Liam placed his hand under Caroline’s ankle. Caroline moved her foot to the side, placing it over his crotch. She looked up at him, her eyes were daring him to do something. She crooked her head to the side a bit, waiting for him to do something.
Liam did not move an inch. Caroline placed her foot back on the ground and stood up from her chair and leaned against her desk. Liam stepped in front of her, placing his leg in between her thighs. He wrapped his hand around her neck and she leaned closer to him. She brushed her lips against his. She closed her eyes as if she were to kiss him, making him lower his guard and slowly remove his hand from her neck.
Caroline brushed her lips against his as she went to whisper, “what are you going to do?” She slowly traced his ear with her tongue before looking at him again. She stared into his green eyes before he pulled her into a kiss. Liam ran his hand up and down her bare thigh through the slit of her skirt as she undid his tie.
They continued to kiss as Liam took off his suit jacket and Caroline unbuttoned a few buttons of her shirt as Liam unbuttoned his waistcoat before taking it off. Caroline separated from the kiss and looked into his eyes once again. She placed her hands on the button of his shirt and began to unbutton his shirt, revealing his perfectly muscular body.
She licked her lips as her fingertips traveled up and down his abs. She then trailed her hand up to his neck as she leaned closer to him. She placed her lips against his neck and she began to pamper kisses on his skin before sucking on the spot.
After leaving a bruise on his neck, she proceeded to leave another bruise beneath the hickey she just made. She separated her lips from his skin and smirked at the sight of the bruises she had just made. She placed her tongue against the bruises before moving his shirt to the side and pressed a peck against his shoulder.
She let out a light chuckle before she sank her teeth against his flesh. He exhaled heavily, letting her know she was doing a good job. She then trailed her tongue over the bite mark on his shoulder before placing her hand over his cheek. She leaned in and pressed a peck against his lips to tease him even more.
She then looked at him and smiled. She moved her hand down to his neck and placed her lips close to his sharp jawline. She grazed her teeth against his jawline before whispering in his ear, “get the **** out of my office.”
Caroline looked at him once more, but this time, she wore a smirk on her face. He separated from her a bit and she sat on top of her desk. She crossed her legs as she rested her hand on top of a pen she had on top of the table.
She raised her eyebrow without breaking eye contact with Liam. “Did you really think I would have sex with you?” Caroline shook her head as she clicked her tongue. “Oh, don’t look at me like that, Liam. If you want to have sex that bad, you can just go to the cheap ***** you are going to marry. I am sure she’ll be more than happy to try to satisfy your needs.”
Caroline chuckled, making Liam step closer to her and wrap his hand over her neck. At the same time, Caroline took the cap off the pen she had under her hand, revealing a small yet sharp blade. Caroline placed the blade against Liam’s neck, right where his carotid artery lies.
Caroline leaned closer to his lips and pressed a kiss against his lips, before biting his bottom lip. As she separated from his lips, she let his bottom lips slip from her teeth. Then she repeated, “get out.”
He tightened his grip over her neck and leaned closer to her. “Princess, don’t do something you might regret later.” Caroline slightly pressed the blade against his skin, making a small cut. She retrieved the blade and looked at it. She saw a drop of his blood on the blade. She reached over to her purse and took out a handkerchief. She wiped the blade and placed the cap back on the pen.
Caroline stood up from the desk and stood in front of Liam. She wiped the drop of blood that was running down Liam’s neck as she grabbed his hand. She placed the handkerchief in his hand before she turned around and grabbed her purse.
Caroline looked at him one last time before saying, “I will take my leave now. Have a safe flight.” Caroline walked out of her office with a smirk of satisfaction on her face, after seeing Liam’s expression. She walked to her elevator and pressed the button and as she got in the elevator, Joseph followed behind her. “I must leave now. Clear my schedule.”
Joseph looked to the side as she talked to him and then he nodded. The doors of the elevator closed and Caroline looked down at her unbuttoned shirt. She began to button up her shirt after remembering she had unbuttoned it.
When Caroline arrived at the mansion, she went straight to the dining room, where her family and friends were gathered for lunch, waiting for her. Caroline smiled at the sight of all her friends gathered by the table along with the family members she considered family.
Caroline took a seat on her chair and spoke, “sorry for being late. There was traffic.”
“It’s fine, Caroline,” Elizabeth responded.
After they had lunch together, Caroline stood in front of Sebastian and hugged him. “Now I can greet you properly.” He chuckled as he patted Caroline’s back. After Caroline stopped hugging Sebastian, she hugged Roxy and said, “you should come over more often.”
