Chapter 1218
Carter replied: [According to Lena's remark, the angle of her injection was from top to bottom. However, most people would do it
from bottom to top when self-injecting. Also, the injection site was on her upper arm. It just doesn't seem right, even though she
had a habit of injecting from up to down.]
Keegan frowned: [Why is there no further investigation into this?]
Carted replied: [That's because no other person’s hair or fingerprints were found at the scene. Her family was not bothered to
claim her body either. Cases like these usually go unresolved, and you know it too. Besides, there wasn't even a suspect
involved in this case, and there's not much the prosecutor can do.]
Keegan pursed his lips without replying. It was terrifying that something was suspicious, but no physical evidence could be
found.
Carter thought about something and sent another text to Keegan: [Oh, by the way, your wife's disguise last time was pretty good.
I can't believe you couldn't recognize her after sitting at the same table for so long. Lena is curious to know her makeup artist, as
she wants one of her team members to learn from them to improve undercover investigations and avoid being detected.]
Keegan kept quiet.
Stella saw Trevor making a phone call in the lobby, dressed casually in a shirt and trousers as soon as she entered The Deli. His
outfit seemed more relaxed and simple compared to the previous times she had seen him.
Stella sized him up and realized... that there were indeed some resemblances between them. She finally realized why Felicity
always used to say that Trevor looked familiar.
As she was still lost in her thoughts, Trevor turned around and walked toward her. Stella tightened her grip on her bag and stood
in place, feeling a little uneasy. However, Trevor gently held her wrist and said, "Come with me."
Stella pursed her lips and followed him like a little kid. After getting into the elevator, Trevor finally turned to look at her. Stella
was wearing a cap and a mask, so he could only see her eyes. However, those eyes were enough to fill Trevor's heart with a
bitter feeling.
He reached out to gently brushed Stella's long hair behind her shoulder and said softly, "Grandpa and Grandma can be too
friendly sometimes. Just tell me if you feel uncomfortable and want to leave later. I'll take you home, and they won't have a
problem with it."
Stella paused and felt a lump in her throat.
She realized that besides Keegan and Rainee, there were still others who still cared about her feelings and looked forward to
reuniting with her.
Suddenly, her heart was filled with warmth as she lowered her gaze. She chuckled and said softly, "Bro, I may not be as chatty
as them later, but it doesn't mean I don't like them."
Trevor was taken aback. He smiled and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "Welcome home, Charmie."
Stella was taken aback. Then, she softly asked after Trevor let go of her," Charmie? Is that my original name?"
Trevor took the gift, which was prepared by Keegan, from Stella's hand. He spoke warmly, "It's the nickname Mom gave you
back then before we gave you a real name because we didn't know if you would be a boy or girl. It would be Charlie if you were a
boy."
As Trevor pondered the past, he couldn't believe what had happened. Back then, they had lost both the mother and the baby.
But the real shock came much later when they discovered that the baby had not actually passed away; instead, it had been
switched with another.
'Charmie... What a beautiful name. The Sauns must be looking forward to this child's arrival.'
They got off the elevator, and Trevor led her to the door of a private room. Then, he knocked on it and pushed it open.
Stella, come on in." He turned around and said with a smile.
