Marco used to dislike Kristen so much. But now he was wondering if their baby looked pretty because Kristen was good-looking.
Marco didn’t know that he had a special feeling for Kristen, who he had hated so much.
“When will Brenda leave the hospital?”
Marco held the steering wheel in his hands, staring straight ahead. He tightened his grip when he heard the question.
“In two days. She is a little upset. When she comes back, you make an apology to her.”
Kristen was amused by this ridiculous request.
“It’s impossible. I didn’t do anything wrong. But to avoid this kind of thing, I decided to go to work. If we can’t see each other, we won’t fight again. What do you think?” Kristen suggested.
Marco narrowed his eyes slightly and replied, “The Lawrence Group has been closed. Where are you going to work?”
“Can’t I find another company in this city?” Kristen retorted.
However, Marco was doubting if a proud and dignified girl like her could endure the judgments of others.
In addition, he was inclined to be possessive about her. In his opinion, Kristen was like a rose that only belonged to him.
She had cut off from her past life and had to accept everything that he gave to her.
To Marco, Kristen was his mistress.
In fact, a mistress had a better life than she had because a mistress was at least doted on by her owner and could get money and luxuries from him.
Kristen was good-looking. There were always many men staring at her when she went out. However, they were still polite to her considering her identity. Now, her family was bankrupt. Their gazes turned greedy as though they were about to tear apart her clothes the next moment.
A wave of anger came over Marco when he thought of it. He couldn’t allow this to happen.
“Stay at home! Don’t go anywhere!”
“Marco, are you crazy? You want Brenda and I to live without fighting, but you restrict my freedom. Do you think you are the King of the world?”
Kristen propped up her chin with one hand and stared out of the window. “You don’t seem to know Brenda. If she continued to provoke me, I would shut her up again.”
“How dare you!” Marco suddenly stepped on the brakes. Kristen was thrown sharply forward. She would have crashed into the front window without wearing a seat belt.
Kristen quickly calmed down and looked at Marco, saying, “You can give it a try. Don’t use Aden to threaten me again. If you push me further, I will just kill myself.”
Kristen’s eyes were firm when she said that as if she had made up her mind.
Marco noticed Kristen had changed. He suspected that someone had said something to her in the hospital, so she dared to threaten him.
However, Marco didn’t take it too seriously because he still had other ways.
They stared at each other, expressionless. There was some serious tension in the car.
In the end, the honking of horns behind stopped them.
Marco stepped on the accelerator, and they headed home without talking with each other again. Marco decided to let Kristen go out to work since she insisted.
He was curious about her reaction when she knew the Balan Group was in dire straits.
