Dominic walked towards the dining area and as informed by Jeffery the Wuxian family was also seated at the table along with their daughter Mimi WuXain.
“Good evening mother and father” he greeted his family with respect, then he turned his attention to the WuXian family “Mr and Mrs Wuxian, my greetings too you as well Miss WuXain” he said coldly with a slight nod before taking a seat next to his mother.
“Dominic, darling your here, did I hear someone with you” she asked looking beyond Dominic to see if there was anyone else.
” Yes Michael” he answered softly giving his mother a slight nod again.
“Ohh goodie, where is he, tell him to come quickly” she beamed, she had long since loved Michael as a son, his bright personality though sometimes making you want to smack him over his head was always a pleasure to have around. herseld and Michaels mother was also childhood friends, when they were living in America Michael naturally became a frequent visitor to their home.
“He’s in his room getting changed” Dominic responded with no intention of adding further.
Soon his mother was interrupted by his father, “Son, how is the new merger coming along at work?” he asked in a Monotonic tone.
one would say that Dominic was a carbon copy of his father all dominance and very little in way of showing outside people affection.
“Daniel has done the analysis today and it seems it will yield us favourable in the future” Dominic spoke focusing is attention fully on his father and using a respectful tone.
Upon hearing what Dominic said Mimi WuXain who was sat next to her mother and father, ears perked up almost getting giddy at the thought, her mother and father also shared her a look ans lightly smirked, which they thought was unnoticed by those around them, but little do they know of Dominic and his all seeing all knowing ways.
“You have such a diligent son, Mr. Lanxian, unfortunately our son passed away many years ago, maybe he would have been just at successful as Dominic” stated Mr. Bao WuXain with a sad expression.
“How long has it been now since he passed away” asked Mrs Lanxian concerned that they may have touched on a touchy topic, and having just now unintentionally boasted about their sons achievements.
“It’s been nine years, and there’s not a day that we don’t think of and miss him” Mimi said on the verge of tears.
“Oh dear don’t cry, it’s okay just continue to be a good daughter to your parents, your all they have left” exclaimed Mrs Lanxian affectionately holding Dominics hand thanking the skies she still has her two sons with her safe and sound.
Dominic on the other hand stared expressionless at them knowing fully well knowing the truth behind their fake performance, but didn’t dear to call them out on their what he could only view as “bullshit”.
Just then Michael walked in with a big smile on his face not knowing the just prior awkward conversation. “Aunty, uncle, your favourite nephew is here, and good evening to your guests, I am Michael Jones, Dominics best friend”. He said whislt looking at the Wuxain family, awaiting that expectant puzzled expressions on their faces that he has become accustomed to. Whenever he introduces himself as Dominics close friend people often pause and become puzzled, and as if on queue they looked at Michael then back to the Lanxian family with a ‘huh’ expression before awkwardly returning the greeting. Not deterred by their actions Michael cheerfully, took his seat opposite Dominic.
Dominics father who had felt the change in atmosphere but was always puzzled aswell by others reaction to Michael spoke immediately. “Michael, you’re back, how was your travels? Your mother said you were away for some business” Mr Lanxian spoke calmly and firmly making it clear that Michael was very much a respectable member of their family.
“Oh very well thank you uncle, considering the boss I have, it was like knocking the ball out the park” Micheal said while stealing a glance at Dominic.
“That’s good to hear dear, but it’s no excuse not to call your mother more often, she’s been calling complaining what a feral son you are, going around destroying these young women innocence” Mrs Lanxian scolded Michael who was already expecting this, as his own mother constantly bickers as him about his *****-ish behaviour.
“Aunty if they were so innocent they wouldn’t so freely give me their innocence now would they?” Michael said flashing that winning smile of his “am simply, setting some teachable moments hehe!” Michael smirk while winking at Dominic.
“What kind of a teachable moment is that!? Look at Dominic he’s been committed to keeping himself for his true love, you could take a leaf out of his book” Mrs Lanxian said sternly while looking coldly at Michael.
“Aunty am only building experience for the right one, so I can blow their mind when the time comes” Michael said without a hint of embarrassment, totally shocking the whole table expect Dominic ofcourse who’s was very much well use to this behaviour.
“yo…you..” exclaimed Mr Lanxian who couldn’t even outer the words needed to reprimand this child.
Mrs WuXain quickly grabbed onto Mimi hands hoping to set a clear distance between themselves and Michael, he quickly noticed and made it clear of his standard in a underhanded way. “Though I may have quite a bit of experience in ways of partners, it doesn’t mean everyone is suitable for a night with me, some people no matter how they pretend to be delicate and honourable has done far worst than me, you never know who you’re sharing your dinner with” he said while nonchalantly popping a caviar into his mouth.
