Me: Auntie, tell me what are you trying to tell me?
Auntie: baby.
Auntie came to a halt in the middle of her statement and inhaled deeply.
Me: Auntie.
I am a little anxious right now. What does she want to say to me, and why is she so hesitant?
Me: “Auntie, you can tell me.” Don’t be hesitant in this way.
Auntie: Actually, your m-, baby.
Auntie was going to say something when mom opened the door. With a smile on her face, she stated.
Mom, you’re here. I was looking for you down there.
While glancing at Auntie, Mom said. She entered the room carrying a tray. She made milkshakes for us. I murmured, my eyes narrowing.
Me: Why did you make this, Mom?
Auntie: Yes, Amilly, why didn’t you call me?
Mom smiled and said, “Why?” “Can’t I make this for you?”
I answered with a sigh.
Me: “Mom, you can.” But you’re not alright right now.
As I already stated, I stood and grabbed the tray from her. Mom sat on the edge of the bed. Then I asked auntie.
Me: Auntie, what were you trying to say?
Auntie seemed a little uncomfortable when she heard me. She gave me a firm smile after looking at my mom.
Auntie: Honey, it’s nothing. Actually, I was trying to convey to you that your mom is really concerned about your next exam. Her ambition is to see you as a doctor.
I smiled and turned to face my mother. Mom gave me a smile as well.
Me: yes, auntie. I am confident in my abilities.
Mom: I know my baby will give it to her all.
Mom replied, abruptly, with a smile on her face. Yes, I said with a nod. I have to accomplish it no matter what it takes. But all of a sudden, Mom started coughing.
Mom: Cough, cough.
I stood up and rushed over to her in the same way that Auntie does.
Me: Mom, what’s wrong?
Mom: cough.
Mom was shaking her head to show that she was OK. However, the way she was coughing didn’t appear to be normal.
Auntie: Try to take a deep breath, Amilly.
I didn’t dwell for long and walked into her room. I think it is due to asthma. I swiftly unlocked her drawer, got his inhaler, and returned to my room.
Me: mom.
I handed her an inhaler as I approached her. Mom took her inhaler and carefully inhaled it. Auntie and I began rubbing her back. She gradually went back to normal after four or five rounds. I murmured this while I rubbed her back.
Me: I’ve warned you several times not to catch a cold. Keep yourself warm. But why don’t you pay attention to what I’m saying?
Mom shook her head gently as she closed her eyes. She then made a comment.
Mom: Love, I’m OK now. Let’s go to our room, sister.
Auntie gave a modest nod and took mom’s arm in hers. I was going to join them, but my mom halted me.
Mom: Where are you going, honey?
Me: Mom, kindly let me accompany you.
Mom: Your auntie is with me, honey. Please don’t waste your time. Go to your room.
Mom gave me a mild scolding and urged me to go to my room. I went to my room after listening to her. But something didn’t feel right to me. Was it truly Auntie’s intention to tell me that? Or is it something else entirely? Is there something they’re attempting to keep from me?
…..
In the Amilly’s room.
Amilly: Sister, did you ever think about what you were going to do?
In a disappointed tone, Amilly asked her sister. Amilly’s sister answered with a strained gaze.
Amilly’s sister: Amilly, you’re doing it wrong. She has a right to know what happened to her mother.
Amilly sighed and sat on the bed when she heard her sister. Amilly’s sister knelt beside her and took her hands in hers.
Amilly’s sister: Love, tell her. It will hurt her much more if she finds out about it later. Let her prepare herself mentally. Sheetal is a strong girl.
Amilly: sister.
Amilly addressed her sister solemnly.
Amilly: I’m going to tell her everything. Just give me two days and I’ll inform her that her mother has leukemia. But please don’t tell her right now, sister. I’m sure she won’t be able to deal with the shock.
Amilly’s sister cradled her in her arms. For a few seconds, she thought she was going to lose something important soon. She wishes she could hold her, but she is unable to do so. She has no ability to stop it; she does not want to lose her sister, but she knows she will. They both burst out crying.
Scenario
A nurse was making her way to ward number three. She smiled at Jolene as she opened the door.
Nurse: Hey ma’am, How are you feeling?
She moved closer to Jolene and began checking her pulse. Jolene said with a smile.
Jolene: I’m doing OK now.
Nurse: Everyone was praising you for saving Mr. Musa so valiantly.
Jolene: Musa?
Nurse: Yes, don’t you know them? They are the city’s most powerful and richest citizens.
Jolene shook her head slowly. She couldn’t believe she had saved such a capable man. She spoke up in response to the nurse.
Jolene: No, I’m not familiar with them. I’m originally from Italy, but for some reason I’ve ended up here.
Nurse: Oh, you’re from Italy, right? I thought you were a local.
Jolene smiled briefly and tried to sit on the bed. As soon as she spotted Jolene, she assisted her in sitting.
Jolene: Thank you .
Jolene smiled and then asked.
Jolene: If it’s not too much trouble, could you help me?
The nurse asked while writing something.
What is it, nurse?
Jolene: Can I use your phone? I need to speak with my family. They are completely unaware of the situation.
Nurse: sure.
She handed her phone to Jolene, as she stated. Jolene accepted her phone with a smile.
Next episode.
Nurse: What’s wrong? Aren’t they picking up?
Jolene: No, I think mom is busy. I’m going to send her a message.
As Jolene stated, she typed a message and sent it. She looked up at the nurse and thanked her once again.
