He gently held me on the desk, his sudden impulsive jump on me making me wonder if he was alright. “Are you alright, Killian? Do you have a fever?” I put my hand onto his forehead, making him blush even more.
Like a child, he quickly turned away and frowned. “I just… wanted to check something.” I chuckled. “Check for what? That I hadn’t been with another man?”
He didn’t reply, which meant that I had hit the nail right on the head. I then ruffled his hair gently, making him look me in the eye again. “You are starting to become possessive of me. You want me to only look at you, to only talk to you, to only be seen by you…”
“What if I was…” He grabbed my wrist, his expression changing into something deeper. “If I asked you to remain confined in my room, would you stay there obediently? Would you love me and only me?”
Love… what a fool’s word. Humans believe that something like love actually exists. That it has meaning in everything we do. To me, love is a poison if yielded properly. Humans are guillable like that. All you need is a pretty face and some perfume and they’ll be begging for you non-stop.
“No. That would make me hate you, Killian. And you wouldn’t want that. Now, I’ve got to be off. I am to get dressed into my outfit for tonight’s festivities.” He smiled. “This dress isn’t it? What colour is it?”
I smiled. “As white as your beautiful hair and as black as ink, of course.” Flattering words… that’s what humans fall in love with.
As I dusted myself off, Killian then called for me. “Xena…”
His lips met mine once again, his touch sending sparks across this body. Why was this body so sensitive to his touch? He then smiled and looked right into my eyes.
“I want to dance with you…” I smiled. “You’ll have to wait your turn then…” He smiled and shook his head. “I want to dance with you right now, Xena.”
He lead me out onto the balcony and placed his hands around my waist. We slowly performed a waltz, without music or tempo. The only thing keeping us in sync was our beating hearts.
He twirled me around, holding my hands as he made me look right at him. The chill from the air brought a deep red onto my cheeks and suddenly, specks of white started to fall from the sky.
They landed into my hair, making it look like little pearls were slowly melting amongst the strands. “Tonight, I need you to do something very special for me. Can you do that?”
He looked at me and nodded without hesitation. “Yes. Whatever you need to me to do, I’ll do it without a second thought.” I chuckled and whispered some sweet words into his ear, making his eyes go wide. His hands trembled but his resolve beat his fear.
“Understood… I’ll do it.”
