Knowing that I would become a father made me so happy that I didn’t allow myself to think clearly. Leave home with Diana as soon as possible to tell the good news to my father and my brothers. I didn’t even ask if Diana wanted to go or leave it for later.
It was only when I was already parking the car in front of my father’s house that I noticed Diana’s unease, and after turning off the car, I took one of her hands and started a brief conversation.
It was then that I realized that she was afraid of not being a good mother and also not being a good influence for our baby. The fact that she killed people in her family in the past, created a fear inside her, making she feels unable to be a good mother. And also, the fact that her powers have disappeared from nowhere, made her think that she would not be able to protect our baby.
I tried to show her in a nutshell that she is an amazing person and didn’t need those powers to do amazing things. At the moment it worked and I hope she will always remember that.
My father was already waiting for us, very curious about what we had to say. I had called before leaving the house to say we were going to his house. And when we told Diana that she was pregnant … Lorian had the paper that had the blood test result and he couldn’t help himself and ended up counting in front of us. But everyone was very happy.
We continued talking for a long time and then my father invited us to dinner. Diana was a little sick and had to go vomit. She was a little embarrassed about it, but my father showed understanding.
After dinner, we continued talking for hours and managed to tell a little about how our honeymoon had been. When we said we had brought gifts for everyone, Shauna and Sarah practically jumped on us both, they were so happy. At that moment, I regretted having rushed and told my father so quickly about Diana’s pregnancy.
– We should make a press release. – said my father.
– About what ? – Diana asked without understanding.
I already knew what it was about and I also knew that Diana would not like it at all. She was always a little upset because she was always being monitored by the press.
– Your pregnancy. – he replied.
– Yes. Everyone needs to know that the Prince family will have a new heir. – Lorian said agreeing with my father.
– Is it really necessary? – asked Diana.
– It is\, dear. – he replied.
I completely understood her side. I also didn’t like the press hanging out in my life. But because of my social position, I had to get used to it. It was really a pain in the ***.
After my father made this comment, he himself arranged for some reporters to come to his home so that he could make the big announcement himself.
– And there we go. – I said quietly so that no one would hear as we entered the conference room.
– Mr Prince\, what is the great news you have to give us? – asked a reporter without wasting time.
– I would like to inform all of you that the Prince family will have a new heir soon. My daughter-in-law is expecting a child. – informed my father in front of the cameras.
They all clapped their hands in a celebratory gesture. But they weren’t there to congratulate us. The more information they had, the better it would be for their work. And because of that, they started launching a burst of questions, one after the other. let us answer or even without letting your professional colleagues finish the question you were asking. What a lack of professionalism.
I looked at Diana and realized that she was not feeling at all comfortable with all that. She was holding one of my hands the whole time and I felt the cold sweat that was coming out of her hand. Something was happening to her. So I took a quick decision.
– Sorry\, we have nothing more to inform. For now\, that’s all. Good night everyone. – I said getting up and helping Diana out of there.
My dad didn’t understand what was going on and stayed behind to restrain the reporters. But the only thing that mattered to me was just my wife’s well being. I was still holding one of her hands as we went back to the living room.I helped her to sit on one of the sofas and I realized that she was a little breathless.
– I’m dizzy. Too dizzy. – She said when she noticed my worried look.
– What can I do to help? – I asked.
– Let’s go home\, please. – She asked me.
I just picked her up and took her to the car. I left to talk to my dad later. I started driving as fast as possible to our house and when we arrived, I picked her up again and went into our house to take it to our room.
– How can I help you sir? – asked the butler when he saw Diana in my lap.
– Just call Dr. Josh. Tell me you’re sick. – I replied while going up the stairs.
I went into our room and laid her on our bed.
– How are you ? – I asked.
– Very dizzy yet. – she replied with her eyes closed.
Suddenly I saw her head fall to the side and realized that she had passed out. I didn’t know what to do. I could only wait for Josh to arrive to examine her.
Then I felt my cell phone vibrate in my pocket. I turned on the screen and saw that it was a message from Kol.
“- Sir, Tobias King returned to Diamond City this afternoon.”
It was just what I lacked. Now I have to give it to him with the return of this guy.
