I picked the fork on the table and shoved it towards Gina’s eyes. The distance is only around an inch from her eyes.
It was then when—
“Kyaaaaaaa!!!”
She yelled on top of the lung and unconsciously turned her head away. The fork flied on the air when she slapped it reflexively.
She wrapped her arms around herself, her skin chilled from the cold. The teeth in her mouth chattered together relentlessly and uncontrollably, and she couldn’t help herself from shaking.
“M-Milady… A-Ah… I-I…”
She blinked her brown eyes a few times before she broke into tears. Her body became stiffened as hard as a rock.
“Why do you slap it? I want to gouge your eyes.”
I glared.
“Milady, I’m so sorry! Please…Please forgive me!”
She wrapped her hands around my legs and continued to beg for forgivance. Her snot almost covered my dress. I pushed her away, throwing her a dark look.
“You know what, I like it when you begging. Do it again.”
A delicious shiver ran down my spine. My lips curved into a sly smirk and my eyes crinkled at the edges.
I tilted my head back and cackling with brutal, malicious laugh, just like the laughter of a madman. Ah, I’m crazy.
I wonder if both Karina and Rexiald were to beg and bow before me… Oh, I can’t wait to see such scene!
Blaire and Cervantes looked at me with worried eyes. Ah, I forgot they were here. I should stop.
“Ahem.”
I coughed and cleared my throat before I spoke.
“Guards, take away this maid and throw her into the cell.”
“Wait. That kind of punishment is too light, milady. She should be sentenced to commensurate with what she did.”
“Oh? So what do you suggest?”
I asked curiously. I was interested in what Cervantes had to say. Too light? I wondered what kind of punishment she suited for.
“In my opinion, she should be sentenced according to Lisianthus Rules. Number 34— whoever dare to take the belonging of their master without their consent should be cut both of their hands.”
Gina who heard this became even more agitated and struggled from the grip of the guards, trying to escape. She was panicked.
“Noooo! I don’t want my hands to be cut!!!”
Hmm… Saying that was too light was not correct. But since it was for all the things Gina had done wrong, I think it was acceptable.
Moreover, for Gina who had a huge pride, it’d be a humiliate for her for the rest of her life. Even in the society no one will dare to marry her after this.
Besides, just the thought of her struggling to survive with no hands made me shuddered in excitement.
I’m looking forward to see how she manage to feed herself later. Oh, how thrilling! I can’t wait to see her ugly expression!
“Okay then, let’s do that, Cervantes.”
I grinned.
It’s a pity the punishment was too light for you. Actually, I’d rather want you to be beheaded so you know the feeling what I had gone through in the past.

“Blaire, do you have anything to say?”
I noticed that Blaire was fidgeting and kept staring at me along the way to the drawing room.
She somehow seemed hesitant to speak as she sometimes opened her mouth and quickly closed it when I glanced at her.
I frowned.
“Uh…”
Her face looked like she was in a mess. Her lower lip trembled.
“I-I’m sorry, milady!”
She bowed, squeezing her dress.
“…What?”
I uttered in disbelief.
“It’s rude of me to behave that way in front of milady just now!”
Oh, did she meant the way she talked to Gina?
“Milady, t-to be honest, I’m not usually like this. I just like this when I confront that bit- girl. So I hope you don’t think myself as impudent.”
“Don’t worry, I know your real behavior.”
“!”
“And that you are a bold girl.”
“Milady!”
Her face flushed before looking away.
“Pfft.”
I burst into laughing. God, she’s so funny. It’s not like I know Blaire only yesterday. In fact, it’s almost three decades.
Unlike Gina who always pretend to be weak, she’s different. She’s bold, brave and brutally blunt. She doesn’t care about people’s opinion nor their perspectives towards her.
That’s what I like about her the most. Well-spoken, true to herself, and most importantly, she’s loyal to her master to the point she will shed her blood just to protect me.
My eyes dimmed.
Blaire had a tragic past when she served me in the previous life. During our journey to a region we were suddenly under attacked by a group of bandits.
It was Blaire who shield me from the dagger. I tried to save her using my medical kit, but unfortunately, her wound was too severe to heal.
Until now, her last words before dying still engraved deep in my memory.
“Your Majesty, you should go. Please leave me behind so it won’t delay your journey.”
“No!!! No matter what, I will save you! So bear it!”
I cried, holding her wounded body.
“Your Majesty, the bandits will come here soon. It’s not good if they found us already. Please leave.”
“Do you not understand what I said? I won’t leave you!”
“But I’m just a maid. Compare to Your Majesty’s safety, even if I’m no longer in this world, people won’t care about me anyway.”
She took a deep breath before speaking.
“Huff…Huff… Your Majesty, go now. They’re almost here. Hurry!”
She groaned in pain, putting her hand on her stomach where she was stabbed to prevent any more blood loss. She was covered in sweat and her breathing became slower as time passed.
“Hiks… Hiks… Y-you… D-Don’t die… okay?”
“…”
“You must not go anywhere! Wait here till I ask for help! This is an order! Do you understand?”
She nodded and smiled weakly, the look on her almost showed like she had already give up on her life.
It took me a long journey to get help because there was no one in the forest. My feet was scratched badly as I ran away with bare feet and my luxurious empress dress was torn being ripped by the thorns.
Luckily, I was rescued by a kind-hearted young man. As soon as I got help, I rushed to her side only to find out she passed away. Leaving this world unfairly.
What broke my heart the most was when she heeded my order by staying at the same place without going anywhere. Her corpse was eaten by a flock of crows, ripping her skin.
On the ground, there were words written with blood. It said,
[ Your Majesty, thank you for everything. Please live your life to the fullest and please forget about me. Thank you for being so kind to me. Now I can live my life in the heaven. ]
“Urk… Urk… Huwaaaa…”
My vision was blurry, it was difficult for me to see clearly. Tears split over and flowed down my face like a river escaping a dam. An involuntary whimper escaped from my lips.
I felt like shattering, even now the world seem to collapse around me. There was something to be said for how long I hold myself together, keep moving on to continue the day without her.
There was once I had thought to commit suicide, but I hold it back because of her last words: to live well.
With a tap on my shoulder from Blaire, I quickly came back to my sense. I didn’t realize I was staring at her for a long time, completely lost in thoughts.
“Milady, are you alright?”
Blaire looked at me with worried eyes.
“Blaire.”
“…Yes?”
“Don’t conceal your true face. It’s more endearing when you act like yourself and I will never ever hate you.”
I smiled. She stunned and nodded her head, replying weakly,
“…I understand.”
Now that’s even better.
“Now, why don’t you make tea for me?”
“Yes!”
She smiled brightly.
Blaire, in the past I couldn’t protect you. Part of me still blamed myself for your death. But since I had traveled back in time, I’ll tried my best to prevent your death and make sure you’ll stay by my side until I’m no longer in this world.
This is a promise.
