The whole week have passed and all I can say is that, I am being stalked by a kid from the school.
I can always feel someone watching me from behind wherever I go during breaktime and everytime I try to catch him, he will swiftly run away as if he is an expert in hiding and running away.
When the weekend finally arrives, I felt a sense of relief thinking how I will be free from that kid. I am planning to just stay holed up in my house for two days but unfortunately my brother called me and asked to meet him out while he is still in the city.
“Satoshi where are you? I’m already here at the cafe where you told me to meet.” I called him because I was already waiting for almost half an hour for him to arrive.
“Oh sorry, I was caught up by the traffic here so I think I will be a bit more late. Just order whatever you want and I will pay it for you. Bye.” And then he hang for it seems that he is in the middle of driving.
Scanning through the menu, I found my favorite creamcheese cake and so I called for a waiter to get my order.
“What is your order sir?”suddenly I heard a familiar voice.
I looked up and saw a familiar face that I think I have seen before. I just act naturally while telling my order while I am still thinking where did I see this guy from.
Hmmm….
“Sorry for the wait Hisa.” My brother finally arrive while I am still busy trying to remember who is that guy.
“How’s your work this days?” He casually asked to start our conversation.
“I’m doing fine, only few problem children this days.”
“Well that’s good to hear, by the way..”
“Here is your order sir.”instead of the familiar waiter that took my order, a girl appeared and served my cake.
“Oh can you take my order as well? One slice of ….” Satoshi started ordering for himself while I am still occupied by my thoughts.
We just have a chat for almost the whole afternoon and listen to how he complains about the difference if being an engaged man and a bachelor. It was fun talking to each other until our subject of conversation turned towards me.
“Hisashi, when will you introduce your lover to us? It’s been years but you still haven’t got a new girlfriend since you entered in the university.”
“Well that is none of your business bro. You should be more wary of how to keep your relationship strong before your wedding.” I stirred the conversion away from me.
“Hahaha, well good luck to both of us.”
After that, we parted ways and I finally got home.
When Monday came, I dragged myself to go to school. I still can’t solve the issue about that student following me and so I decided to consult it with Sakaguchi-san if I can’t solve it for today.
When lunch break started, I was alarmed when a box was left on my desk and when I asked everyone about it, they told me that they didn’t see anyone bringing it there because they were all out for lunch.
Everything finally make sense when I opened the box. It is a slice of cream cheese cake, the same cake I oredered in the cafe the other day.
It was that waiter, the kid who was stalking me the whole time.
“Sakaguchi-san, can I borrow your homeroom class records?” I asked to see all the records and pictures of all the students in her class.
I scanned the files until I saw the familiar name I didn’t even notice for the whole week.
Odagiri Miyoshi
The kid who collapsed on the first day and was rumored to be an ex-deliquent.
His presence in the class is so low that I almost forgotten about him and how we first met. I didn’t even notice that he is the same guy that every other teacher was telling me to be wary of because he is so behaved that I cannot almost see him. And besides, it was not part of routine to make a roll call every start of my classes.
I run out of the office until I reached their classroom but he was not there. I continued searching until I spotted him from his usual hiding spot from where I always eat my lunch.
I sneaked in behind him and finally grabbed his shoulders from behind.
“Finally caught you.”
