I hugged Yunifer tightly and she did the same, not wanting to let me go. After a moment, we parted the hugs and looked at each other dearly.
“Luna, I will surely miss you,” said Yunifer tearfully, wiping the tears that flooded her eyes.
“But we had just met?” I said sarcastically, caressing her cheeks with one hand.
She pouted like a child and complained grumpily, “Not meeting you for a moment already feels like a thousand years for me.”
I chuckled and touched her tall nose, then pinched it. “Then we will meet the day after tomorrow.”
Yunifer shook her head in disagreement. “No! Just meeting once did not satisfy me!”
“Then what do you want?” I asked gently.
Yunifer clasped my hands and beamed. “We need to meet everyday! There are many things I want to show you! We can play together and have fun trying something new!”
I patted her head and nodded in reply. “Sure.”
“Yahoo!” Yunifer cheered happily. She walked to her carriage accompanied by her maids and held by her guards. Before she rode her carriage, she turned around, looking over her shoulders.
“Luna, don’t be so sad! I will visit you more often now! Just wait for me!” she yelled and waved her hand.
I waved back and replied, “Yeah, I will wait for you! Let’s play together sometimes!”
Yunifer laughed. “Alright!”
I watched her silently with a smile on my face as her carriage strode past the dukedom and disappeared before my eyes.

I threw my body lazily on a chair and flattened myself against it, sighing. “Yunifer had gone home, I could hardly wait for her to come by.”
Fwoosh!
Ugh, the wind. I grunted. My hair was so messy because it was blown by the wind. My golden hair fell into my eyes and I ran a hand through my hair, intending to fix it. Intending to close it, I slowly stood up from my seat and walked to the windows.
Bzzz…
I could feel the chillness of the evening’s air. My gaze fell on the blooming flowers on the ground.
How beautiful! I really want to pick it up and smell its fragrant smell.
I hastily grabbed my coat and went down the stairs. I stepped swiftly towards the garden, passing Blaire, my maid who was carrying a trolley of cakes and sweets.
“Milady, where are you going?” she asked curiously.
“I’m heading to the garden,” I answered shortly.
“Ah!” Blaire gasped. “Do you want to have a picnic there?”
I shook my head vigorously. “No, I only want to take a stroll along the garden and admire the flowers.”
Blaire nodded. “Then I will leave this food in your room in case you are hungry.” She strode away, pulling her trolley. Her body disappeared behind the pillars and her footsteps could be heard as she stepped on the spiral stairs.
I continued my walk. As I reached the garden, I was left speechless by its beauty. In the hug of the coat, my spirit lifted and joined the carefree breeze.
I plucked the rose flower and gently brought it closer to my nose. How fragrant!
Suddenly I heard a loud sound coming from behind me.
Tang! Ting! Tang!
I looked back and searched for the sources. The sound was coming from the left side.
A sound like rumbling was away like in three hundred metres. I squinted, now I know where the sound was coming from. It was from the training ground, must be the knights who were practising with each other.
I brushed aside the bushes that hide my view in order to see clearly. A group of knights were practicing on the training ground. I continue watching them in amazement of how they drew out their swords and attacked their opponents.
“AH!”
The young knight slipped his swords.
“Oh no!” he cried.
His sword flew up into the air and headed in my direction very quickly. It happened in a flash. I was stunned. The sword was going to hit me if I did not move.
I was sure I would die if the sword hit me. I squeezed my eyes shut, preparing for the possibility.
“Watch out!”
Just then, a large hand pushed me away roughly.
Thud!
“Ugh!” I groaned.
I fell to the rocky ground with a thud. Hissing in pain, I glared at the person who just pushed me away. He was like six feets tall and had darker skin, probably due to being exposed under the scorching sun for hours.
“Are you alright, miss? I deeply apologize. My name is Jacob, the new knight’s instructor,” the man said apologetically and reached out his hand, offering to help me up. “I hope you are not injured.”
“… I’m … fine,” I panted, still a bit shocked. Refusing to take his hand, I staggered. I got to my feet by myself and smoothed down the wrinkles on my dress. Jacob stared at me awkwardly before withdrawing his hand.
“Thank you,” I said sincerely.
He scratched his head, hesitating and said, “We really did not see any passer-by here, so please forgive us.”
Then, I heard crumpled leaves that being stepped on heavily. Two men came forward, running to our directions. They panted and cried, “Milady!”
Their forehead was covered with sweat and I gazed at their chest and the scars that seemed to have been cut from the previous fight. Stuttering, they cursed a lot.
Jacob jumped and looked around frightenedly, “W-what lady? The lady is here?”
I sniggered. This young man probably did not recognize me.
“Ah! Lady Lunaria, we did not see you there!” said the first man, bowing to 90 degrees.
I looked over my shoulder. My heart was now pumping harder and faster than ever. Ah … it was them. I bit my lower lip.
