Chapter 455
When he entered the room and saw Charlie, Estelle, and others, he was a bit surprised and asked, “When did you guys get
here?”
Charlie replied casually, “Five minutes before you!”
Emily looked at all the gifts on the table and said, “Carson, you’re too kind. My injury is almost healed and I don’t really need all
these things. You can take them
back.”
Carson also bought a big bouquet of flowers and handed it to her. “If I take back the things I brought, wouldn’t that be
disrespectful to me?”
Charlie joked, “She treats me the same way!”
Feeling more embarrassed, Emily took the flowers and said, “Carson, have a seat!”
Carson glanced around the room and laughed. “If I knew you guys had a place in the Royal Mansion, I would’ve asked Jonah for
one too. It would be more convenient for our gatherings!”
Charlie laughed, “I rarely come here, and even if you did, Jonathan wouldn’t bother hanging out with you!”
Carson quickly understood Charlie’s meaning. He thought Jonathan and Estelle were just fooling around, but it seemed like they
were serious now. As they were chatting and laughing, the food arrived.
Charlie ordered food from a Michelin–starred restautant. The hotel staff helped set everything up before leaving.
Charlie joked, “I ordered a special patient meal for Emily. Let’s drink and let her eat the patient meal by herself!”
Emily felt touched by Charlie’s thoughtfulness and said, “Thank you, Charlie!”
“Don’t mention it. You guys sit, I’m gonna grab the wine!”
Charlie went to grab a bottle of wine from the shelf. Since Estelle was there, he chose a bottle with a softer taste. Holding the
bottle, he found that it felt wrong. Looking closely, he saw there was only half a bottle left.
Charlie squinted his eyes, shooting a wary look at Crystal as she arranged the lobster on the dining table and discarded the wine
bottle he had initially picked up. He grabbed another bottle instead.
Without uttering a word, Charlie returned to the dining room and handed the wine bottle to Carson, indicating for him to open it in
the kitchen.
Crystal, catching a glimpse of the wine bottle in Charlie’s hand, looked away, her guilt apparent.
While Carson went to open the wine, Crystal suddenly pulled out her phone, interrupting the moment. “Wait a minute,” she
exclaimed, “Let me take a few pictures!”
Everyone patiently waited as Crystal snapped picture after picture of the dishes laid out on the table.
Growing increasingly embarrassed by the attention, Emily whispered to Crystal, “That’s enough. Everyone’s hungry. Stop taking
pictures!”
Crystal thought she hadn’t taken enough pictures and turned on all the lights. She was determined to capture those Michelin–
starred food in all its glory!
Emily felt even more embarrassed.
Estelle suddenly spoke up with a smile, “It’s fine. No hurry!”
Crystal was finally satisfied after the wine was brought back. She acted cute and said, “Every bit of life’s beauty is worth
capturing, right?”
Carson laughed and said, “You’re right. We should get into the habit of taking pictures to remember things. Otherwise, we won’t
know how we spent our time in the past!”
Crystal agreed and reached out to give Carson a high–five, “Right!”
Carson looked at Emily. He thought Crystal was Emily’s sister–in–law and didn’t want her to be too embarrassed. He reluctantly
raised his hand and lightly touched Crystal’s hand.
Crystal looked proud!
Carson’s face was a bit sour, and Charlie was laughing, taking pleasure in his misfortune
