Ichiro looked down at his chest, seeing a faint light. He didn’t know what that was but it made him feel warm.
…’So, what do you mean by soul? How could this have anything to do with it?’, he asked. …
…’Well, in order to explain it, I have to actually show you, so don’t flinch’ …
She extended her hand towards Ichiro and after a few seconds, a purple ball of energy surrounded by another two smaller ones was floating next to them.
…’Okay, so, this is your soul basically. It stores all your Life Force and Energy. The orbs that gravitate it, in your case these two, are the elements you can use’…
…’Ooh, I understand now. So that’s what was shining in my chest then. But… why?’,Ichiro asked. …
…’Well, your soul can be triggered by powerful emotions or feelings, so I guess that’s the reason’…
…’Ah, okay I get it. Say… coming back to what we were talking earlier, do you have any….friends here?’ …
…’Huh? Haha, no, I don’t. What makes you think that I could?’,she asked mockingly. …
She looked at Ichiro with a somber look in her eyes, but a small glimmer of hope was still visible in her look.
…’Well, I don’t know, you just seemed fairly popular around. Anyway, this is weird to ask but, would you like to be friends with me? Or..at least hang out around or…I don’t know. I’m sorry if this idea sounds dumb…but I just felt like saying it’ …
Hikari looked at him, half shocked and half relieved. She took a while to process Ichiro’s words and think her answer through.
…’Well…yes,I’m up for it. After all, nobody even asked me this before, so sure…I guess. Though I don’t really know…how friends should even act towards each other’…
…’T…thank you. But, don’t worry about it. I kinda suck at socializing too, so we’re both going to be weird in the beginning more or less’…
…’Oh…that’s a relief. Also, I may or may not have read your last thought. And to answer it, no, you’re not going to very sneakily stop training before your actual practice. And now that we’re…friends or whatever, I actually want to help’ …
Ichiro was a bit out of words. He knew Hikari probably had a tough life and still has but he wasn’t far from it. He could barely make any friends at his school and they would forget about him fairly easy. It was the first time he had asked someone to be his friend instead of him being asked, so it was all the more weird to him, but, in the end, he was happy with it.
After another few minutes of chatting about their lives, both of them went to their rooms. They made a promise too, which was a bit ridiculous on their first minutes of meeting each other, but none of them minded it. They swore to not let the other one die, whatever happened. Hikari came up with the promise at first, which shocked Ichiro but he liked her idea.
He went to bed shortly after taking a quick shower and playing with the water a bit in there. He felt a bit more motivated than usual. It was new for him to actually have a good reason to fight, but now he wanted to master his elements more than ever.
To his surprise, Ichiro woke up at about 4:30 in the morning. He didn’t feel like sleeping anymore so he went to the bathroom to wash his face. He had one problem though. Since he could use water now, everytime he turned it on, it was already warm, which made him all the more sleepy. He had to use his whole brain to actually make it a bit cold.
After he brushed his teeth and face, he headed towards the shower. Right when he was about to step in, something woke him up and set his blood boiling of adrenaline entirely. He heard three small explosions outside, all of them synced to explode at the same time.
He dressed up with whatever clothes he could find and rushed outside. He sneaked in the bushes with ease since it was stil dark outside and saw about five…no, seven people this time? All of them were holding something fairly big with all the kinds of wires you could imagine in their hands. They seemed like they were digging to some place, like they wanted to travel somewhere that was on the surface but they didn’t want to be seen. Then, in a matter of seconds, it hit him. They were making their way straight to Hikari’s room, which was the worst isolated of all. He had to do something, and quick, because the explosions were continuing to make their way to her room. Sadly, she couldn’t hear anything, as those pesks put a spell around almost the whole building so nobody could hear anything. He pulled out his blade. He wanted to make a plan, but the time was way too limited for that. So he jumped out, without anything in his head, letting luck decide his fate.
