Hey guys, I hope you all are fine. I am sorry for not updating the chapters!
There was no doubt that Amelia was happy with her current life but a huge part of her wanted to be with her father because she miss him. She was aware that her father was still searching for her and she couldn’t help but blame herself at times for the hasty decision she took, Amelia didn’t know if what she had done was right or wrong but she knew this was what she wanted during the time she decided to run away from her home; a life of her own rules.
It has been five days since Amelia started to work with Adrian in his mansion. Today was just like any other day. She was glad that Adrian seldom stays in his office since he has other works, she wonder what kind work could it be for him to leave his home and to return during late hours in the night but it wasn’t her place to . Amelia has lost track of time but due to the pain in her heel of foot, she could tell that it has been more than half an hour since she stood near Adrian’s desk with the short notes she prepared for him. She didn’t feel any stress while watching the recorded meetings about the interior designs of new hotels and resorts that were being constructed but the problem was with her cold hearted boss who makes her to rewrite the reports of the construction sites. Though she curse him under her breath at times, she cannot deny the fact that his presence makes her heart flip over and over.
“Did you go through the blue prints of London’s hotel?” Adrian asked her while receiving the short notes from Amelia. He was seated on his seat while she stood though her feet was paining.
“I did, Mr. Schneider,” she replied and saw him go through the important points she had written on the white papers. Adrian didn’t speak after she replied but continued to look at the report she prepared. The girl was capable of the position he gave her and his judgement about her was not wrong. Though he mistook her in the beginning, it didn’t take much time for him to recognise her capabilities.
Amelia who stood at his desk, couldn’t help herself but wonder why did he choose her to assist him. Could it be that he admired her work? A tiny smirk played on her lips because of the satisfying thought that was on her mind. Or may be he gave her work because of the word he gave her when he interviewed her. She was imagining too much, she shook her head to break-free from her thoughts.
Stay focused, she said in her mind when her boss spoke about the report.
Amelia started to meet Adrian’s grandmother in her free time. She visited the old woman everyday and spent time with her. Josephine was glad that Amelia was visiting her everyday. She was very fond of the young girl since the day she met her, the day she saw Amelia preparing soup for her, all she could think was that it would be great if Amelia and her grandson married, they would make a perfect couple. But being aware of her grandson’s temper, she never tried to talk to him about Amelia, she was afraid he wouldn’t give Amelia a job if at all he comes to know about her thoughts on the girl. Josephine was left with no other choice but to wait and see the girl who was destined to be in her grandson’s life.
“What are you thinking grandma?” asked Adrian, who came into her room. His grandmother who was lost in her thoughts didn’t notice his presence in her room which made him question her to know what was bothering her.
“I was thinking about the girl who is destined for you,” she answered to see him roll his eyes.
“Are we back at it again?” he sighed, unable to believe that his grandmother was thinking about his future bride at this hour of time when she could sleep peacefully.
“It was your curiosity which made you to ask me. I only said what was on my mind, she shrugged.
Adrian looked at his grandmother and thought for a second, maybe it would be better if he informs his grandmother before it is too late, he didn’t believe Trevor would keep it a secret from his grandmother for too long since his cousin had a big mouth and would surely spit out the truth. It would be better if he told his grandmother right now since she seems to be in a good mood. He wasn’t sure if his grandmother would be happy if he told her everything but telling in brief about the arrangement would not make his grandmother hinder his plans, he said to himself.
“What if I said I have someone on my mind?” His hesitant question made her chuckle as if he was joking with her and she was not going to believe fall for his words.
“Do not even dare of arranging a substitute as you bride,” She warned him. There was no way his grandson has a girl on his mind. If he had one, she would surely be informed by him or any other person.
“I would never force myself to such ridiculous plans, grandma. You can trust me on that.” Adrian explained her. There was no way he would choose a random girl to play a role of his girl-friend, only a fool will do it, he thought.
His grandmother looked at him to read his face, he was saying truth and he was serious about it. “Are you sure… about the girl?” she asked him. The guy who never had any relation with a woman, would he be able to choose his life partner in a short span of a time?
“You are not sure if the girl is right for you, am I right?” Josephine asked him when Adrian couldn’t answer to her question. How could he be sure about the girl when his mind is only focused on business.
“Adri…” his grandmother sighed. This guy is clueless as always when it comes to girls, she thought. “You need to wait for signs. Signs that would show you the girl who is made for you. Did you understand what I said?”
“I don’t understand. Not even a single word. I don’t believe in the destiny or whatever it is granny. I….”
“What I mean is, the girl who can make you experience something which you’ve never experienced, is the person you are destined to. You will know that she is the one and never let her go no matter what happens.”
“It is late grandma. We better sleep now and about the destiny thing, I will think about it,” he kissed his grandmother. Though he didn’t believe in destiny, he agreed to think about it only for the sake of his grandmother because he could never break her heart. After adjusting his grandmother’s blanket, he strode towards his room. He picked up his laptop to see the emails he received and one of the email was from the girl who never failed to fall in his eyes.
