Two weeks after my hand had fully recovered, I woke up that day with no desire to get out of bed. It would be a difficult day as I had never done what I had decided to do. the opportunity to see my parents’ grave. I didn’t know how to do it or where they were buried. It was the eight-year anniversary of their death. April 30. Exactly a month after my birthday. I was very sad and I was almost giving up on the idea even before putting it into practice.
– Diana\, you need to be strong. – I said to myself as I sat on the bed.
I had already removed all my clothes the day before. I knew I would wake up that way. I went to the bathroom and watched the sad expression on my face. I was destroyed once more. The decision to visit my parents’ grave made the memories of eight years ago come back in full force. I shook my head from side to side and went under the shower.
The hot water that touched my skin, which was cold at that moment, gave me a relief. When I finished my bath I was calmer.
I slowly put on a black dress and put a pair of black sneakers on my feet. I braided my wig, grabbed my bag and went down the stairs. It was almost ten in the morning when I decided to leave my room.
Tobias was in the living room and when he saw me, he came worried in my direction because of the sad expression that was on my face.
– What happened ? – He asked hugging me tight.
– I decide to go visit my parents’ grave today. – I replied almost crying.
– Do you want me to take you there? – he asked holding my hands.
– No\, I want to do it alone. By the way\, in which cemetery were they buried? – I asked him.
– The same one where Victoria was buried. – He answered me.
– Thank you. I’m going. – I said going towards the door.
– Hey\, aren’t you going to have breakfast? – he asked me.
– I’m not hungry. I’ll be back shortly after lunch. – I answered.
– Be careful. Anything\, you can call me. – he told me.
I didn’t say anything, just nodded and left the house.I wanted to stop by a florist before buying their favorite flowers.
I walked around the city looking for one that had the flowers in question. Until I found it. It was the closest to the cemetery. It was a good thing because it saved me the time to go downtown and have to come back all the way here.
This cemetery was the furthest from the city center of Diamond and was the closest to the prime area. I bought the blue roses for my father and the red roses and daisies for my mother. I felt a twinge of nostalgia with all those flowers in from when I picked them in the flower field near our house. From when my mother decorated the house with them and my father put the blue roses in his office.
Until I realized that some tears were streaming from my eyes. I paid for the flowers and left the flower shop as soon as possible.
I walked a few meters until I reached the cemetery. There was only one problem: I didn’t know where their tomb was.
I went in and saw that there was a man inside the reception, so I went to talk to him.
– Good morning\, I would like to know where the tomb of Lord and Lady King is.
– Good morning\, I’m sorry. Only the family can visit this tomb. – replied the man.
– I’m their daughter. – I said next.
– A thousand apologies\, Miss King. I will take you right now to one of the gravediggers for him to take you to your parents’ grave. – he told me with a shaky voice and looking into my eyes.
I didn’t know why people were so nervous when talking to members of my family. We didn’t hurt anyone, we just helped people. They had frightened expressions on their faces instead of expressions of affection and respect. part of a mafia, they had nothing to worry about.
The man led me outside the reception to one of the undertakers.
– I need you to take Miss King to the tomb of Lord and Lady King. said the man to the undertaker. – He seemed calmer now.
– Yes\, sir. This way\, miss. – replied the undertaker\, extending his hand so that I could pass.
We talked about where my parents had been buried while walking for a few minutes to get to my goal. They had been buried in the farthest part of the cemetery. The gravedigger had said it was for security reasons. cemetery walls to steal the jewels and clothes of the dead because it is a cemetery that only had rich people.
– We arrived. I will leave you at ease. Anything\, you can call me. – said the undertaker distancing himself a little.
– Thank you very much.- I replied.
The King family tomb was shaped like a house, it was huge and had a tempered glass door. The ceiling on the inside was very colorful stained glass with angels on top of the drawn clouds. I had never come here. and my grandfather died, I was very little. My parents did not bring me to the burial.
I looked around looking for my parents until I found a portrait of the two of them together on a tall cement frame with cement-shaped roses also decorating. On the wall it said “Andrew King and Katarina King”.
It was them. My dear and beloved parents.
I felt a chill in my belly and felt tears streaming from my eyes. I placed the flowers next to their photo. They had been buried together. At least my uncle granted their wish.
I ran my fingers over their photo as if I were caressing their faces. Suddenly, not caring about anything else, I sat on the floor leaning my back on their grave and started talking as if they could hear me:
“- How I miss you so much. You can’t imagine how much your lack of love has changed me so much in the last eight years. If you were still here, I wouldn’t be like that today. I know who killed you and I’m with my vengeance has been underway for three months. I know you didn’t want me to take revenge on you, mother, but I can’t live knowing that the person who made you so bad is free, unpunished, living his life as if nothing has happened. I can’t let it go. Did you know that he stole all the group’s capital for himself and is living a luxurious life with that money?
It’s not fair. Our family worked very hard for several generations to make the group have the deserved prestige. It’s not fair for him to do that and remain free. It’s not fair to have no consequences for him. On my eighteenth birthday, I will assume I will make the Kingdom group great again, I swear. And I promise that within the next few years, I will take revenge on him. I will not let him have a happy life. I love you. that, after all this, I will live a life as you always wanted me to live. I will visit you later. I love you. “
When I finished speaking, I got up and cleaned myself with my hands on my dress. There was a lot of dust inside. I looked around again and didn’t see the tombs of Edward, Victoria or even Aunt Genevievi’s.
I went out and asked the undertaker where they had been buried.
– That lady there.
When I saw where they were, it made me very angry. My uncle had made a tomb just for his family with the group’s money. He used quartz stones for the walls.
– Would you like to come in? – asked the undertaker.
– No. I have to go. Thank you.- I said walking to leave the cemetery.
The grave digger followed behind to guide me to the exit more quickly.
– Thanks. – I thanked him.
– No need to thank miss. – said the undertaker nodding his head.
I went straight home. When I got there, I didn’t see anyone. Rose was busy in the kitchen and Tobias was supposed to be in his father’s room.
I went upstairs and went into my room. I took a shower and then lay on my bed to rest and try to control the anger I was feeling.
