Ichiro struggled a bit to concentrate his Energy into his hands, but he did it after a few seconds. A small ball of wind formed right above his arm. The took a small peak at the others and he wasn’t doing so well. He tried using more Energy but it was all in vain. Wu came to him after a few minutes.
…’How’s it going, Ichiro?’, the old man asked….
…’Not the best..’…
Wu casted a small spell and looked deeply in Ichiro’s spell. He seemed confused about something. He stopped the spell shortly after and he looked up at the boy.
…’Why don’t you try water Energy instead?’, Sensei asked. ‘It will be probably harder to start off but this is a test of endurance and your actual element might help with that’….
…’Okay, then’, said Ichiro as he stopped his Wind spell….
He closed his eyes and started to put all his Energy in his hand and imagined a small ball of water forming in front of him, just like he did with Hikari. His head started aching a few seconds in, so he opened his eyes. He saw a small bubble of Water Energy.
…’I actually did it!’, he said excitedly. ‘And it’s way easier to keep it for long’…
…’Good job, Ichiro! It’s a good beginning. Try to concentrate on making it bigger and bigger, but slowly. Good luck, young man!’…
After an hour, the training session ended. There was a Top 5 Sensei mentioned at the end of the training and Ichiro placed fourth, which wasn’t bad at all for him, considering it was his first day.
Some time later, after he took a shower, Ichiro went to bed to take a short nap. He had a dream, which was unusual for him, and a weird one to say the least.
In the dream, half of the building he was in was on fire and a lot of corpses were laying on the ground, lifeless. Only a few of them were still standing as we saw dozens of people on the other side of the wall of fire, throwing spells at them. Hikari was one of the people who was still alive on his side and she rushed at him then whispered ‘Reset’.
After that happened, he woke up. He tried catching his breath and calm down. He was soaking wet, his clothes included. ‘Great, right after I showered’, he thought.
He took another short shower and changed his clothes shortly after.
…’4 AM, an hour and a half before I have to wake up, huh? I don’t really feel like sleeping anyway, so I might as well practice my water spells in the training room’, he said as he was walking towards the door….
A few minutes after he arrived in the room, he started training on growing his water spell. At first, it was pretty exhausting using more and more Energy and the fact that he was sustaining his spell by consuming bigger and bigger bits of his Energy.
He was making some progress but nothing to actually affect his Energy capacity.
A few minutes later, Hikari came in. She jumped a bit when she saw Ichiro, but she regained her composure quickly.
…’What are you doing here? Weren’t you supposed to stay in your room until practice?’, she asked….
…’Oh… hi. I mean, yeah, I was, but I need a bit of practice for now. What about you? If I remember correctly you aren’t usually training’…
…’It’s not that I don’t train, but I don’t train with any of the groups’…
…’Oh… alright’, he mumbled….
They both went on to continue their training. A couple of minutes after, Ichiro sneaked a look to his left and saw Hikari struggling on a spell. A THREE ELEMENT spell. Maybe he was staring for too long, because Hikari looked at him with a fiery look in her eyes.
…’What’s the problem?’, she asked….
…’U… um, nothing. Sorry’…
He turned his head back but Hikari didn’t let him off the hook so easily. He approached him and stopped his spell.
…’I want an answer to my question. I don’t care what was the answer, I need one. That’s something I hate about people, not being able to give me a proper answer’, she told him, angrily….
…’I… I’m sorry. I was just looking at what you were trying to do. Three elements are.. too much for me’…
…’Oh…that’s what you were afraid to tell me?’, she smiled….
…’I mean.. yeah, you don’t seem that comfortable with me’…
She chuckled.
…’Hm.. not really. You seemed a bit ignorant on the first day for some reason and that made me a bit mad, but it’s no big deal. And about the Elements.. well, I am small, but I can push this body to it’s limits, you know?’…
After some short small talk, they both continued their respective practices. Ichiro spaced out for a while and when he snapped back to reality, his spell was almost as big as him.
…’WHAT?’, he yelled…
…’You know, your spell alone is fairly impressive, but the fact that you did it while daydreaming is even more interesting’, said Hikari….
…’Yeah… maybe it is. But the bad thing is that I’m feeling all the fatigue now’…
…’Don’t worry, it’s no-‘…
She was interrupted by an explosion sound near them. Both of them started sprinting to the stairs. Hikari reached the exit door first and she opened it hastily.
…’What.. for the love of God what is this?’…
When Ichiro reached the door, he saw a lot of burning trees around them and the smoke rising in the air.
…’Worst darn timing to not be able to control water. I’m going to talk to Sensei. Try to not let the fire spread to the building. I’ll be back in two minutes’, said Hikari as she started running back….
Ichiro sat there looking at the fire, spreading more and more across the forest. ‘I’m not going to be powerless now, as well’ he thought.
He raised his hands in front of him and used all his Energy to concentrate his water into his hands.
…’This is not gonna cut it’, he said….
The boy pulled his sword out, took two steps back and closed his eyes. He felt all his Energy flowing through his veins. The Energy was flowing with a calm pace, but Ichiro could feel the power of that calm flow. ‘Perfect. Here we go’, he whispered.
…’WATER AURA 1-‘…
