I woke up early the next day. When I opened my eyes and noticed that Marshall’s arms were around my body and my head was resting on his chest, it made a silly smile appear in my mouth. I was very happy. for having him with me and I wanted to thank you in some way.
I got up very carefully so as not to wake him up and ordered a very special breakfast at one of our favorite hotel restaurants.
After doing this, I went to the bathroom to shower and closed the door so that the noise of the shower water wouldn’t wake him up. When I finished, I dried my whole body, put on a robe and combed my hair. , someone rang the bell. I went to see who it was and it was our breakfast.
– Good morning Miss King. – said the waiter who had brought our breakfast.
– Good morning thank you very much. – I said while he put the cart inside where the breakfast was.
– Have a good breakfast and a good day. – he said while leaving the room.
So I went running to prepare everything so that when Marshall woke up, he would have the surprise. At the breakfast that I had ordered he had: Tapioca, bread rolls, cheese breads, cakes, milk, cheese, fruits, juices, crackers, toast, butter and Creamy cheese.
I prepared everything on the tray that came with it and took it to the living room table that was next to the glass door that gave access to my bedroom balcony. I went back to the bedroom, sat on the bed next to Marshall and started the flame. him lovingly in your ear and giving you several kisses.
– Marshall.
– Hummmm.
– Good morning darling. – I said.
– Good morning princess. – he replied stretching his arms and sitting on the bed.
– Sleep well ? – I asked him.
– I slept wonderfully well because I was at your side. – he replied and immediately gave me a kiss. – Is that you ? – he asked.
– I also slept wonderfully well. – I replied smiling. – I have a little surprise for you. – I said excitedly.
– What is ? – he asked curiously.
– You have to close your eyes. – I asked while getting up from the bed and walking towards the living room.
– They’re already closed. – he said and when I turned to look\, they were already closed.
I took the tray from the table and went back to the bedroom. I sat down on the bed again and passed the tray over his legs.
– I’m curious. But it smells really good. – he commented.
– You can open it now. – I said without being able to contain my smile as I spoke.
– Wow ! For this I did not expect. Thank you so much my love. – He said surprised and giving me several kisses.
– Did you like it ? – I asked.
– Of course I liked it. – he replied smiling.
So we started eating and then took a shower together. We got ready and went to his office. I didn’t know why, but whenever Marshall wasn’t with me, I felt a great need to see him. changing in my heart.
When I arrived on my office floor, Emily received me standing up as usual.
– Good morning Miss King. – She said greeting me.
– Good morning Emily. Can you come to my office in five minutes? – I asked.
– Yes ma’am. – she replied smiling.
– Thanks. – I smiled back and went inside.
Emily was very competent as a secretary and of my entire confidence in the things of work. And so that I didn’t have the trouble of looking for someone else, I decided to invest in her so that she would be my personal assistant whenever I needed one. service that was beyond her duties as secretary.
I sat down in my chair and picked up the paper that Mr. Prince said was the document that he and my father had signed almost fourteen years ago.
– Excuse me Miss. – Emily said entering the room.
– Come on. Sit here. – I said asking her to get closer.
– How can I help you ? – she asked me as she sat in the chair facing me.
– Emily\, I want you to investigate a friendship between Charles Prince and Andrew King that started early in their academic lives. – I asked.
– Okay\, miss. Can you tell me how many years that was more or less? – she asked.
So I started to do the math mentally. My father was twenty when he started college. When he was twenty-four, I was born and died at thirty-two. Putting it all together, it’s twelve years old. passed after his death, totaling twenty-six years.
– Twenty-six years ago. – I answered.
– I’ll be back as soon as possible with what you’re looking for\, miss. – She said getting up and leaving the room.
– Thank you Emily. – I thanked her as she went through the door.
It wasn’t that I doubted what Mr. Prince had told me the night before, but I wanted to know if everything was really true. Approximately two hours after Emily left the office, she returned with a folder in her hands.
– Here you are\, miss. – she said giving me the folder.
– Thank you so much Emily. You can go now. See you tomorrow. – I talked.
– See you tomorrow and good rest\, miss. – she replied and left the room.
So I opened the folder and saw several pictures of my father with Mr. Prince when they were younger and I had a small written report.
“Andrew King and Charles Prince met when they started the business course at Diamond University and followed loyal friends until the day of Mr. King’s death. They came together because they had a common interest in the course and got along so well.”
This was enough to make me realize that the project that my father had left without being put into practice was worth exploring and being taken off the paper with his partner and friend. I was feeling relieved to know that even having a a family member who hated him a lot, a person who didn’t carry his blood treated him like a brother.
Thinking about it made tears come out of my eyes. I quickly organized my desk and put the report Emily had brought in a drawer. I grabbed my bag to go back to my room. I locked the door and texted Marshall.
“- I’m coming back to my room, honey. I’ll wait there.”
It was almost seventeen o’clock. I didn’t wait for him to answer me. I just went back to my room very quickly, lay on my bed and fell asleep with a silly smile on my lips for remembering that my father was a loved one.
