- Chapter 340 - The Tibetan Mastiff's Attack
However, there was no fear in Leroy’s eyes toward Tank. Instead, Leroy trained Tank like his right-hand man. Leroy was calm and collected.
“Reyna, what do you think of Tank?”
“What do you mean?”
“Which party will win if we let it fight with a human?”
Reyna widened her eyes and looked at Leroy in shock.
Leroy also looked at her. His eyes were cold, like a bloodthirsty devil.
“I … I don’t know.”
She turned around and strode away.
This time, Leroy did not follow and forced her to stay.
…
A day passed peacefully. It began to rain again at night. Lightning flashed and thunder rumbled outside the window, illuminating the entire dark sky as if it was daytime.
Leroy did not come back. Reyna lay on the bed and closed her eyes. She was sleeping well, but it was too terrifying. The thunder kept crashing, making her unable to sleep. She sat up.
For no reason, she felt stuffy.
She went downstairs to fetch some water and glanced at the clock in the hall. It was already past eleven o’clock in the evening, but Leroy hadn’t returned.
‘Leroy might not be coming back tonight.’
Reyna heard some noise from outside when she stepped into the room. Reyna stopped and listened carefully.
The sound showed up again. Reyna confirmed the sound source and ran to open the window.
As soon as the window was opened, a large amount of rain poured in. As lightning flashed and thunder rumbled, Reyna saw Martin hanging outside the window in black.
Reyna was astonished. “Why are you here, Martin?”
Martin clutched the ropes with one hand, he was soaked in the rain. “Reyna, I’m here to get you out. I’ve already solved the people at the entrance. Come out quickly, I’ll take you out of here.”
“What?”
Reyna was just about to speak. But the rope shook and Martin declined uncontrollably.
“Martin!”
Reyna picked up an umbrella and ran downstairs without hesitation.
She ran to Martin and helped him up. “Are you alright, Martin?”
Martin clutched her hand. “Let’s go! Reyna, we don’t have enough time. Let’s leave this place. If we don’t leave now, they will wake up.”
“Wait! Martin, wait!”
Martin didn’t give her any time to speak and forcibly pulled her to run.
But just as they were about to reach the entrance, there was a sudden beep of an alarm in the distance. Then, the entire Imperial Garden lit up.
Before Reyna could react, a tall black shadow flashed and directly pounced on Martin.
Martin screamed, “Let go!”
Only then did Reyna know that it was Tank!
“Stop! Tank, stop biting! Stop!” Reyna shut the umbrella and scared Tank away with the umbrella. But Tank seemed to go lunatic and bit Martin, with no intention of stopping.
Martin was knocked onto the ground. His entire arm was injured by Tank. Blood was flowing down along his arm.
“Damn, go away!” Martin struggled to break free from Tank’s mouth and stood up. He picked up a stone on the ground and threw it at Tank’s head.
Reyna panicked and was at a loss. She could only shout at Martin, “Martin, run away! Run away!”
As she called, her waist was grabbed by a powerful hand.
The familiar aura surged up, surrounding her.
“Reyna, take a guess, which party will win?”
The rain grew heavier and heavier, pouring straight down from the top of Reyna’s head, blurring her eyes and freezing her body.
A chill crept up from the soles of her feet, spreading to her limbs and bones.
“Leroy. What are you doing? Let him go!”
“Let him go? Reyna, are you joking?” Leroy pinched Reyna’s chin. Leroy was soaked in the rain, but he remained dignified. “He wants to take you away. Don’t tell me that you want to leave with him.”
“No!” Martin screamed out of pain.
Martin’s body was soaked in blood, and Reyna was shocked by the sight. “Leroy, stop Tank! Please, stop!”
Leroy turned a deaf ear to it. Tank’s attack became even more fierce.
Leroy forcefully picked Reyna up and turned to leave.
A group of men in black rushed in and surrounded Martin.
“No!” Reyna shouted. She could only watch helplessly as Martin was dragged away. The blood on the ground mixed with the rain and spread out.
Leroy carried Reyna back to his room and threw her onto the bed. “Clean up.”
He turned and left.
Reyna grabbed him. “Leroy. I didn’t want to go with him. I was astonished. But I really didn’t want to go with him. Can you let him go? I beg you.”
Leroy stopped walking and turned to look at the wet woman in front of him with a calm expression. “I know.”
“You know?” Reyna was stunned. “Don’t tell me you already knew that Martin would come and see me tonight.”
“Of course, otherwise…” He walked up to her and lifted her chin with a finger. He looked at her pale face and said in a cold voice, “I bought Tank not only for fun.”
Reyna opened her eyes wide in amazement. “You! What did you say?”
“I have to settle the score between me and him sooner or later.” Leroy took one last look at her and said, “Stay here. If I can’t see you when I am back, you’re dead.”
After that, he turned and left the room.
Reyna fell onto the bed.
‘What did that mean?’
‘When did Martin offend Leroy? Because Martin saved me from prison last time?’
…
Ethen rushed over. “Mr. Leroy, Martin was well prepared. He was intercepted by people from his side.”
Leroy had changed into clean clothes. The rain had stopped.
“Keep searching. We must not let him escape!”
“Yes!”
They searched the entire city but could not find Martin.
Martin was missing. Zion had a sudden cerebral infarction and passed away at home.
The only person who knew the whereabouts of Martin was dead.
Leroy stood on the second floor of the Full Bloom Club with a cigarette in his hand, quietly watching people playing cards downstairs.
Ethen stood to the side and asked, “Mr. Leroy, we haven’t found Martin.”
Leroy’s expression remained unchanged, as if he had expected it. “It seems like he knew that I would take action.”
“What are you going to do?”
“Forget it, stop searching. Martin will definitely be warier now. It will be even harder for us to find him.”
“Understood.”
Ethen looked at Leroy and asked, “Mr. Leroy, did you know that Martin would go to take Miss Herring away?”
Leroy took a puff. “Martin has coveted Reyna for a long time. He has risked everything to take Reyna out.”