I stared at them with an expression of purest loathing. I clenched the hem of my robes tightly.
The men who were coming to my side just now are my knights. They are called Isaiah and Moses. One of the traitors that betrayed me and lead to my ruins! These so-called knights that vowed to protect me did not did their job perfectly when I was in trouble. I wondered how they had gotten chosen to guard me when their skills are lacking. Must be a bad sight for someone who chose them.
And they are also the one … who … who … ruined my daughter! These people … look like we met again! I will never let those two go …
Never!
They should pay for the crimes they committed!
Even though I have not given birth to my daughter yet, they should make up for their crimes towards the other ladies in the empire!
I took a great gulp of breath, and forced myself into giving them a sweet smile. “I’m fine … thanks for worrying me.” I assured them while speaking in a high-pitched falsely sweet tone.
“W-what? You … are … the lady … ?” asked Jacob, looking taken aback and temporarily dumbstruck.
Isaiah paid no attention to him. He stepped forward. “Milady, what are you doing here?”
My stomach made a great leap. The legs moved, without knowing, stepping back from the men in the front.
“Why? I could not come here whenever I want to?” I asked in tones of mock concern.
“Er- no, it’s not like that … I’m just asking why you are here without your guards with you. It could be dangerous when you get hit by the sword,” spoke Moses, the blue-hair knight. Step by step the two approached me.
And whenever they approached that way, I too took a step back. There was a distance between them and me that would never be narrowed. After seeing my sudden movements, the footsteps stopped. Probably they knew that they were making me feel uncomfortable.
“And whose sword is it—?”
I shifted my glances towards Moses then turned to Isaiah.
“—Yours?”
Isaiah turned pink and lowered his face. So it was him, I told myself.
“Milady, it is already dark. It’s best if you go inside now,” Jacob interrupted, who turning red like a tomato. I guess, maybe because he already knew my status and the differences between us, he became much more refined.
I nodded. “Yeah, I want to go too, I’m afraid if I stay here any longer I would probably die being killed by a sword,” I said sarcastically.
Now it was their turn to be ashamed. Their faces were flushed in bright red. Knowing it was their mistake, they apologized for being careless and promised to check their surroundings when they practised swordsmanship.
At first, they were terrified when I was about to lose my life and I considered to tell Cervantes about this, but after I reassured them that it was just an accident, all of them sighed in relief.
Then, Jacob escorted me off to the house after I refused to be accompanied by Isaiah and Moses. Even though they are my knights, the discomfort and displeasure I felt around them sickened me. I could not bear to stand around them for a long time because I fear, I might jump to choke them.
After we arrived in my room, Jacob bowed to me and hurriedly walked away. I closed the door immediately behind me, my face hardened.
I walked over to my bed and sat on the edge. Buried my face to my knees, my hands gripping the hair.
Phew! I sighed in relief. I repeatedly stroked my face.
Ha… Really, why do I have to face those two again? I gritted my teeth.
The scene of the tragic night suddenly popped in my head. The cries of my daughter who was begging to keep her head intact and her struggles to live in this cruel world screamed altogether inside my head. And then, I heard it again, the familiar voices turned to be so cruel and vicious where they mercilessly killed her.
I hid my face into my pillow, exceptionally glad that no one could see what I was doing. I only hope no one would come to my room and also the pillow could hide my tears of sorrow.
That evening, I cried in mourning my daughter who did not exist in this life yet. But as a mother, I felt incredibly sad about her tragic fate. Those knights, Isaiah and Moses, I never forgive them! Never! I will make sure you feel the same pain of what she felt in the midst of dying!

Blaire took out my clothes one after another and placed them on her arms. Then she turned to face me. “I had soaked the flowers into your bath, I hope you would enjoy it.”
“I will. Thanks Blaire.” Blaire smiled curtly and left me in the bathroom alone.
I dipped my feet in the water. Warm. I slowly dipped the rest of my body.
I drowned myself into the water and only came back to the surface after a few minutes. I have always done this whenever I want some peace and to calm down my thoughts. Right now, I was thinking about what I should do to the traitors and my revenge for the future. They should suffer a tragic end, only then I would be satisfied.
After soaking in the water, I went out and put a nightgown which Blaire had prepared earlier on my body.
I walked to the closet and opened it. Tons of beautiful and expensive dresses were stuffed in the closet.
Down to oversize adult dresses that were not suitable for my body, the overly large ribbon that decorated all the higher-up parts and inappropriate bright colours of choice made me feel extremely dizzy.
I massaged my forehead, sighing. “Oh dear … My past self, why do you like these things?”
First and foremost, I need to buy more suitable dresses for my age. My fashion sense is indeed terrible, huh? Now, I’m slightly ashamed of my past self. How ridiculous it would be for myself to wear these kinds of dresses.
