I didn’t get much sleep during the night. I was waking up every hour in the hope of waking up and seeing Diana smiling next to me. How I wanted her to be well as soon as possible.
I got up to go to the bathroom to wash my face and quickly went back to the room when I heard the sound of the door opening. It was Josh.
– Good morning. How did you spend the night? – he asked me as soon as he saw me.
– Good morning. Well as far as possible. – I answered.
– Go take a shower and eat something. I came to get you to do the exams. – he told me.
– I would like to be present. – I talked.
– I’m sorry\, friend. I can’t allow that. It will only be the patient and the doctor. And as there are several tests\, it will take a while. So I suggest you go and do what I said. – I replied.
– Okay. So\, I’ll be right back. – I said leaving the hospital room.
I went to my car that was in the hospital parking lot and drove to the hotel. Because we hurried out last night, there was no time to prepare changes for me or Diana.
As soon as I got to my room, I took a quick shower and separated some clothes for myself. I took the key to her room and there I separated clothes and some personal hygiene utensils for her and left as soon as possible.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, I had a surprise. My father was coming to visit me. But I didn’t have time for him to leave and I went in very quickly.
– Where are you going my son? – he asked me when he saw the bags of clothes I was carrying.
– To the father hospital. – I replied entering the elevator.
– Why ? Something happened with you ? – he asked worried about me.
– I’m fine\, Dad. The problem is with Diana. – I answered.
– What happened to her\, my son? – he asked in amazement.
– She suffered an attempted robbery yesterday\, was stabbed and hit her head on the curb. She is unconscious at the moment. – I lied.
– Poor girl. She suffered in the past and now suffers in the present. As soon as she wakes up\, let me know\, so I can pay her a visit\, my son. – he said as we left the elevator together.
– Yes\, I do. Now I’m going. Bye. – I said getting into my car.
– Bye\, son. – he said waving his hand.
I drove as fast as I could so that I could arrive and try to have the opportunity to see her doing the exams. I wanted to be with her all the time. But in this rush, I ended up forgetting to eat something. go up to her room and look for the medical wing where the exams take place, I stopped at the hospital cafeteria to eat something.
I was so worried about her that I didn’t feel hungry. I asked for a croissant and a cup of coffee and as soon as I finished eating I went upstairs and headed for Diana’s room. When I got there, she was already lying in bed again. and with a new hospital gown. Josh was in the room with her.
– Who changed her clothes? – I asked looking at him.
– I asked for a nurse. – he replied.
– What about the exams? – I wanted to know.
– They have all been completed. Later the results come out. – he replied.
– It’s ok. – I said as I sat beside the bed and took one of her hands in my hands.
She was cold, but I knew why she was. She had already told me that she feels a cold that makes her feel welcomed, strong. And that sometimes that cold could be noticeable when touched by other people.
I was the first person and the only one to feel the cold that ran through her veins.
When I sat down, Josh was called by a nurse who said he had an emergency case and rushed out of the room. It was then that I remembered that I needed to send a message to her cousin saying what had happened.
But I didn’t know and I didn’t even have his cell number. How would I send the message?
Then I remembered her cell phone that I knew the password and looked for his contact. As soon as I found it, sent it to me and started typing the message.
“- Tobias, this is Marshall. Good morning.
I know we have our differences, but the subject of the moment is serious. Diana is at the Central Hospital unconscious because of a strong blow to the head yesterday. I am sending this message to let you know what happened. “
And I did. I knew Tobias liked Diana as a woman even though they were cousins. And I also knew that she liked him as a man. I also knew he was jealous of me because I was always close to her and managed to live with her. with her much more than he did during these six years that have passed.
But I wouldn’t give up on her. I wanted to make her happy and I would go to great lengths to do that. But my game would be clean. No tricks or cheats.
I got up from the chair that was on the left side of the bed and went to sit on the sofa that was on the right side. I really wanted to be holding her hand all the time, but I needed to get some rest, or at least try.
I lay on the couch and put my arm over my eyes to block out the daylight and started to feel like I would be able to doze off until I heard someone knock on the bedroom door.
So I got up and went to see who it was and when I opened the door, I was surprised that Tobias was standing outside. It wasn’t even ten minutes ago that I had sent the message and he was already there.
Seeing him there made me feel a little angry because Diana was to blame for being in a bed unconscious. I opened the way for him to enter the room and closed the door. When I saw that he was approaching the bed, I touched his shoulder and he turned to look at me. That’s when I punched him hard in one of his cheeks, he fell on the floor and looked at me confused, not understanding why he was beaten.
