- Chapter 162 - You Knock My Socks Off
Reyna smiled and nodded. “Mr. Decker and Mrs. Decker, thank you for the lovely dinner!”
“Reyna, I hope you can forgive Gia for what she did to you last time. She didn’t know that you were pregnant and made you lose your child. I’m sorry for that.”
Reyna forced a smile. “Forget it! I don’t blame Mrs. Decker.”
“Are you sure you don’t blame me? If I hadn’t made you kneel, you wouldn’t lose your baby,” said Gia, who had been silent all this time.
Reyna smiled reluctantly. “It’s been so long. Don’t … don’t mention it again. We have to look forward, right?”
“Reyna, you really knock my socks off.” Gia took a sip of water and sneered. “You don’t even feel sorry for your baby. Didn’t you feel sorry for what happened two years ago? Can you say that it is not your fault?”
The smile on Reyna’s face faded, and she grabbed the chopsticks in her hand tightly to suppress her emotions.
“Sorry!”
Bentley said immediately, “Mom! Aren’t I fine now? Reyna didn’t set fire two years ago. She was also an innocent victim. We can’t blame it on her.”
Rupert agreed. “That’s right. It was not Reyna’s fault.”
“How can you understand my feelings?” Gia slapped the table hard with great strength, directly sending the bowls and chopsticks on the table flying. She glared at Bentley. “Bentley, why do you bring her back today? Are you together?”
“Yes. Mom, Dad, we get back together. I hope you can agree,” Bentley admitted frankly.
“Agree? Bentley, didn’t you learn your lesson?
Bentley said helplessly, “Mom! I like Reyna a lot. Besides, I have one more thing to tell you.”
Bentley held Reyna’s hand tightly under the table and determinedly looked at his parents. “Dad, Mom, I want to marry Reyna. I hope you can bless us.”
“What did you just say? Do you still want to marry this woman?”
Reyna was shocked. Bentley had never told her about this matter. She thought that she was here to meet his parents.
“Bentley…”
“Yes!” Bentley held her hand tightly and clasped his fingers with hers to show his determination.
“Two years ago, I wanted to marry Reyna, but fate played tricks on us. Now that I’m back and she’s still single, I want to fulfill the promise I didn’t fulfill two years ago. I want to marry her!”
Gia got excited hearing this. “Are you crazy? Even if you don’t mind that she used to be pregnant with Leroy, don’t you save face for the Decker family? I will never let an improper woman marry into our family!”
Bentley was very persistent. “Mom, I came here today to inform you. Whether you agree or not, you can’t stop us.”
“How dare you!”
He pulled Reyna up and said under Gia’s glare, “Enjoy your meal! We’ll be leaving first.”
After that, he pulled Reyna to leave.
Walking out of the Decker’s villa, Reyna was still full of disbelief.
She paused and looked at Bentley. “Bentley, it is such a big decision. Why didn’t you tell me in advance?”
Bentley turned around, took her hands, and wrapped them in his palms. He smiled gently, “Reyna, did I scare you?”
“No, I was just a little shocked.”
“Reyna, I’ve heard that Leroy is still harassing you recently, and he even forced you to come back to him, right?”
Reyna closed her eyes. “Yes.”
“Reyna, since we can’t escape from him, why don’t we think of a way to let Leroy give up on you?”
“What … what method?” Reyna paused for a second. “Are you saying…”
“Yes. Reyna, if we get married, Leroy will not come to harass you again.” He pulled her into his arms. “Reyna, I’m sorry. I didn’t tell you about this in advance. It was my fault. However, I meant it when I said I wanted to marry you. Helping you get rid of Leroy was just an excuse.”
What Bentley said did make sense.
Leroy kept bugging her. If she got married, would Leroy let go of her? Would he stop pestering her?
Seeing that Reyna was silent for a long time, Bentley thought she was still angry. “Reyna, are you still angry with me?”
“No, I haven’t.” “Bentley, I’m fine with it, but your mother … she dislikes me. I don’t want to put you in a difficult position.”
If Gia disagreed, their marriage wouldn’t get blessed by his biological parents.
“Don’t worry. I’ll take care of this. It won’t take too long. Most importantly, will you marry me?” Bentley asked, his eyes full of affection.
Reyna felt bitterness and happiness at the same time. She smiled and said, “Just as you said, I wanted to marry you two years ago. Bentley, yes, I do.”
Bentley was moved and hugged her tightly. “Reyna, I’m so happy. Even if there are many obstacles, I am confident that I can overcome them one by one as long as you are with me.”
Reyna hugged him tightly. She didn’t know where she touched him, but he suddenly sucked in a breath of pain.
Reyna was so frightened that she immediately let go of his hand. She asked worriedly, “Bentley, are you okay? What’s wrong?”
Seeing that she was so nervous about him, Bentley felt warmth in his heart. “No worries. I got injured a few days ago. Nothing is serious.”
“Where is it? Did I accidentally touch your wound just now?” Reyna was about to flip over his clothes, but he stopped her.
He smiled and said teasingly, “Reyna, I’m happy that you agreed to marry me, but you don’t have to be so anxious.”
Reyna’s face immediately turned red. She hurriedly withdrew her hand and said, “Bentley, why are you laughing at me?”
Although the marriage thing caught Reyna off guard, she believed in Bentley. Moreover, he said that he would handle everything and what she needed to do was wear a beautiful wedding dress and marry him.
She knew that Bentley was comforting her. But because of his comfort, Reyna felt rest assured.
Bentley sent Reyna home. After that, he returned home.
The lights were still on.
When he walked into the door, he saw his parents waiting for him as he expected.
Seeing that Bentley had returned, Rupert walked over and looked at him. “She is in a bad mood. It would be best if you communicated with her properly. I’ll leave you alone.”
After Rupert left, only he and Gia were in the living room.
Gia looked at Bentley coldly as if she was looking at a stranger. “Don’t you have anything to tell me?”
