Jungkook couldn’t sleep that day. He tossed and turned, and wondered if Taehyung was really okay. He could still hear the screams that echoed in the room that shattered his heart as he felt and heard so much pain. Taehyung seemed very weak, but that special boy had the toughest heart, even when he didn’t realize it, Jungkook noticed it.
He was now working on the patients windows. He sprayed and wiped them quickly with his roll of paper towels he had on his cart. He still wasn’t used to the patients that made him freeze at times just to make sure they didn’t do anything harmful to him. He saw Hoseok, whom he hasn’t seen in a while and quickly waved at him happily.
“Hey Jungkook! How’s it going?” Hoseok asked him while smiling his wide smile.
“Good so far, and you? Where have you been?” Jungkook missed laughing and just talking to him.
“Yoongi and I got placed in the another ward since staff was really short there. Ugh, not as entertaining as it is here,” Hoseok laughed. “I heard Taehyung is doing better these days…thank you for that. He’s a good kid, I could tell. Scary as **** before you came, but he was gone half the time, like in here,” Hoseok said pointing to his head. “But seems like he’s more in his right mind now, and that’s a step forward.” Hoseok clamped his hand over Jungkook’s shoulder. “You’re an angel to him, an angel he’s been waiting for.”
Jungkook smiled softly, “He’s actually my angel.”
Hoseok just nodded, “Good. Take care of him.” Hoseok patted his shoulder a few times and said, “Well, I gotta see these patients, but um see you around!”
“See ya!” Jungkook smiled as he watched Hoseok take off down the hall and out of sight. He felt better knowing Hoseok was around now. He grabbed his paper towels and went back to work on the windows he was cleaning. After he finished the first hall, he looked down to see his work and saw an old patient licking every single window that he had just done, and saw the old man giving him a bright smile as he continued to lick.
Jungkook took a deep breath in and slowly released his air. He was annoyed at the man and was so tempted to make him clean up all the damn windows again, but had to chill for a moment. He went into the second hall and continued to clean the windows trying to ignore the guy who just kept making things worse for him.
As Jungkook was cleaning the windows he heard heavy breathing behind his neck. He turned around and saw the same old guy licking windows go up to him and tried licking him. Jungkook kept the guy away from his face and pushed him back to stay away from his body. “Leave me alone or I’ll call a doctor over to keep you away,” he told the patient, who just smiled at him.
The patient just followed Jungkook closely, still licking every single window he clean and Jungkook just continued on as if he wasn’t there, but the heavy breathing didn’t let him forget he was actually still nearby. Jungkook made it to the third hall and smiled as he looked all the way down to see Taehyung’s door still closed. He missed him all the time. There wasn’t a moment when he didn’t think about him, it was all he could do. Taehyung consumed him mind, his heart, his everything.
As he clean and reached down to almost Taehyung’s door, he saw Taehyung looking out the window, and moved back so Taehyung could see him. The bright smile that Jungkook captured through the window made his heart beat ten times more faster, and he was completely and utterly smitten like he’s never been before. The patient also smiled at Taehyung, but was met with an icy stare that made the patient frown and walk away from Jungkook.
Jungkook was happy that the old man was gone and could clean in peace without having to be bothered. The only thing that ticked him off was that he was gonna have to clean the windows all over again. He groaned and continued to wipe down the windows until he reached Taehyung’s window. He smiled at the boy and placed his hand against the window, with Taehyung meeting his hand also. ‘I love you’ Jungkook mouthed from behind the door.
Taehyung blushed and held Abby close to him. ‘I love you too’ he mouthed back with a bright smile. Taehyung blew a kiss and waited for Jungkook to do the same. He saw the janitor looking both ways in the hall then blew him a kiss that only made him giggle like a kid. He was really happy with Jungkook…just seeing him smile so perfectly made things in his life a lot easier. He was lucky he got to love, something he never did expect to happen.
____
A few days later Jungkook was back cleaning the halls with Taehyung by his side. He recently found out from Taehyung that his mother had always abused him ever since he could remember. He cried so much that night, but Jungkook kissed all his tears away. Taehyung wished he knew why growing up was so hard at times when all he wanted was just to be happy. He felt like happiness was just not meant for him, but Jungkook asked him if he was happy with him, and of course Taehyung said yes. That was settled with happiness for them. As long as they had each other, that’s what mattered.
“Let’s go clean up the rec room,” Jungkook says to Taehyung who just gripped his shirt from behind. Jungkook smiled and led the way, giving Yoongi a small wave. They entered the room and Taehyung automatically giggled. “What’s so funny?”
Taehyung hid behind Abby, “Oh, just thinking of the time I kissed you in the closet…remember?”
How could Jungkook forget? “Of course I do. Shall we do a repeat of it?”
