While they waited for the results to come out, Krystal had
been busy preparing her boutique and looking at buildings she could buy in the
capital for her company. She wanted to make her base in the capital where all
the money was. She had already thought of the name of the company and the
products that she will be providing to the public.
After some research she found out that she needed even more
capital if she wanted to purchase the kind of building she had in mind which
means that the capital she has in her account was already not enough.
She had to visit the mountains once more and make some money.
All she had to do was wait for the term break which was going to be in
effective in two weeks. Knowing that she was going to make some more money, she
felt at ease.
Every student was very excited as they waited for the
teachers to come and announce the results.
“Do you think that this will be Krystal’s last day at school?”
“I think so too. Do you remember that she left the exam room
the same time as us?”
“I even saw her spacing out.”
“To think that she was so shameless to make such a bet with
the teacher, she is just tired of living.”
While the students were busy condemning Krystal, there was an
uproar in the staff room. They had to call the Principal to solve the issue.
The Principal looked at the test papers that were neatly
written and smiled.
“Do you have any evidence of cheating?”
“No, there were none.”
“So what is the matter?”
“This can’t be. Considering how low her marks were back then,
she just can’t wake up one day and become a genius.”
“What makes you think that she was showing her whole
strength? Since the invigilators did not see any signs of cheating then go and
announce the results. As teachers we shouldn’t show any partiality, we are like
second parents to them,” the Principal spoke angrily showing how disappointed
he was with these group of teachers.
Being reprimanded like that made them very ashamed that they
all looked and blamed those two teachers that had instigated the whole thing.
Since the issue with the results had been solved, the teachers left the
staffroom to go and announce the results.
In Krystal’s classroom everyone was waiting anxiously for Mr.
Roberts to come with the overall results but first they have to meet the
subject teachers.
What no one expected was the shock that they received as each
teacher announced the results. This shock kept on going as each teacher come
and leave the classroom. This happened for all eleven subjects that they did in
their class.
Class 3-5 had eleven subjects namely Maths, English,
Commerce, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accounts and Jianan,
the nation’s vernacular language
Krystal had won the bet; this was something that they have
all witnessed. She had scored a total of 1060/1100 marks overall, taking the
first position among all seniors. The ones in 3-1 had lower marks than her. The
first position in class 3-1 had a total of 1000 marks; the mark gap was great
making everyone feel wary of what had happened.
Just like she had promised a month ago, Krystal had taken
position one and she wasn’t transferring anywhere. Seeing these results she
couldn’t help but smile widely, she couldn’t wait to have that woman apologize
to her.
When Mr. Robert finished announcing the results to everyone
in class, he couldn’t help but look at the young girl that he had looked down
upon. It was the same person who had made his class shine for the first time
and he felt happy and worried at the same time. He now knew that it wasn’t good
to judge a book by its cover.
“Your overall marks this month are not so great so you should
keep on working hard. I am very proud that for the first time our class has
someone on the top. So to student Krystal Everett, well done and keep up the
great work,” he said with gritted teeth. He saw the smirk on Krystal’s face and
he knew that it will not be easy from now on.
“Thank you, sir. I will keep up the good work.”
After making a number of pointless speeches, he finally left.
There were those that wanted to curry favor with her so they began to approach
her and initiate some conversation with her. She simply answered politely
without rejecting anyone or accepting anyone.
The last thing that she was waiting for was for that arrogant
teacher to come and apologize but she was nowhere to be found. Since she wasn’t
showing herself, the video of that day began to circulate once more. Now
everyone was aware of the bet that had been made that time ago.
That day Flora dragged her back to her family mansion where
they had a celebratory dinner for Krystal passing her exams. The dinner was
warm for her, it made her feel that she wasn’t alone and that was the greatest
gift she could ever ask for.
The following day they had Maths and she had to meet that
Mrs. Jones again. She looked at her with a smile and wondered if she was
willing to go first or she should break the ice.
Mrs. Jones looked at her with hate in her eyes but she didn’t
care at all.
“To student Krystal, I want to say that I apologize for
judging you without knowing all the facts,” the female teacher made a halfhearted
apology which was better than none.
Since she still wanted to keep on learning at this school and
have a smooth year, she didn’t want this fox to have a grudge with her.
“It’s okay ma’am, the joke is now over so everything is okay.
I should thank you for making me work so hard to the extent of getting such
great results. If it wasn’t because of the motivation that you provided, I would
have never in my life known that I can do something like this. So thank you
very much,” Krystal said with a smile. She knew her words were like a double
edged sword, they were praising the teacher and mocking her at the same time
but who cares? She deserves what was coming to her.
After settling the embarrassing situation in class, the
lesson began. Just like before, she listened attentively to what she was
teaching and noted everything down. Despite being a b***h she was a great
teacher and she would be an idiot if she refuses to listen to her lessons
simply because she wanted to chase her out at another time.
