- Chapter 276 - Lance, Wait for Me
Leroy was not much better than Reyna in the past few days. He had been dealing with Lance’s funeral, and he also employed a tremendous amount of manpower to look for Viola’s whereabouts.
Leroy arrived at the police station. When he saw Viola, he didn’t feel relieved.
Viola squatted in the corner and was drawing circles on the ground. Ethen called her a few times, and she finally turned around.
Viola glanced at Ethen and turned to Leroy. She laughed loudly. “They’re all dead!”
As Viola spoke, she slowly stood up and walked over to Leroy.
Viola looked seriously at Leroy through the prison bars. She was trying to remember who he was.
Soon, Viola came to her senses and said happily, “Leroy, are you here to see me? Why did you come so late? I…”
Her unfinished words were stopped by Leroy.
Leroy stretched out his hands through the prison bars and grabbed Viola’s neck. His face was dark and terrifying. “Why did you kill Lance? Why?”
Even though she was strangled, Viola laughed crazily. “I was going to die with you. But then I realized that if you killed the most important person for Reyna, you and Reyna would never be together again. She would hate you for the rest of your life…”
Viola planned to die with Leroy, so she did something to the brake in advance. When Leroy found it, it would be too late.
Back then, Viola had said to Leroy, “Leroy, maybe you’ll be mine if we die together.”
She was going to die with Leroy.
If she couldn’t get Leroy, she would destroy him!
“How dare you!” Leroy was burning with anger. His eyes were scarlet, and he squeezed Viola’s neck harder. “I will kill you!”
“Mr. Leroy!” Ethen quickly stepped forward, grabbed Leroy’s hands and reminded him, “Mr. Leroy, we’re at the police station. It will be very troublesome to kill her.”
Leroy turned a deaf ear to Ethen. He hated Viola’s guts. Viola could hardly breathe. Ethen had no choice but to hit Leroy’s arms.
Leroy was hurt, and he loosened his hands.
Ethen leaned closer to Leroy and whispered, “Mr. Leroy, there are surveillance cameras here. You go first, I will take care of it.”
Leroy was unwilling to leave. He stared fiercely at Viola.
Viola laughed and said, “Leroy, I know I’m the one to blame. But you drove the car and hit Lance. Reyna saw you get out of the car to save Lance.” Viola was filled with the pleasure of revenge, “Lance died because of you! You killed the person Reyna loved the most. You’re done!”
Leroy had always been calm and collected. But he was interrupted by Viola’s words this time. He violently smashed the door and roared, “I will kill you! I will kill you!”
Facing Leroy’s threat, Viola laughed crazily, “Leroy, it’s Reyna’s fault. That bitch took you away from me! I want her to suffer for the rest of her life!”
Leroy was too emotional. Ethen had to take Leroy away.
Leroy walked out of the police station. He was sweating profusely and gasping for breath. Blue veins stood out on his temples.
Leroy said in a gloomy voice, “Ethen, get rid of her.”
“No problem.”
Ethen asked worriedly, “Mr. Leroy, are you alright? I’ll send you back.”
Ethen sent Leroy back to the Imperial Garden. In the car, Leroy leaned against the back seat with his eyes closed. He kept silent all the way.
When the car stopped, Ethen turned around and called Leroy, “Mr. Leroy, we’re here.”
Leroy slowly opened his eyes. This was the first time he was so afraid of entering the house.
Leroy stayed still for a while. “Mr. Leroy?” Ethen called him again.
“Ethen, I let Reyna down.”
Ethen could feel Leroy’s sadness.
Ethen paused for a second and comforted Leroy, “Mr. Leroy, this is not your fault. Don’t blame yourself.”
But they all knew Viola was right.
Leroy drove his car and hit Lance.
Leroy didn’t mean to do that, but things had happened.
Leroy had killed Lance. He could not escape from the truth.
Leroy said to Ethen before he got out of the car, “Go back. Remember to do what I told you.”
Leroy walked into the house. The lights were on, but it was deathly quiet.
Julia came out of the bedroom on the second floor. She saw Leroy and went downstairs. “Mr. Leroy, you’re back? Is the funeral going well today?”
The sudden death of Lance caught Julia off guard.
Although Julia had only met Lance a few times, she knew Lance was Reyna’s life.
But now…
Lance had gone.
Leroy nodded. “How is Reyna doing?”
“Miss Reyna’s fever has gone, but she hasn’t woken up yet. She has been put on a drip. She may wake up tomorrow.”
“Thank you. You can go back and have a rest. I will take care of her.”
“Okay.”
As soon as Julia left, Leroy’s phone rang. It was from Ethen.
“Mr. Leroy, Viola committed suicide.”
Leroy was shocked. “What’s going on?”
“She already knew that you would kill her. She chose to take her own life.”
“I know.”
Leroy hung up the phone and walked upstairs.
As soon as he went into the bedroom, he heard Reyna talking in her sleep.
“Lance, Lance, wait for me … Where are you? … Lance, wait for me, please…”
Leroy walked over and sat on the bed, looking at Reyna.
It was dark outside, and the dim bedside lamp shone on Reyna’s pale little face. Her face was covered in sweat, and her wet hair was stuck to her forehead. She shook her head and said something with a frown.
Even though she was unconscious, her tears flowed down her cheeks and wetted the pillow.
Reyna was having a nightmare. Her face was full of pain, and her breathing quickened.
Leroy touched Reyna’s face and called her name softly, “Reyna, wake up, Reyna!”
