Chapter 1631
Stella's eyes were filled with tears, as she looked around in confusion. She saw Trevor sitting at the foot of the bed, gently
applying ointment to her injured feet while Felicity was sleeping in a nearby chair.
Stella then glanced at the window and noticed that the room was brightly lit. It was a stark contrast to the pitch- black darkness in
her dreams. Her body ached all over, and she could still feel the lingering chill in her bones.
Stella withdrew her gaze, looked at Trevor, and softly called out his name.
Her voice caught her by surprise; it came out hoarse and strained. Trevor jolted at the sound and looked at her abruptly.
"Stella, you're awake. How are you feeling? Do you need anything? Are you in pain? Are you thirsty or hungry?" Trevor was
emotional. His words were stumbling over each other.
Felicity, who had been dozing off, was now wide awake. She jumped up from her chair and rushed over while being almost on
the verge of tears. "Stella! You're finally awake! I was so scared that you wouldn't wake up."
Stella's throat was dry, making it hard for her to speak.
Felicity quickly handed her a cup of water, and Stella took a few sips before gently pushing it away.
"You should rest up while I get the doctor," Trevor said in a comforting tone.
But Stella stopped him. "Trevor, where's Keegan? How is he doing?" she asked with a concerned expression.
Trevor lowered his eyes and tucked her in. "His injuries are more serious than yours. They've taken him to the Salcator."
Stella's lips turned pale. She looked frail, but her eyes were sharp. She stared at Trevor for a moment before glancing at Felicity.
Felicity did not have the best acting skills, so she averted her gaze. She let out a cough and said, "Trevor, why don't you stay
with Stella while I get the doctor?" With that, she hurried away.
That was when Stella's eyes returned to her brother. "Trevor, can I have my phone? I need to call Aldor."
Trevor hesitated and said, "Your phone was damaged during the incident. We haven't had a chance to replace it yet."
"Then, may I borrow yours? I remember Aldor's number," she insisted.
Trevor fell silent. As each second passed, the weight of Stella's concern deepened. The chilling fear from her dream crept back
in and gnawed at her heart in an instant.
Suddenly, she sat up and pulled off the IV from the back of her hand. She then tossed back the covers and tried to get out of
bed. Since her injuries had not healed yet, she almost fell to her knees as soon as her feet touched the ground. However, she
ignored the pain and staggered forward. Her
face grew paler, as she attempted to make her way out.
Trevor was momentarily caught off guard by her actions. He quickly caught up to her and held her back. Stella struggled to break
free, causing Trevor to wrap his arms around her." You need to rest. Where do you think you're going?"
Stella's voice tinged with urgency. "Didn't you say that Keegan is in Salcator? I need to go there and see him."
Trevor's heart ached at the sound of that. He held Stella even closer and tried to talk to her, but Stella interrupted his words.
"Trevor, please let go of me. I must see him. He must hate me for not holding onto him when we were in the water. I need to
explain myself. Please."
She continued to struggle and started to choke up. "Trevor, please. I'll just observe him from afar if he doesn't want to see me.
Just one look, and I'll come back. Please let me do this. The water was so cold; he must have been terrified..."
This shattered Trevor's heart. Stella was in a sensitive state, as she had witnessed Keegan's ordeal firsthand. Wenham's
explanation for his absence simply would not suffice.
