Ichiro started thinking what parts he should tell Hikari about and what parts he shouldn’t. Unfortunately for him, Hikari realized what he was planning.
…’I told you to tell me everything, doesn’t matter what it is. I’m not here to judge’, she said….
…’Ugh…fine. So first, I had some thoughts last night before I fell asleep….about you. You know how I asked you how you’re feeling and you said that “could be better”? Well, for some reason that line stayed in my mind for a long time. And you have some of your…glances that are just hopeless, you know? ‘. Ichiro took a deep breath before starting to talk again. ‘Anyway, I barely fell asleep and when I did, I had some kind of nightmare…about the Dojo being destroyed. I couldn’t sleep after that so I decided to go outside to relax but I got a headache and, well, my whole body started to act weird and then, I just finally jumped in the water so…yeah. That’s all’…
Hikari looked a bit down, but she was clearly in some deep thinking state.
…’First, I need to give you some reassurance, as you seem to need it. But, I’m not doing it verbally. Empty words are useless to overthinkers like you, I guess. Put your hand on my chest’, she said….
…’What?!’…
Hikari sighed.
…’Oh, come on just do it’, said Hikari as she pulled Ichiro’s arm towards her….
Hikari closed her eyes as Ichiro put his hand on her chest. A faint orange light would appear after a few seconds.
…’Okay, you have access to some of my emotions, close your eyes and concentrate some Energy in your hands’, she whispered….
Ichiro did as he was told. Shortly after, he could feel a faint pain in his chest, but, at the same time, it wasn’t so bad. He felt some more nice emotions that would slowly make the pain fade away, though, he was sure of one thing, it wasn’t disappearing.
…’Okay, I think that’s enough’, he said….
…’Good. So? Any opinions?’…
…’Well, I’m glad you are somewhat okay, but, you’re running away from your pain and problems right now, which I don’t think helps long term’…
…’You’ve got some guts spilling all this when you know how angry I can get, so I’ll give you that. But, actually, what do you mean by that?’…
…’You’re using your positive emotions only to cover up your pain, you’re not actually letting yourself enjoy them’…
Hikari looked at Ichiro, almost shocked.
…’You understood more than I thought’, she said. ‘But, you’re probably right here. Though, can we even do anything about it?’…
…’I am willing to help, if you don’t mind me’…
…’Hm, you’ll have to give me some time to think’…
After they finished their lunch and chat, they both left to their rooms. Ichiro was still thinking about a way to help Hikari, no matter what it was, but was interrupted by a voice in his head. ‘Stop overthinking and rest for once, man’. It was Hikari’s voice. A lot of questions rose when he heard HER voice in HIS head, but that was a question he would ask later.
As he was getting ready for training, a headache hit him again. It felt almost the same as the previous night. He fell to his knees trying to think of a way to get rid of his headache without anyone seeing him.
He tripped on a book that was in the middle of the room (which also reminded him to clean up). Before he could get up and curse, he saw what book that was. It was the one about the Water Element. He opened it, trying to search for something, as he remembered that Water had some healing spells as well. A few pages turned later, he found one easy and Energy-efficient spell. He got up, barely, and started to concentrate his Energy into his hands and closed his eyes with the little attention span he had left. When he opened them, a small, green bubble was sitting in his hand. The second he saw it, he splashed it into his face.
It had no effect at first, but he noticed the ache disappearing slowly as more time passed. In a few minutes he felt as if it never happened.
…’I am never going to consider healing spells useless anymore. This things are pure magic…literally’…
As he finished his spiel, Hikari opened the door, probably expecting him to be asleep.
…’Oh you’re awake? Convenient. But damn, your room’ s a mess. Anyway, come downstairs for practice. I’m waiting for you there. You got five minutes as usual’…
Before Ichiro could say anything, she stormed out and went down. He sighed and dressed up with his training clothes. Before leaving, he took one last look at his room.
…’She’s right. Looks horrible honestly’, he said as he left….
