Jill took a step back. She was really frightened.
She had been working in the hospital for years. Therefore, she had met some fiery people. Besides, she had even experienced a few medical disputes, but there had never been one that was scarier than Marco.
Because Marco had little rest, he was weary. He was burning with anger and his eyes were bloodshot.
Before Jill could find an excuse to run away, she saw Marco suddenly grin. However, the grin disappeared soon. His eyes were still cold, and his face looked very ferocious. He was like an evil ghost.
Jill quickly took out her phone and pretended to be calm. “Sir, please stay with your wife. I have something to do, so I have to go. If you have something urgent, just press the bell on the bedside.”
Jill hurriedly fled this place.
She thought to herself, “Dr. Balan is right. Marco does not care about Kristen at all. Otherwise, how could he not notice the loopholes with the medical report and easily thought Kristen had lied to him?”
Jill thought she had to report this to Antonio as soon as possible so that Kristen wouldn’t get hurt. Thinking about this, Jill ran as fast as her weak legs could carry her.
Marco clenched the reports in his hand. After a long time, he let out a cold laugh.
He opened the door of the ward. It looked a casual movement, but in fact, the knuckles of his hand that gripped the door handle were white, and the veins bulged.
Hearing the noise, Kristen glanced over. When she saw Marco’s calm face, she could not help but tremble.
Kristen had an intuition that Marco was suppressing his anger. After all, she had been with Marco for so many years, she knew his temper very well. But she did not know why he was angry.
She looked up and down and finally fixed her gaze on the paper in his hand. She had good eyesight and vaguely saw that there were two words “medical report” on it. After thinking for a while, she figured out something. It seemed that Marco believed the fake reports that Antonio had made.
Kristen said, “Has my father’s matter been resolved?”
“Do you have anything else to tell me except your dad?” Marco walked to Kristen’s bed.
“Should I say anything else?” Kristen looked at him, pretending to be confused. Then, she suddenly thought of something and asked, “When should we divorce?”
Marco was angrier. Kristen turned around and looked at the ceiling. She said with an imperceptible sneer, “Marco, you don’t think that we can live peacefully in the name of a couple, do you?
“You caused my father to go to jail, and then my family went bankrupt. I lost all my dignity in front of the public when you forced me to kneel in front of the media. Moreover, I almost die in the operation room…” Kristen listed what had happened between them one by one. She said it on purpose. Her heart ached as she tried to get Marco angry.
Her eyes could not help but get wet. She did not want Marco to see her tears, so she closed her eyes.
In Marco’s eyes, Kristen did not want to see him. He thought she was determined to divorce him. What Marco hated the most in his life was being coerced, played around, and deceived.
And Kristen had done all of this. She just repeatedly challenged his endurance. Marco stared at Kristen’s pale face, but he did not in the mood to treat her well as before.
He thought the stomach cancer was just an excuse to divorce him. But he did not want to do as she wished.
Since it was Kristen who proposed to get married, he thought it was not up to her to divorce. Even if Marco died, he would tie her to his side. It had nothing to do with feelings and he just wanted to keep them a nominal couple.
