Chapter 1361
Vermont just said that Felicity was not his girlfriend.
Truthfully, she was not. They were just pretending to be a couple back then, and she even rejected his confession.
Everything that he said was true.
However, this very fact made her highly embarrassed.
Vermont had just hugged and kissed her last night while whispering her name softly.
She just could not believe that he would deny everything the next morning, claiming that they were just really good friends.
She had just made up her mind to accept him despite his condition, yet he did something so shocking to her!
He even defended the prostitute!
Felicity got so angry that her face turned pale, as she clenched her lips tightly without saying anything.
The police officer gave Vermont a strange look.
'He just asked me what his girlfriend's reaction was when we barged in, yet he said that she's not his girlfriend now that she's
here.'
Although the police officer could not understand why he was doing that, it did not hinder the police from investigating the case.
The surveillance cameras captured Vermont going in and out of the club, and his friends there could also testify on his behalf.
So, the truth was evident.
Everything turned out to be just a misunderstanding after a night of hassle. The police officer could not help but say to Felicity,
"Make sure you know the facts of everything before you call the police next time. Look how awkward things are now."
Felicity kept a tense face and remained silent.
Vermont chimed in and said, "My friend was just very worried. We're sorry for causing you trouble."
The police officer did not say anything more after seeing how cooperative Vermont was. So, he asked for Vermont's signature to
close the case.
As they left the police station, Vermont turned to Felicity and asked, "Did we make a lot of noise last night, and we bothered
you?"
Felicity clenched her fists tight and looked at him. "No. It's just that I hadn't met her before and didn't know who she was. That's
why I called the police. I wouldn't have
interfered if I knew that she was such a close friend to you."
Vermont scrutinized her expression, and he lowered his gaze. "I'm sorry. I'll be more mindful next time."
Felicity's heart sank.
'Be more mindful next time?
What does he mean?
'He'll be more mindful when he brings another woman home next time?'
Felicity almost laughed out of anger but managed to keep a calm expression. "There's no need for that. It's your place, after all.
You can do whatever you want. You don't have to tell me about it."
Vermont was about to say something, but Emily came out of the police station and said in a gentle voice, "Vermont, are you
okay?"
Then, she lightly pounded her shoulder and added, "The chair was so hard. It's making me sore all over."
Vermont pursed his lips and glanced at her without saying anything.
Emily knew that Vermont had testified for her and that was the reason why she could be released. So, she thought that Vermont
was interested in her and pretended to be even more vulnerable in front of him.
"Vermont, your aunt is so busybody. She could've just asked me to leave if she didn't want me there. Why did she have to call
the police? My God... Isn't that just causing trouble for the police?"
Felicity swept her gaze across Emily. "Stop babbling. Don't you know how to keep your mouth shut? Your voice is so annoying!"
Her words left Emily fuming.
Very soon, the cab that Felicity booked had arrived.
She looked at Vermont and said in a stern voice, "The cab is here. Let's go home!"
Vermont stood still. "You go ahead. I'll send her off," he said softly.
Felicity choked and gritted her teeth. "Whatever!" i
