After Ichiro got in his room that night, he jumped in bed. A couple of thoughts rushed in his head to the point where it started hurting. As much as he felt safer with Hikari protecting the Dojo and all, he knew that she couldn’t hold that title forever and her weakness, even if it was insignificant in battles, could land her a fatal blow. He felt bad, but he didn’t know if there’s something he could do.
About half an hour later, a thought landed the final blow to his mind. He remembered the face Hikari had while he talked to her, especially when he befriended her. She seemed…sad, but relieved at the same time. Though…a feeling of regret was hitting him everytime he looked in her eyes.
…’I should go to sleep. This leads to nowhere’ ,he decided….
He pulled out his pillow and laid down. A few thoughts still tried to invade his head, but he concentrated and kept his eyes closed.
It was about 4 in the morning when he woke up. He was soaking wet and barely even breathing. He had a nightmare, a weird one, which ruined his night from then on. It was one thing that he had his overthinking session before bed, but his nightmares about the Dojo being destroyed….were something else.
He went outside to relax a bit. The thoughts from earlier were getting worse and so was his headache. Each step was getting heavier and heavier, like he was about to pass out. He sat down in the middle of the campus after a few more steps. He was breathing heavily and his head was pulsating like crazy.
A few minutes of struggling later, Ichiro finally stood up, but he wasn’t feeling any better. He just wanted to get to the water. It was the only thing that could save him. Slowly, but steadily, he was walking through the campus, getting closer and closer to the water. His legs started hurting and his arms were shaking, but he couldn’t stop.
Even way past his limit, after some minutes of struggling, he finally jumped in the water. He felt his body completely relax and his headache was slowly getting better.
…’Wait, I have to check this now that I know…’ ,he mumbled….
He extended his hand forwards and concentrated a bit while he closed his eyes. When his hand warmed up a bit, he opened them. His soul was shining in his right hand….but, what was left of it was a faint purple light.
…’So that’s where the problem comes from’…
He thought about talking about it with Hikari, but he reminded himself that she already had a lot of problems herself, so he gave up on the idea.
After he calmed down a bit, his eyelids started closing as his body was completely relaxed. And so, after a short while, he finally fell asleep…deep in the water.
…’Are you crazy? Woke up, for God’s sake!’…
He woke up to someone shouting at him.
…’Oh…good morning to you too’, he mumbled….
…’Why on earth would you sleep in here? You’re lucky I came, otherwise it would completely drain your Life Force’, Hikari said….
…’Oh…I’m sorry. I’m gonna go back in’…
…’Hmph, sure. Just tell me later what caused you to be here for so long. Go get ready for breakfast though. See you’…
Once in his room, he started doing his usual morning routine, then went downstairs to eat breakfast. Hikari was waiting in front of the cafeteria, which was odd, but he decided that maybe she was trying to be a good friend, which neither of them knew what that was, so he appreciated it.
He approached her and they went in the cafeteria to get their food. After they did so, they sat down at a random table. Some small talk later, Hikari looked at him…deeply, as if he needed to confess something to her.
…’So? I am listening. I’m not giving you a choice not to tell me, so sorry not sorry’, she said….
…’It’s… a long story. You sure we have the time?’…
…’Your soul was low as heck in Energy when I came to you, so I can’t just ignore this’…
…… …
