Why did I bear for years, this passion disguised
And pine and ache to ‘perhaps’ unrequited like;
When all of it is wipes slates in memories fresh,
dying is love that couldn’t cherish your smile
I fawned, flustered, and lived in those stares.
The twines you wove, those… I snapped to tear
Afraid, my feelings; they loved to deny.
I would rather not confess, then again to cry
It was the last day too, the last time we’d meet
leaving a ‘me’ in the ‘you’ was a greed too sweet
I didn’t turn back; only wishing to have stayed
But when bridges crumble down; I know I will say
A word of farewell, an apology to the past
What if I hadn’t turned away? What if I asked?
Too late now, to hold your hand and smile
Till we meet again, let me be beguiled
Distanced, were we two parallel lines?
Or were we never drawn on the same sheet…
Papers cut and letters love. They never align.
So let me love you, as long as eternity
Till I learn to forget how to.
