Chapter 1110
Stella was staring at the fish in the pond when her call connected.
"What's up?" Keegan's voice came from the other end of the phone. Stella returned to her senses and asked, "Why is Sevin in
our yard?"
Keegan paused and slowly said, "Didn't you say two days ago that the pond in our yard looked empty? So, I went to Grandma's
place and stole a random fish.”
Stella's face darkened when she heard that. "You took Sevin just because I mentioned the pond seemed empty? If I were to say
the yard looked empty, would you snatch Juno too?" She muttered to herself, frustrated. 'Grandma's pond is teeming with fish,
and Sevin is the biggest. And you expect me to believe it was a random catch?'
"Well, the yard isn't big enough for Juno," Keegan chuckled.
"Stop joking!" Stella said as her eyes widened. "No wonder Grandma called me and told me she couldn't find Sevin. She must've
known that you stole it! Maybe she thought I was your accomplice and called to test me! I told her I would ask you, and it turns
out the fish is here! How do you expect me to tell her that her wonderful grandson stole her baby?"
Keegan stayed silent. 'Stella is smart, but... Grandma wasn't calling to know if Sevin was at my place. She clearly called to know
if Stella was there. There was no way Grandma
didn't know when Aldor went over to get the fish. I bet Aldor mentioned something that made her call and confirm. Stella was so
busy trying to keep our relationship a secret that she didn't realize how obvious she was acting. Once Grandma told her Sevin
was missing, she immediately thought of calling me.'
Stella did not know that she had unintentionally revealed her relationship with Keegan. Looking at the huge koi in the pond, she
felt stressed out. "Hurry up and get someone to send Sevin back. Grandma is worried sick."
"I'll return the fish in a couple of days. It's just starting to get used to its new environment. We shouldn't take it out yet."
"What do I tell Grandma?"
"Just tell her that Sevin drank a witch's potion, grew a pair of legs, and ran away."
Stella's eyelids twitched at Keegan's answer. "And it fell in love with a prince, got its heart broken, and disappeared into the
water, right?"
"I don't think it would've fallen in love with a prince. Sevin's a male koi. It probably turned back into a fish after the rain and was
picked up by some random person and cooked into a fish stew," Keegan said in a serious tone. "What do you think a 30-pound
koi taste like?"
Stella was baffled by his response. "Keegan, come on."
The man chuckled and stopped teasing her. "Alright, alright.
I have some work to do. I'll call you later."
After hanging up the phone, Stella called Cordelia. The woman was relieved to hear that Sevin was at her grandson's place. "Is
Sevin adapting to the new place? He has lived his whole life here with me. I hope he's doing well. Can you send me a few
pictures of him?"
Stella was about to say ”yes" when she realized that it would mean she was at Keegan's house. So, she said, "Maybe Keegan
can do it, Grandma. I'm home right now, and I can't go visit Sevin."
"He can't. I deleted him from my contacts," said Cordelia.
Stella was confused.
"I showed Keegan my new perm, and he sent me a picture of a clown, saying my hair looked like the wig. Ugh, that punk!"
Cordelia complained.
Suddenly, Stella recalled the time when she got a perm during New Year's. She was excited to show Keegan her new hairstyle,
but the man said, "I didn't know this century- old hairstyle is back in trend."