Taehyung giggled more and nodded quickly. “Let me leave Abby here since I don’t want her knowing what we are going to do.” Taehyung left Abby on the table and grabbed Jungkook’s hand dragging him to the closet. He closed the door and pressed his body up against Jungkook’s. “Kiss me.”
Jungkook did, hard. He quickly wasted no time wrapping his arms around his waist and pulling him much closer to himself, leaving no gaps in between them. “You’re so beautiful, Tae.”
“Mmm, and you’re amazing, baby,” Taehyung moaned into his mouth. Taehyung giggled once he felt Jungkook’s finger tickling his sides. “Stop, Kookie. I want to enjoy your lips still!”
“I wish I could to, but I do have a job to do as well. I don’t want to let none of these amazing people who support us look at me different.” Jungkook felt bad though, since he really enjoyed being with his innocent love, but at the same time had to keep work in mind. “You get still hold onto me while I work, so, yay?” he said hopeful, hoping Taehyung could forgive him.
Taehyung opened the door and beamed at him, “As long as I get to touch you, I think I’ll be good.”
“Good.” Jungkook gave him a quick kiss and felt Taehyung’s fingers on the back of shirt following him. Jungkook started wiping the tables with Taehyung humming behind him. “How are you feeling these days, Tae?”
Taehyung just smiled. “Honestly…I feel a lot better. Like, a whole lot better.” Taehyung wrapped his arms around Jungkook’s waist. “I feel better than I ever have, and it’s all thanks to you.”
Jungkook looked down at the arms that were wrapped around him and smiled. “I’m so glad. But guess what? This is also the happiest I’ve ever been. I know it will be even more amazing once you are out of here and in my home where I could do more to you.”
Taehyung smirked, “More? Like?”
“Oh…” Jungkook blushed and looked at the ground. “You know. Kiss you more, hold you more….the more stuff.”
Taehyung clicked his tongue, “Oh. I thought you wanted more from me.”
Jungkook turned around to face Taehyung, “Hey…I do want more, but I just want to take our time.”
Taehyung looked up innocently at Jungkook, “Take our time playing games and stuff?”
Jungkook let out a laugh. He was thinking of something along the lines of sex, and not actually playing games. “Tae, those are a given. Of course we’ll play those together.”
“Good. I want to explore your body also,” Taehyung grinned.
“Tae,” Jungkook whined. “You can just say that stuff to me.” Jungkook licked his lips and willed himself to think of other things besides Taehyung actually touching him all over.
Taehyung giggled, “Aww, you look cute all red!” Taehyung hugged Jungkook from behind and squeezed him tightly. “Why do you make me feel so special?”
Jungkook chuckled and rolled his eyes playfully, “That’s ’cause you are special.” Jungkook let Taehyung hug him a little longer and tapped his hands to move away, “Let me finish up so you can hold me more.”
“Kookie?”
“Hm?”
Taehyung sighed not letting him go, squishing his cheek against the back of Jungkook’s neck. “Do you really think I’ll get better and leave this place?”
“Of course, Tae. You can’t stay here forever if you’re feeling better. You’ll always have me also.” Jungkook heard Taehyung sigh and felt a soft kiss on the back of his neck. “Tae…I promise to keep you forever.”
“I know you will, Kookie, that’s why I’m doing my best for you…I want to be with you forever.”
“You will.”
Jungkook clean up and kept looking back at Taehyung who was playing with Abby on the table laughing. Jungkook saw him whisper in Abby’s ear and then look at him while giggling. Jungkook cock a brow and just scoffed, going back to work.
“Kookie, are you almost done? I’ve been waiting for hours!” Taehyung complained while stomping his bare feet against the cold white floor.
Jungkook felt bad. It has been hours, but he was trying really fast to clean up, but his work was a lot to do. He frowned and knelt in front of Taehyung, “I’m sorry, baby. I promise I’m trying my fastest to hurry up for you.” Jungkook looked over the list and over the room. “Give me fifteen minutes and then I’m all yours, okay?”
Taehyung grinned and kissed the tip of Jungkook’s nose, “Deal.” Taehyung shooed Jungkook away, then began to sing a lullaby to Abby.
Jungkook loved his voice. He would work quietly just to hear out for his voice and calm his nerves while he clean. Jungkook would sometimes request Taehyung to sing, just because he felt good just hearing his voice. After thirty minutes of cleaning, he stood up and proudly walked up to Taehyung. “Okay, babe. My job here is done, let’s go.” Jungkook reached out for Taehyung’s hand and stood him up, pulling him in for a hug. “Thank you for waiting.”
“I’ll always wait. Even if I’m stubborn and want you sooner,” smiled Taehyung. They both walked to put the cart away in the closet, then went to Taehyung’s room.
