him hurting me, he would have to pay for it.
Everyone feared and obeyed him, not me.
I stood there in my pathetic state, wondering why the Goddess hated me so
much to give me such mates. It would have hurt a little less if Prescott wouldn't
be my second chance mate.
I returned to my room and shut the door behind me to watch Isabel sitting on my
bed. while eating an apple.
“I don't need you right now. You may go out and take a rest in your dirty little
room,” Isabel said as if I was still her maid and it was her room.
Seeing her acting like the owner of my room made my blood boil. I wouldn't live
that life again. I was done with it. I would become stronger and make them regret
it.

yanking the apple from her hand and pulling her hair in my hand exactly how she

Her words made my heart race in fear and I hated the fact that she still affected
me this much. Maybe the torture and pain I had gone through would always
haunt me. The wounds of my past weren't healed yet.
I rushed into my bathroom and took a cold shower. The amount of time I had
cried in this bathroom, it had become my little escape and safe place to be
vulnerable.
“Get out of the shower, Tila,” Avery requested, banging on my door. “I have been
waiting for half an hour now.”
After quickly dressing up, I stepped out of the bathroom. “All good? Why did you
come here?”
“Alpha Prescott asked us to move into the apartment,” my sister retorted, eyeing
me suspiciously. “What's wrong with you?”
“Nothing,” I ignored her and walked toward my dressing table to apply light
makeup to hide my puffy eyes.
“You don't look alright,” Avery argued with me.
