Chapter 1188
'What a cunning man!'
Stella had no idea what Keegan was thinking about as she said softly, ‘ We were just kids back then. How would we know
anything about love?"
Keegan glanced at her, and she quickly added, "To me, you're the most handsome man other than my brother."
Keegan was at a loss for words. 'Whatever. I don't mind losing to Trevor.’
"Why did you break up?"
"He was going aboard, and I didn't have confidence in a long-distance relationship," Stella answered.
"Is that it?" Keegan was doubtful.
Stella continued truthfully, "His father met me and said some things that made me very uncomfortable."
Keegan immediately understood what happened.
Penn Graham was a person who took social status very seriously. He probably said something harsh to Stella after learning
about her family background.
They were just a young couple who had just started dating each other without deep feelings. Also, Rainee treated Stella like a
treasure at that time. There was no way Stella would compromise herself for such a relationship.
Keegan thought about it and realized he had met Stella at the perfect time. If he were to meet her when Rainee was in good
health, he figured he might not be able to win her over with how arrogant and conceited he was. Keegan smirked with that in
mind. "What a difficult relationship you had."
Stella knew that Keegan was simply gloating. Then, she snorted softly," You wouldn't be here if it wasn't difficult."
Suddenly, Keegan remembered Felicity’s question and asked, "How far did you guys go? Did you kiss?"
Stella was speechless.
Then, she shifted the topic. "The ceremony's about to start."
Keegan's expression turned gloomy. "Was he your first kiss?"
Stella felt a headache coming on. "What could high school students like us do? We only kissed each other's cheeks. Is that
considered a first kiss?"
Keegan smoked with anger. 'I knew I shouldn't have asked! I'm even more bothered now!'
Stella could not help but find it amusing after seeing how angry Keegan got because of her.
"Keegan, you're such a fool. I didn't choose to be with him eight years ago; what makes you think that I'd still have feelings for
him after so long? Your mother offered me money to leave you back then, but I didn't take it. However, if his father did the same
thing, I'd take the money without a doubt."
Keegan paused. "What did you say?"
"I won't leave you," Stella said.
Keegan asked, "Did you say my mother offered you money?"
Stella sighed. "It was a long time ago. We just got married that time, and your mother offered me five million to divorce you."
Keegan's expression darkened. He would be completely unaware of this if Stella did not mention it.
If he had known earlier, he would surely suspect something was wrong with Dahlia's "secret method to conceive", and Stella
would never have had to suffer the way she did.
Keegan suppressed his discomfort and said, "Were you not tempted by the five million?"
"To be honest, a little."
Keegan's eyelid twitched. He was about to say something, but he heard Stella continuing, "However, I hadn't slept with you at
that time. That was why I didn’t take it."
Keegan was speechless. Just a few words from Stella had eased his jealousy. He extended his finger and hooked Stella's hand
gently. ’Let's talk about it later.'
Meanwhile, Hylda was getting her makeup done in the dressing room. Her tummy was getting bigger, so she decided to wear a
flowy maxi dress instead of a wedding dress.
The makeup artist complimented her while styling her hair, "Mrs. Jewell, out of all the brides I've done makeup for, you have the
best skin."
The makeup artist figured she could receive more tips from the client by saying flattering words on a joyous occasion like this.
However, Hylda was not having that at all. Instead, she was a little annoyed. "You can leave if you're done. I want some time
alone."
The makeup artist's mouth twitched as she cursed inwardly. 'What a stingy woman.' Then, she left with a sulky face.
After that, Hylda immediately made a phone call. "How is it going? Is it done?"
