Chapter 1658
When she got lost during a vacation once, Aurora remembered the relief on Keegan's face when he finally managed to find her
under the scorching sun, drenched in sweat.
She remembered when the laboratory caught fire, Keegan had saved her and kept repeating, "It's okay," as they escaped from
the flames.
She remembered that no matter what she wished for on her birthday, Keegan would do everything in his power to make it
happen.
Then, she thought about Keegan, who might still be immersed in the icy river, yet their mother s only concern was the will. She
could not bear it anymore and came up with an excuse to leave.
Three days had passed, but it felt like an eternity for Stella. However, she felt somewhat relieved because there was still no news
from the rescue team.
For now, no news was the best news for her.
Stella woke up very early in the morning. After she changed and went downstairs, she bumped into Jaylene, who had just
returned home.
Jaylene had not come home last night. To be precise, she had rarely been at home for the past few days.
Darcie said that Jaylene went to spend time with her friend who had just returned from overseas, but Stella remained skeptical
about it.
She guessed that Jaylene probably had a boyfriend. They were still in their honeymoon phase, so they wanted to spend as much
time as possible with each other.
'Is it normal for her to forget about someone so easily?'
Stella paused as she thought, 'The person she likes is still missing, yet she still has the mood to hang out with her friend. Is that
normal?'
As she thought about that, her gaze turned somewhat doubtful as she looked at Jaylene.
Jaylene looked drained. After she greeted Stella, she headed straight to her room upstairs.
"Jaylene," Stella called out to her, "Is your classmate still here?"
Jaylene smiled, "My classmate plans to stay here for another two weeks. So, we want to make the most of our time left."
Do you want me to show your friend around? You've spent so much time abroad, and you might not be very familiar with the city.
I've grown up here and know which streets have the best eateries. Since your classmate will only return once in a long time, I'd
be happy to show him around."
Jaylene was taken aback. As she looked at the gentle expression on Stella's face, she said, "It's fine. You're
probably not in a good mood these days anyway. I'll just take them to wherever I'm familiar with."
Stella smiled back, "Are you sure? It had happened for so many days now. I'm starting to accept it already."
Jaylene scrutinized Stella and could not figure out what she was thinking.
"Okay then. I'll let them know about it. If you're free tomorrow, we'll make plans."
"Sure." Stella nodded.
Once Jaylene went upstairs, Stella's expression turned cold. Then, she took out her phone and called Felicity, "Felicity, I need
your help..." 1
In Vinci Rivera, the executives were having a meeting.
Compared to the evenly matched competition three weeks ago, the balance had shifted along with Keegan's disappearance.
Chandler and Jackson taking over Vinci Rivera was almost a done deal. Many people had decided to switch sides, offering them
their full support.
Meanwhile, on Keegan's side, they had lost their backbone. Though his team was still intact, their morale had taken a significant
hit.
"Mr. Kane, it's about time. Let's begin."
Just as Chandler was about to nod, Aldor said, "Wait a moment. Our team's leader will arrive shortly."
Everyone was shocked upon hearing that.
'What does that mean? Is Keegan back?' They wondered to themselves.