Before Roxy could say anything, Mia grabbed Sebastian’s hand and spoke, “come on, uncle Teddy. Play with us.” Caroline stopped hugging Roxy and watched her little walk away while dragging Sebastian along with her. Caroline giggled and looked at Roxy.
“It seems my little stole your boyfriend.” Roxy chuckled and commented, “I better keep a close watch on him.” Caroline nodded slowly and looked at the gold watch on her wrist. “Can you also look after the twins? I gave the nanny the day off and there is something I have to do. It will not take longer than an hour.”
“Sure,” Roxy responded. Caroline smiled and walked out of the dining room. She was walking towards the stairs when she saw the twins playing around with Sebastian by the pool through a glass door. She smiled before she continued to walk towards the stairs.
When Caroline finally arrived at her bedroom, she went to her closet. Because she was planning on moving soon, she had to decide which clothes she was going to take first. She separated her clothes into small sections until she saw the safe.
She placed her hand over the key necklace that hung from her neck as she looked at the safe. She crouched down to open the safe. When the safe was opened, she took off the key necklace and took out the small aureate-colored chest inside the safe. She opened the chest using the key and looked at the pocket watch inside.
‘So much trouble for a watch that doesn’t even work,’ Caroline told herself. She pressed down on the latch release again, trying to see if something would happen. She then twisted the crown, hoping to move the hands of the watch but instead, the crown came off. Caroline looked at the pin attached to the crown of the pocket watch.
She instantly inspected the pocket watch, trying to find anything else that was unique about it. As she examined the inside cover of the pocket watch, she found some markings. She traced her fingertip over the markings, trying to make out what was engraved on the pocket watch.
She then looked at the pin in her other hand and instantly knew what she had to do. She pressed the sharp tip of the pin against her finger, making blood come out of her fingertip. She held her finger over the cover of the pocket watch and let her blood fall on top of the back cover.
When there was enough blood covering the cover of the pocket watch, she moved it around to have her blood fill the markings engraved on the watch. She looked at the numbers on the cover and began to laugh. “Coordinates. This is what I get,” she said with bitterness.
Caroline stood up from the floor and walked to her bathroom. She wet a towel and wiped her blood off the pocket watch. After she got rid of the blood on the pocket watch, she walked back inside the closet and went to the safe. She placed the pin back where it belonged and screw in the crown of the pocket watch again.
She placed the pocket watch back inside the aureate chest and closed it. She was placing the chest back inside the safe when a woman stood behind her and asked, “what are you doing?” Caroline instantly turned around as she swiftly closed the safe. She stood back up as she held the key necklace in her hand.
She looked at Roxy and chuckled nervously as she put on the necklace. “That’s a very pretty necklace,” Roxy commented. Caroline looked down at the necklace and then she looked back at Roxy. “I should get one just like it.”
Before Caroline could say anything, Roxy exclaimed, “your hand is bleeding!” Caroline looked at her hand and then down at the floor. There were small drops of blood on the floor that had dripped from her finger.
Caroline looked at Roxy and spoke, “it’s nothing. Just a small cut.” Roxy let out a sigh. “How did you cut yourself? You should be more careful.” Caroline snickered and countered, “you have nothing to worry about. I am always careful.”
“It doesn’t seem like it.” Caroline began to walk towards the bathroom as Roxy followed behind her. Caroline was washing her hand as she asked, “aside from coming here to criticize me, why did you come here?”
“I just talked to Elizabeth. She said you are moving out.”
“If she asked you to convince me to stay here, I’ve already made up my mind on moving and nothing will change that.”
“I know, Caroline. But I still wanted to tell you that you shouldn’t leave. Your mom loves to be around you and the twins. How can you take that from her?”
“You don’t live with your mom.”
“We are not talking about me, Caroline. We are talking about you… Do you really want to leave your mom alone in this big house?”
“She has Mark, Taekyung, and Charles,” Caroline countered. “No, she doesn’t. Charles just told me he was going to move in with his girlfriend and apparently, Mark and Taekyung are getting married. And of course, they will move out before or after they get married.”
Caroline closed the running water on the sink and looked at Roxy. “I am not changing my mind. I will move out. Now stop judging my decision when I am not judging you for living with your boyfriend, who you barely know.”
“Says the woman who married a stranger and moved in with him.”
“You are right. I did marry a stranger and I did live with him, but there is a difference between me and you. I did not choose to marry him and I did not choose to live with him. But you, on the other hand, you chose to be with Sebastian and you chose to come all the way from New York to live with him here.”
Roxy glared at Caroline and Caroline raised her eyebrow. She then dried her hands as Roxy walked out of the bathroom. Then, she began to walk after Roxy.
