Kristen felt as if her heart had fallen into an ice cellar. Her fear seemed to turn into steel needles that pierced her chest.
At that moment, she couldn’t think of anything else. She wanted to tell Marco about her pregnancy. “Marco, you can’t do this to me. I’m pregnant…”
However, Marco had gone mad. He did not give Kristen a chance to finish her words and pushed her.
Her eyes widened, and her pupils trembled. The last bit of hope in her mind was broken.
Kristen fell down the stairs, rolling down uncontrollably, with her belly hitting the stairs.
Kristen let out a shrill scream, feeling dizzy. The back of her head hit the cold floor heavily. She looked at the aloof figure upstairs. “Marco, you are so cruel…”
There was a sharp pain in her stomach. Her internal organs seemed to have been displaced. Kristen trembled all over. The pain came over again and again. The sound of painful groans came out of her throat. She placed her trembling right hand on her abdomen. She could feel that she was losing the child in her belly.
She had intended to abort it, but she was so sad when she was going to lose it.
She thought, “It was my child, my first child.” There was a burst of wetness under her body. Kristen opened her eyes wide, stunned. Her eyes were dull and her tears kept flowing out. In just a moment, her whole body was wet as if she had soaked in blood.
Marco stood on the second floor, looking down at her downstairs. His clenched hands were trembling, and he, who was angry just now, finally calmed down after seeing the blood on the ground.
He thought, “Why did Kristen bleed so much? It was not serious when Brenda fell from here.”
With no time to think, Marco frantically rushed downstairs to pick up Kristen. He was scared and his hands trembled.
The sharp pain in her belly crushed Kristen’s last bit of consciousness. She leaned weakly in his arms, with her face turning pale as she stared at his lower jaw.
“Marco!” Kristen turned his painful moans into calling his name, her trembling voice filled with sorrow.
She slowly opened her mouth and bit the clothes on Marco’s chest. Her throat made a creaking sound and she vomited a mouthful of blood that instantly dyed his left chest red.
The woman in his arms was covered in blood, and the surroundings were covered with a thick smell of blood.
Marco’s legs were limp as he hugged Kristen. His hands were trembling as he ran to the garage. He placed Kristen in the back seat and hurriedly fastened the safety belt for her.
“Kristen, don’t sleep. I’ll take you to the hospital.”
Kristen could not hear any voices. She felt painful and cold. She squinted her eyes and looked at the swallow flying by the window.
Kristen’s hand was still on her abdomen. She wanted to feel the movement inside her belly. But there was no movement inside.
She knew that the kid in her belly was gone. It hadn’t been delivered and was killed.
Marco sat in the driver’s seat. He stepped on the accelerator with his right foot. After driving the car out, he quickly called the ambulance. After confirming that the ambulance was taking that route, he stepped on the accelerator to the maximum. He pressed the horn all the way and continuously ran the red light.
Marco looked at the route in front of him while looking at Kristen in the rearview mirror. Her face was pale.
Marco felt like he was about to go crazy. His eyes were bloodshot as he gritted his teeth and said angrily, “Kristen, what happened to you? What did you hide from me?”
