I followed Blaire’s movement as she brewed the tea in front of me earnestly. In the next moment, the tea fragrant aroma has already filled the air.
Then, Blaire put the tea on the table carefully alongside the scones and pastries.
I took a sip.
“Hmm … Looks like your brewing skill has already improved.”
Blaire’s face lit up, looking quite overwhelmed.
“Yes … I had worked up on it to let you have a taste ever since you woke up.”
I licked my lips and couldn’t help but grinned.
“It’s delicious,” I praised.
“Yes, indeed. It’s called Earl Grey tea and is one of the best and high quality tea from the south,” Blaire explained enthusiastically.
“I see. “
I noticed that Blaire was still staring at me, so I couldn’t help but blinked.
“Blaire, what’s wrong?”
Blaire smiled, her expression seemed to be filled with content.
“Nothing much. I just feel happy in my heart.”
Was it because Gina already being arrested?
“Was it about Gina?” I asked.
However, Blaire shook her head.
“It’s not about Gina. I feel happy because milady could smile at ease right now. Lately, ever since milady had woken up, milady will always frown as if thinking something. I thought that it was something serious so I felt troubled back then. But now … “
Ah … She was talking about what I had planned for revenge. Looks like I had made her worried.
I hesitated for a moment before holding Blaire’s hands and slowly said, “I was thinking too much. But don’t worry, as long as you’re here with me, then I could spend my life without worrying anything.”
“Milady … you… you are … exaggerating things… ” Blaire mumbled and had gone slightly pink around the ears, though looking rather pleased all the same.
“But milady, may I ask you a question?”
I tilted my head and stared intently at Blaire.
“What is it?”
“Today, I couldn’t help but notice that you had been smiling all day long. Is there something that pleased you to such extent?”
“Oh … that …”
I put down my teacup gently on the table.
“Oh, it’s nothing. I just had a funny dream last night.”
I chuckled.
“Really? What was it, then?” asked Blaire.
“It’s a dream about a crow. The crow was being caged after being caught stealing. Then the owner, enraged by it betrayal, prisoned it for days, not giving it any food.”
Blaire tilted her head and frowned, looking as though wondering whether it was a hilarious dream.
I continued, “Later, the crow died. And that’s the end of the story.”
Blaire stared at me blankly, then blinked.
“Oh, it’s the end? That’s it?”
I laughed even harder when I saw she wore a confuse look on her face. She might have thought I was weird for smiling all day just because of a stupid dream.
“Of course.” I told her meaningfully.
There was no way telling you the full story of it. After all the true story was even more violent and had a dark meaning behind it.
I smirked. I was actually referring to my activity last night. Oh, such a great entertainment to see Gina in such way! I feel delight just by hearing her wail and struggling to keep alive. By the end of it, she was barely made it.
Anyway, this may be my personal entertainment activity from now on. It was really addictive that I don’t think I could sleep soundly tonight.
Hmm …. Should I visit her tonight again?
That would be better. My lips curled into a sly smirk.
I threw my gaze on the desk, which didn’t look like a desk anymore, as it had been buried under a pile of gifts sent by the other noble ladies. They had just arrived this morning.
It was terrible. They were still many of them but I just took the important ones only. The rest of them I asked Cervantes to put it in another room. Or they might flooded my room.
I stood up and walked slowly to the desk and picked up a random letter. It had an eagle crest on it.
I opened it and read it aloud:
…[Dear Lady Lunaria,…
…I had heard about your awakening news recently. How are you? I hope you are in your best health now….
…I wish to invite you to a gathering party that I host this weekend if you have free time. I’d be glad if you attend it. There are many ladies out there who want to hear your story. I hope my request wouldn’t be a bother to you….
…Do write to me soon. I’m waiting….
…Yours sincerely,…
…Alvita Whittaker.]…
Simple, short and packed. I scoffed.
As expected from Lady Alvita Whittaker. Never a moment she had been so caring about my health. What she need was only a gossip about me. Never truly care about me whatsoever.
I opened the next letter which was from Lady Priscilla Lynnch and threw it away immediately after I read it. It was also the same.
After a few hours, I flattened myself against my chair, too tired to read the rest of them. I decided to read then later.
All of them were filled with invitations to their party. Not one of them really cared about my health.
I sighed. I wanted nothing more than to reject all their invitations. It was good to be the centre of attention as I intended to attract as many people as I can. But, it was just too tiring and annoying.
Do I really need to attend all these parties? Seemed boring to me. Plus, it’s useless, aside from making connections.
“You can choose if you want to attend my lady. I’m sure they will understand you,” said a voice suddenly coming from behind me.
I jolted and wheeled around, frowning.
“Oh, it’s you, Blaire. You’ve given me quite a fright.”
Blaire smiled sheepishly.
“Of course, you are. You never look at me as soon as you received those letters.” She giggled, and raised her eyebrows. “But I’m sure you will feel excited if you read this now. “
She handed me a blue wrapped box with purple flowers on it. My eyes grew wider.
No way…
I instantly snatched it away from Blaire, ignoring her giggles. Then I read it several times and checked the sender and the address to make sure it was really sent to me.
…[Dear Lunaria, my lovely best friend,…
…My heart lightened when I received your letter a few days ago. You don’t know how I jumped in my room about how happy I was. (And, still is.)…
…I plan to visit you tomorrow if you have free time. There’s loads of things I need to tell you and I couldn’t write it here in this letter, because I’m afraid it will be too long. You know what my brother like? He obviously will nag me later if I finish the whole ink bottle. And my hands will be sore from writing all the stuffs that happened these past few years, so I hope I could meet you face to face. —-…
…(I laughed. So cute, I thought.)…
…Another thing is, I will never forget about you, Luna, my dearest best friend. I don’t know how you got that thought but trust me, I’ll always stay by your side….
…I have to sign off now. My annoying brother will punished me later for skipping my punishment. (He’s been sensitive lately, I wonder if he got through puberty, not that I care, anyway.)…
…I’ve been missing you a lot. —-…
…(“Awww~” I squealed.)…
…See you soon!…
…P.S : I include the flower rings we made together….
…Love,…
…Yunifer Dalfon.]…
I held the letter close to my heart and kissed it numerous times without stopping.
“Happy?” asked Blaire, smiling.
“You don’t know and you don’t want to know,” I replied sarcastically.
Blaire let out a roar of laughter and strolled around the room. She gave me a piece of parchment, a quill and a bottle of ink.
I quickly wrote the letter. After I finished, I reread it again, making sure there was no mistakes. Then, I gave it to Blaire.
I stretched my arms up in the air. God, so exhausted. There was still many things I need to prepare for tomorrow.
