Ethan’s Vengeance of Love

Ethan glanced and saw it was a call from Caleb. He had asked Caleb to investigate the DNA paternity test Alice did. So, this call
was most likely about that.
So, he answered the call.
“Mr. Knight, I have info on the DNA test Young Madam Knight did,” Caleb reported just as Ethan had expected.
Ethan turned to gaze at the calm and composed Alice. She wasn’t responsive to Charles’ excessively friendly behavior. In fact,
she seemed a little distant.
He knew she was always on her toes when it came to the Wolands. She didn’t trust them and was wary of Charles as well.
Even he couldn’t fool a Little Fox such as Alice, let alone anybody else.
Ethan smirked before walking away with the phone. He found a quiet corner as he exited the hall before speaking, “What is it?”
“Young Madam did the DNA test at Howell Corp and Lydia Howell performed the test for her using two samples of hair she
brought with her,” Caleb gave a detailed report.
“Whose hair are those?” That was the most important question Ethan wanted to know.
“I can’t confirm that now. Lydia refuses to cooperate. She keeps deflecting all my questions. It doesn’t help that I’m uncertain
whether she’s truly oblivious or merely faking through her teeth. So, our best bet is to ask Young Madam.” Caleb wasn’t almighty.
He couldn’t possibly identify the hair even if he got his hands on the samples since the differences were minor.
Alice definitely knew whom the hair belonged to, but she would never tell him. Otherwise, Ethan wouldn’t have to go through all
this trouble.
“I’ve investigated her whereabouts the past few days. She didn’t go to many places. She had only met up with Keith a few days
ago and returned to the Woland Residence yesterday. But I don’t think this has anything to do with the Wolands since she would
have done the test earlier if they were involved. It seemed that Young Madam returned because the Rowland Family made a
marriage proposal to the Wolands. So, I think we can rule out the Wolands.” Caleb paused for a moment before whispering, “I
think there’s a high possibility one of the hair samples is Keith’s.”
“What about the other one?” Ethan’s eyes narrowed dangerously. Did she take Keith’s hair for a DNA paternity test? Why? Why
his hair? Who is the DNA test for? What secret does she have with Keith?

“I haven’t found out whom the other hair sample belongs to. Young Madam’s whereabouts are straightforward. She didn’t see
anyone else besides Keith the past few days. So...” Caleb hesitated, but it was obvious he meant that Alice had only seen Keith.
However, one would need two samples for a DNA test and one of them would be Keith’s. So, the other sample could only belong
to someone else.
“Where else had she been?” Ethan had a hunch. It was crucial to find out who was the other party as that was the key to the
whole ordeal. So, he had to find out.
“Young Madam usually stays at the Knights and rarely goes out.” Caleb was sure to have all the information in hand since Ethan
had asked him to do a thorough investigation. “However, she would go to Majestic Plaza every day. Sometimes, she would visit
the place twice a day. But she wouldn’t purchase anything. It seems as though she’s just strolling around the place just to kill
time.”
“Go to the mall? Twice a day?” Ethan furrowed his brow since he was aware that she wasn’t the type who particularly liked
shopping nor would she kill time by walking around aimlessly. Besides, it was truly suspicious of her to visit the mall twice in one
day.
Something was definitely going on behind the scenes.
“Go investigate Majestic Plaza and find out what exactly she did there.” Ethan instinctively felt that her secret was hidden in that
mall.
Nonetheless, he recalled that she was a careful person. So, if she truly had something hidden there, she would avoid the
security cameras. If that were the case, it wouldn’t be easy to find out what she was doing there.
“Bring more men with you and turn the place upside down. Check for any suspicious target.” Ethan felt it should be easy to find
something or someone by doing that.
“Okay. Got it.” Caleb understood what Ethan was hinting at. It was indeed easier to sniff something out if they had full control
over the place.
Meanwhile, in the event hall, Charles placed the fruit knife to the side. After a while, it seemed like he couldn’t handle being up
and about any longer. “Alice, I’m not feeling well. Please help me to the lounge. I think I need a break.”
“Okay.” Alice couldn’t reject him as he was her grandfather. So, she went forward, helped him up, and walked out.

Sophia followed behind them silently but glared at Alice with displeasure.
As they exited the hall, there was a lounge on the left.
“Let’s head into that lounge. I can just take a break there,” Charles ordered as he pointed at the lounge on the left.
“Okay,” Alice hummed in acknowledgment and pushed open the door before leading Charles inside.
After she helped seat Charles on the couch, she realized he didn’t look too well and was short of breath. “Don’t worry, Alice. I just
need to take my meds.”
Charles assured Alice and started to fumble through his pockets, but he couldn’t find the bottle even after a long while. “Where
are my pills?”
“You were resting in the right lounge before. Did you leave it there?” Sophia suddenly chimed in anxiously, “How could you
misplace your medication? Your life is at stake. How are you feeling now?”
“It’s not that bad. Just a little out of breath. Alice, I probably left my meds in the lounge on the right of the hallway. Can you fetch
it for me?” Charles’ speech faltered as his face turned pale. It was as if he was going to stop breathing anytime soon.
“Sure. I’ll get it.” Alice knew nitroglycerin was an important fast-acting medicine for people with heart attacks. If the patient didn’t
take it on time, their life would be at risk.
So, she couldn’t let Charles be in danger no matter what.
Then, she shot up and rushed out the door, but she quickly sneaked a glance at Sophia before the door swung to a close.
After she closed the door, she didn’t waste any time as she dashed toward the lounge Charles had mentioned earlier.