“Oh shit, hold on. I gotta go clock out. I’ll be right back, Tae!” Jungkook gave a quick kiss and jogged out of the room and down the halls. Jungkook checked his phone and tried to hurry up so he could spend at least an hour extra with Taehyung before he had to leave for the early morning. He waved quickly at Jimin who just smirked at him, giving him a wink. Jungkook couldn’t read the expression on his face, but he didn’t feel comfortable. Still, he waved him a quick hi and continued down the halls.
Taehyung just laid down on his bed and held Abby over his face with arms stretched out. “Abby. I’m so happy now. I wish….I wish you could see how happy I am. I’m still hurt from the past, but Kookie…I think he heard me calling for help when I was alone. Now look…now he’s in my life, and I think you helped him bring him here.” Taehyung kissed Abby and squeezed her tight, “Thank you Abby.”
Jungkook ran all the way back and thought to himself, why all the nurses and doctor’s were all so busy and fussy over something. Jungkook walked into Taehyung’s room, smiling at the pale boy who just smiled at him brightly. “Did I keep you waiting long?”
“Nope!” Taehyung told him with a quick shake of his head.”Let’s play a game.”
Jungkook walked to the bed and sat down next to him. “What game?”
“20 questions. At least I think it’s a game,” Taehyung wondered. “I don’t know. I played it in school with a few friends and it was fun. I got to know them more.”
“Okay, so did you want to ask me first, orrr?”
“I’ll ask! Hmmm,” Taehyung hummed as he tapped his chin. “Favorite color?”
“Red. Okay..my turn to ask you…Uh…favorite color?” Jungkook was lame. He didn’t want to repeat the question, but had no clue what to ask just yet.
“Green and purple! Okay, so what’s your favorite thing to do?”
Jungkook pretended to think really hard. “That’s a tough question, actually. It’s between hugging and kissing you…dang, that’s a tough question.”
Taehyung giggled, “I feel the same. But I think kissing you definitely tops my list.”
Jungkook leaned forward and started to kiss Taehyung slowly, then working his lips till he deepened the kiss, laying Taehyung on the bed.
A loud bang interrupted the couple and both saw Jin standing in the door way with a dark look on his face. “What do you think you’re doing to my patient? I welcome you to work here and this is what I see?”
Jimin stood behind Jin smiling at the couple and watched the scene unfold.
Jungkook stood up shaking. “I promise, I’m not doing anything wrong! You should see Taehyung he’s getting bett-“
“Call security,” Jin told other staff that also walked to the boy’s room. “Kissing a sick patient? You’re FIRED!!! He needs to be HEALED not taken advantage of!!!”
Taehyung gripped Jungkook’s sleeve and held Abby with his other arm, scared. “K-K-Kookie? D-d-don’t leave me!”
The guards came in and grabbed Jungkook, dragging him out. “TAEHYUNG!”
Taehyung scream as he was being pulled apart from Jungkook. “NOOO! KOOKIE!!!”
Jin balled his fist and told Jimin to take away his doll. “No more dolls and no more Jungkook! You need to be healed! Who in the world allowed THIS???!”
Taehyung had both of his loves out of his grasps and threw his body on the floor screaming.
“GO GET THE TRANQUILIZER AND GIVE HIM HIS DOSAGE!!!” Jin yelled to Jimin. Jin looked at the other nurses with tears streaming down their faces. “HOLD HIM DOWN!!!” The nurses did as they were told, and hated the sight of Taehyung being back to the way he was again.
Jimin ran past a yelling and crying Jungkook as he went into the staff office. He got the small bottle and double the dosage with a smile, then ran back to the room.
Taehyung was screaming and kicking on the floor. “NOOO!!! I NEED THEM!!! KOOKIEEEE! ABBYYY!!!”
Jungkook cried as he turned back and heard the shrill cry that made his skin crawl. Taehyung would be broken again, and he won’t be there to help him save him..
Namjoon saw Jungkook and cried as he saw the boys being separated, but couldn’t do nothing about it either. “Jungkook….I’m sorry….”
Jungkook frantically looked at Namjoon, trying to free himself from the guards, “HE NEEDS ME! NAMJOOONNN!!!” he yelled as he was being dragged away from him. Jungkook thrashed in the guards arms and scream as he felt himself being torn from the inside. All the screams and cries were now quiet in the halls. Jungkook sobbed as he knew they injected his love, and he would be out for the night.
The guards tossed Jungkook out the doors and locked them so he couldn’t get back in. Jungkook cried banging on the doors wanting to see Taehyung again…but all his cries went unheard. He fell to the ground and felt weak himself. He was supposed to help him…Taehyung needed him, and he needed Taehyung…Jungkook pounded on the door and just sobbed wishing it was all a nightmare.
It seems like happiness wasn’t meant for everyone…especially to them. As broken as they both were…Jungkook knew that he had to strong and wait to fix him again, no matter how long it took.
