It didn’t take too long for all the gunshots and fighting to reach the dojo and that’s when the organized chaos started.
Hikari was in charge of half of the group of mages and Wu was in charge of the other half. At first, nothing really even touched the dojo. Their so-called army was divided into more groups which had certain assignments based on their specialty and their shielding group looked pretty tough at first.
About half an hour later, only one of the parties who joined the war stood before the dojo’s army. Their defense started to fall off a bit, but was far from failing. While Hikari and Kei were their main offense force, the others were doing considerable damage.
Hikari threw spell after spell at the enemy, noticing after a short while how outnumbered they actually were. She could feel the presence of at least two hundred Auras, which was about five times compared to theirs. After seeing everything and noticing some people from her party falling apart, she decided on one thing. ‘Whether or not it’s going to drain me, I have no other choice’, she thought.
She concentrated an enormous amount of Energy into her new cursed right eye. A few seconds later, she opened it. She stared at the enemy’s army and, a couple of moments later, a huge black shield-like Aura surrounded them. ‘Combining my Energy with Ichiro’s abilities might just be a bit too strong, huh?’.
She felt an enormous amount of Energy and Life Force flowing through her veins. The black Aura surrounding the enemy exploded them into pieces shortly after. It was the first time Hikari murdered someone, and she did it by ending at least fifty people’s lives but, being honest with herself, she didn’t regret it one bit. The Energy, the Life Force, her blood boiling and her lust for blood kept her body moving and using her Energy to its full extent, something which she hasn’t done in years.
As for Kei, she was still holding herself back, constantly thinking that it’s what her brother wanted her to do, to not get carried away by her killing intent. But it didn’t take long before she saw some of her freshly made and only friend starting to fall. The enemy wasn’t as merciful, all they wanted was to take them down.
She saw Hikari going berserk on the enemy’s units and tears started flowing down her face as her attacks got stronger and stronger. She remembered how Ichiro used to always tell her to keep her powers down and never go all out,but she couldn’t. Shortly after, she felt her head splitting in half and her chest aching. ‘I’m sorry. This is the only promise I’ll break’.
In the blink of an eye, she was already flying above the enemy army, releasing insane spells and taking groups down painlessly and effectively.
As much as their dojo was starting to feel the signs of war, they were pushing the enemy back, despite being outnumbered.
Hours of fighting, despair and anger later, it was all over. A war between powers of insane levels, yet it ended so soon. Everyone was exhausted, both physically and mentally. Three of them passed away, but it was something really mild compared to the massacre that ended the war.
Hikari helped Wu and other S ranks with rearranging stuff in the building and with reconstruction. She could barely talk. Her mind was constantly thinking about the fact that she wasn’t going to see Ichiro ever again, which was absurd, in a way.
Once she got to her room and jumped straight in bed, she noticed something right before opening the screen of her phone. Her right eye was glowing purple. She felt… Life Force in there, but it wasn’t hers. A few moments after, she collapsed.
She woke up in a field, surrounded by a river. In the distance, she could see an entrance to some kind of forest. She didn’t have too much time to focus on that thought, as she saw someone in the distance.
Following what her eyes were show her, the silhouette she saw seemed more and more familiar. A tall, or at least taller than her, slim body. Realizing what she was seeing, her mind didn’t give her enough time to process everything.
…’Okay, how are you in my dream now? If this is even one’ she said, hugging the familiar shadow….
Ichiro smiled.
…’Well, you have my eye for a reason but leaving that aside, I have some info to give you and what I’m saying needs to get to Kei, too. Now, I have to get to what I meant to say to you while I can, I don’t have much time. There is one power that my Reset eye has that no one except me knows about, not even Kei. Sounds absolutely broken, but you have the power to basically change timelines. Before you freak out, listen to me. Train the ability I used. The huge black cage one, I’m sure you know which one I’m talking about. You should literally feel it when you fully mastered the thing. Now, you will have to use it in yourself and, once you do it, you should find yourself in some kind of time-space lobby. There, you have the option to change something from the timeline you are in, but, you need an object from the EXACT moment you want to change. For that, you should have a coin dropped under the bed, in our room. That will get you to about fifteen minutes before I was attacked. I trust that you will make it, Hikari. Also…tell Kei that there’s one enemy left, the cause of thi-‘…
Before he could finish his sentence, everything vanished and Hikari woke up.’ Okay so aside from whatever happened in that dream, now I wake up on the floor, great!’
As she went downstairs to get breakfast, she saw Kei, probably waiting for her. Now, a question was constantly haunting her head….what or who is that one enemy who’s left?
………..
