Chapter 1345
Vermont’s voice possessed a captivating allure. With each word he spoke, Felicity would blush harder.
As he said those words, he had already taken a few steps forward to pin Felicity against the wall.
He lowered his gaze and looked at her. His eyes were filled with sincerity and was eager to know what Felicity was thinking.
Then, he softly asked, "What's your answer?"
Felicity's heart was at her throat, as she had never experienced anything like this before.
In the past, the boys who liked her in school would never confess to her, and they would lose contact with each other right after
graduating.
So, this was the first time that someone had confessed to her.
Vermont was so straightforward and direct that it left her heart in chaos.
She just realized that she might like him a little yesterday, and now he was confessing his feelings to her so directly.
She found it hard to accept that things progressed so quickly in such a short time. So, she stuttered again, "Wh- What answer..."
Vermont smiled as his dimples appeared at the corner of his lips, making him look both handsome and charismatic.
He spoke again in a gentler tone. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
Felicity's head was in a mess, as she was not sure if she would be fine with dating someone that had erectile dysfunction...
"Felicity?"
Vermont got a little anxious. He could hold himself back last night, but he changed his mind after experiencing what happened.
He figured that it would probably take Felicity a very long time to realize that he had feelings for her, so he did not want to risk
losing her to another person.
"I... I don't want to..."
Vermont froze, as his face turned slightly pale. Then, he asked with his shivering lips, "What did you say?"
Felicity clenched her fists and avoided his gaze. She lowered her head like an ostrich, as she stuttered again, "l-l don't have
those feelings for you. l-l think we should just stay as friends."
Her words left Vermont devastated. That was his first time getting a taste of rejection.
His heart trembled, as he tried to suppress his emotions." Don't you... like me at all?" he asked in a deep voice.
Felicity's heart felt uneasy upon hearing that, but she simply could not think straight. Vermont's unexpected confession, his
current condition, and her own complicated emotions all hit her at once. She was unable to handle all of them at once, so she
could only resort to avoidance.
"It's not that, but... I just... I see you as a good friend, like how I see Stella, my best friend."
"Best friend..." Vermont mumbled.
When he realized he had feelings for Felicity at the very beginning, he already knew that he would not succeed that easily.
Felicity had her own preferences and the type of guys she liked. And Vermont was not one of them.
Despite his efforts to keep her close to him and thinking that he would have a better chance of winning her over that way, he still
failed miserably.
Vermont's Adam's apple bobbed, as he swallowed. It took him a while to speak again. "I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable."
He took a step back as he spoke, and his expression did not look as passionate as before. Instead, it turned cold and distant as
if he had suddenly put up a barrier between them. Then, he said, "Just forget about everything I said. Let's just go back to how
things were before."
Felicity was taken aback, as she subconsciously tugged at her clothes.
'Go back to how things were before...
Before when?
'When we didn't know each other, or when we were pretending to be a couple?'
Felicity turned to Vermont.
'He would always offer to help. I'm sure he would help Stella carry her stuff too if she was here.'
