The person he hated the most… what on earth did I do to deserve that title? Ever since that day, Michael hasn’t touched me once. I threw out my d*ldo… it didn’t feel right anymore.
I worked in silence, finishing reports. When he left, I waited a few minutes before leaving myself. I had to take the train home, since he no longer dropped me back home.
Arriving back to my penthouse suite, I dropped my bag and collapsed onto my sofa. Knox came out of the kitchen and smiled. “Your meal is ready, My Lady. Are you sure that you don’t require my services when it comes to picking you up?” I shook my head and smiled at my butler.
“No. The train ride home allows me to clear my head a little. I’m fine, really.” But I wasn’t. Not talking to Michael made it more painful than rough s*x. He didn’t even touch me…
“Knox… you wouldn’t know by chance why Mich-, I mean CEO Jones is angry, would you?” He looked at me and quickly turned his head away. He knows something and he isn’t telling me!
“Knox, please! I need to understand what’s going on!” He looked at me and then sighed. “I’ve been CEO Jones butler and assistant ever since he built up Wonder Group. Things were tough. His age made people not take his seriously. It was tough, but he kept on going.”
“How?” I need to know more about him. He then smiled and looked right at me. “He thought of you, My Lady.” Hold on, me? I pointed to myself, chuckling. “That’s impossible. I didn’t know him.” He shook his head.
“No. You once knew him. In summer 2012, he attended a high orientation. He saw you give an opening speech, and despite you being a year younger than him, the Master thought of you as more mature than most adults.”
I remember that… the Headmaster had asked for me to make the opening speech. I could still remember every word that I said.
“One day, I’ll be on top of the world! And if I’m not and you surpass me, come and collect your prize! The deadline is when I turn 18! I’ll find you then! I give you my word!”
“And? The prize was going to be a melted caramel in my pocket!” Knox sighed. “The Young Master took it as a proposal.” Proposal… “Hold on, a MARRIAGE PROPOSAL?”
“Y-You’ve got to be joking… he believed that I was proposing marriage in exchange for that bet?” He nodded. “I tried telling him that it was a silly childhood promise and that he shouldn’t take it seriously, but he didn’t listen me. He really trusted you, and once your 18th birthday came, he sat outside of his company for two days.”
Two days? “He refused to come inside and then, he made everyone look for you. That’s how you got the secretarial position and then, you-” “… walked into the wolf’s den.”
I need to find him… I need to talk to him. I hurt him, and even if it wasn’t on purpose, it happened. I need to apologise… I need to make things right!
