The temperature dropped after midnight. Kristen shivered and curled up on the ground.
She felt cold as well as pain. Her stomach hurt again. She breathed on her palm and covered her stomach, but she could not stop the pain.
Only medicine could save her, but her medicine was in the drawer. Kristen tried to remove the handcuffs on her left hand. But she couldn’t open the handcuffs, and her wrist was torn red.
Kristen looked in the room, pursed his lips, and took out an egg from her pocket.
Fortunately, this time she had prepared a boiled egg beforehand so that she would not have to eat toilet paper like last time.
She broke the eggshell with one hand and peeled it off bit by bit. People who had stomach problems generally wouldn’t eat egg yolk. But she had no choice.
The egg yolk was so dry that it was hard to swallow. Kristen wanted to drink water. She stared at the bathroom with a yearning.
Last time, she almost starved to death. Will she directly die of thirst this time?
Kristen revealed a bitter smile. Marco was really good at torturing her.
She licked her dry lips and put the half-eaten egg on the ground. She looked up at the sky. The stars had disappeared, and a layer of water fog had appeared on the glass. It was raining.
Kristen’s eyes flashed with a glimmer of hope. She propped herself up and raised her right hand to push open a window. The window was pushed open, but her hand was not that long. She could not touch the rain outside, and she couldn’t drink the rain.
Her throat suddenly became wet. Kristen covered her mouth. Blood flowed out from the corner of her mouth. The blood had been endured for a long time and was dark red.
Her pale face showed extreme pain. Kristen could not help but vomit blood. She was on the ground, and her left hand was hung stiffly on the railing, dragging her entire body.
Kristen collapsed to the ground. Her hair was spread all over the floor, covering her face. She looked through the gap in the drawer that was less than five meters away from her. Her life-saving medicine was inside the drawer.
She felt a dull pain in her stomach, and she let out a hoarse groan. The pain seemed to flow with her blood to her heart. She felt as if her heart was gripped tightly.
Kristen trembled as she raised her right hand. Her face was pale, and an overwhelming sense of despair enveloped her. Tears blurred her vision, and her pupils gradually lost focus.
…
At this time, Kristen was already in a semi-conscious state. She lied weakly on the balcony. There was still a pool of blood under her face. Her hands and legs were full of scratches and wounds. The blood on her white skin was very obvious.
The window was half open, and the cold wind blew the rain on her body. It was very cold. She was originally afraid of the cold very much, and now she didn’t wear much. She tried to keep her consciousness, but she did not even have the strength to open her eyes.
Kristen woke up in the hospital. Before she realized what had happened, she heard someone beside her ring the bell anxiously and ran to the door.
“Dr. Balan, Ms. Lawrence is awake.”
When Kristen heard the name, she knew that she was saved by Antonio again.
“How are you now? Does it still hurt?” Antonio stood beside the bed and looked at Kristen in bed.
Kristen looked at him in confusion and said in a hoarse voice, “It doesn’t hurt, but I feel uncomfortable.” She was weak and had no strength.
Antonio was a doctor. He knew that she was feeling uncomfortable and he knew what she needed. He quickly took a cup of water and helped Kristen up to feed her.
Kristen’s throat was dry and uncomfortable. She gulped down a whole cup of water and felt better.
“Do you want more?” Antonio looked at the cup and asked.
Kristen shook her head weakly.
Antonio put down the cup and let her lean against the back of the bed, “I’ve ordered a bowl of porridge for you.”
Kristen seemed to be lost in thought. It was a long time before she responded to Antonio, “Alright.”
Antonio made a call, handed over the work to the others, and sat beside the bed to accompany Kristen.
Kristen had already regained her consciousness. She felt very guilty as she watched Antonio sit by her bed. “Antonio, you can go and do your work. I’m fine now.”
“I don’t need to work today. Let me accompany you for a while. Since your father died, you have been suppressing your emotions. You are obviously sad, but you don’t say it. If you continue being like this, sooner or later, you will get sick.”
Antonio wanted to talk with her, but she didn’t know what to say. She looked out of the window and asked, “How did you know I was in trouble?”
“You should come to the hospital for a checkup today.”
As soon as Antonio reminded her, Kristen remembered that she was asked to come to the hospital at least once a month for a stomach check.
“I forgot it.”
“I guess so,” Antonio said, “I called you many times but no one answered. When I thought of the toilet paper in your stomach before, I was worried that something like that would happen to you again. So, I went to Band City to find you. Then I saw you…”
“Marco is a beast!” Antonio said furiously.
Antonio would never forget the scene he saw when he broke into Kristen’s house.
Kristen curled up on the ground, her body cold. Her left hand was cuffed and hung on the railing. Her hand was red and her wrist was bruised.
The ground was covered in blood, as well as glass stained with blood. And one could tell what had happened just by looking at these.
At that time, Kristen was close to death and her entire body was as cold as ice. She was so pitiful. Antonio did not know how Marco could do this.
Fortunately, he found Kristen in time and sent her to the hospital. Her left hand was injured. If she was sent to the hospital a little later, her entire arm would have been dislocated.
And her stomach was worse. The cancer spread faster than before. She couldn’t hold on for even a year.
“Thank you for saving me again.” Kristen looked at her bandaged right hand.
