It was Kristen’s style of speaking. Marco placed Brenda on the sofa and said, “Jade, call Dr. Jones.”
Jade glanced at Brenda and immediately turned to make a call.
Kristen took in everything that happened downstairs. She had never done anything evil to Brenda, but Brenda kept setting her up.
“Kristen, what else do you want to say?” Marco looked down on Kristen. He raised his foot and walked upstairs. The sound of his leather shoes stepping on the stairs made Kristen frightened.
At this time, Kristen knew that all her explanations would be excuses for Marco, who was furious and would not listen to Kristen.
Kristen’s face turned extremely pale. She decided in an instant to run back to the bedroom to lock the door. She leaned her back against the door but kept trembling.
“Kristen, open the door,” The voice from outside was that of a devil from hell.
Kristen took a few deep breaths. She raised her hand and bit it, her voice trembling, “Brenda is acting on his own. I didn’t push her. If you don’t believe me, you can watch the surveillance camera!”
“Self-directed and self-acted?” Marco sneered and treated her words as a joke, “She’s not you.”
In Marco’s view, it was Kristen who always put on a show and fooled him. Back then, she had tricked him that she was getting stomach cancer in the hospital.
Marco had once believed in Kristen, but once he didn’t, he immediately noticed the details he had ignored before. Memories began to flood in.
Once Marco was tricked by Kristen, it would be hard for him to trust her again. Moreover, Marco had never trusted Kristen before.
Kristen was stunned and muttered, “I didn’t push her.”
“You say Brenda wronged you, but what about Jade?”
“I did say those words, but I didn’t push her…”
“Enough!” Marco interrupted her harshly, “What you have said to Brenda is unforgivable.”
He never thought that Kristen would have such a bad memory. He had clearly warned her not to do evil things to Brenda not long ago.
This woman needed a lesson. Marco felt angry and warned with cold eyes, “Kristen, open the door. I’ll count to three.”
Kristen knew it would make no difference whether she opened the door or not, so she decided to wait for Marco to calm down before opening the door.
She thought, “But what should I do if Marco was so cruel to confine me for four days once more? There was nothing he could not do.”
“One,” A deep voice came in from outside and disrupted Kristen’s thoughts. Her hands were tightly clasped together and cold sweat was already overflowing from her forehead.
“Two,” He gritted his teeth and spat out this word. His heart was burning with anger. He wondered, “How dare Kristen disobey me?”
Before he could count to three, Marco directly raised his foot and kicked. Though the wooden door was very sturdy, it was also unable to withstand Marco’s strength. The entire door creaked and shook.
Kristen was frightened and did not dare to lean against the door. She looked around helplessly to see if there was anything that could be used to support the door.
She was moving a desk. But before she could get close to the door, it burst out a loud sound, and a crack appeared on it. The door fell.
In just a few minutes, Marco kicked the door open. Kristen was like a frightened rabbit. She immediately hid in the corner, trembling with fear in her eyes.
Marco stepped into the bedroom and smoothed his messy hair. When he saw Kristen hiding in the corner, he sneered. He suppressed the anger in his heart and said coldly, “Kristen, why can’t you be obedient? Are you tired of living?”
The man’s face was calm as he spoke, but Kristen knew that the calmer he was, the angrier he was.
Kristen was afraid. Her lips trembled as she replied, “I did not push her… Trust me…”
Kristen did not dare to look up nor did she dare to close her eyes. Her body curled up on the ground like a dangerous pangolin. She stared at the shadow that was getting closer and closer to her. A pair of black leather shoes came into her vision.
Kristen felt threatened and suffocated.
Marco sat lazily on the bed. He took out a cigarette from his bag and lit it up. He gently took a pull on the cigarette and puffed it. He was surrounded by the smoke with his expressions unable to know.
The room was so quiet that Kristen could hear Marco flicking the ash.
Marco sat in front of her and the smell of smoke drifted into her nose. The ashes fell from her head.
Kristen felt as if her neck was being strangled by a rope. She couldn’t breathe. The intimidating power released from Marco almost crushed her rationality.
She had never seen such a terrifying Marco before. She almost bit her lower lip to stop her teeth from trembling.
“Raise your head.”
Kristen’s shoulders trembled but she did not move.
Marco’s eyes flashed with killing intent, “Do you need me to repeat myself?”
Because she was too afraid that her movements were quite stiff as she slowly raised her head with red eyes.
Marco sneered. He threw the cigarette on the floor and crushed it with his feet. The light turned into a black stain on the floor. The 6 foot 3 inches tall man stood up and looked down at Kristen’s pale face.
