Chapter 1777
Wenham's expression soured abruptly as he spoke with a trembling voice," Never. I won't allow such a thing to happen again!"
A heavy silence fell over everyone. Freesia's death had left an indelible mark on both families, and it remained a haunting
memory for everyone on the call.
Daryl intervened, "Let's respect Stella's wishes. In any case, it doesn't involve Darcie and Jaylene."
Daryl's words were direct. Wenham appeared to want to respond, but he remained silent.
Then, Daryl asked Leighton, who had just rejoined the call, to support Stella whenever possible.
Stella found it amusing.
Then, she thought to herself. 'Leighton is a superstar now. I'm worried his fans might track me down and confront me if they find
out he has run errands for me.'
Later that day, Trevor hurried back home and stayed there.
As bedtime approached, he knocked on Stella's door.
She was packing, though there wasn't much to pack. Despite moving back to the Saun residence, most of her belongings
remained at Clouditude International.
Trevor handed her the neatly arranged clothes on the bed and asked,' Have you decided?"
Stella took them and replied, "Yeah."
Trevor let out a sigh. "With Keegan's current state and everything happening in his family, I'm really concerned that..." "Trevor,"
Stella interrupted, closing her bag and sitting beside him. "That's precisely why I want to stay there. I can't leave him alone. It's
the only way I can be with him now that he doesn't remember me."
Understanding how much Keegan meant to Stella, Trevor grumbled softly to himself before dropping the topic. Instead, he
inquired about Stella's work.
The movie she'd signed for, The Enclosure, had its shooting schedule pushed to next year due to various issues. But with Stella
being pregnant, her family worried about her health. Hence, Trevor suggested postponing filming until after she gave birth.
Stella shook her head. "Trevor, we've already arranged venue rentals, and everyone adjusted their schedules. I wouldn't feel
right if everyone's plans changed because of me." "But don't you really like this script?" Trevor asked.
Stella chuckled. "There will be other great scripts. It's okay to pass on this one."
Trevor then offered, 'TH talk to the director and production team to find a replacement for you." "Tell the director to consider
Nicole for the role." Stella believed that if anyone her age could portray the role effectively, it was Nicole.
Even though Stella wouldn't be involved in the production anymore, Trevor had invested significantly in the movie to potentially
earn her an award. She still hoped for the movie’s success.
Considering Nicole's influence in the industry, it seemed like a worthwhile attempt.
Trevor agreed and added, "I'm leaving the day after tomorrow. I'll probably return on New Year's Eve. When I'm away, call
Leighton if you need anything. Despite his temper and straightforwardness, he's quite capable."
Stella recalled the last time Trevor planned to travel abroad when she and Keegan were kidnapped. He had stayed in Rivera to
assist her in searching for Keegan and dealing with Chandler.
Reflecting on that, Stella asked softly, "Trevor, are you going to address the same matter as before?"
Trevor nodded.
With New Year's Eve just a week away, Stella pondered what could be so urgent that it required immediate attention.
Stella noticed Trevor's furrowed brows and suddenly asked, "Any progress on the investigation into why I was abducted?"
Trevor paused, meeting Stella's gaze, and gave a slight nod.
Understanding the urgency behind his departure, Stella thought, 'Seems like this lead is crucial.' "Trevor, when's your flight? I'll
see you off," Stella offered.
Trevor declined, shaking his head. "It's okay. I've told everyone it's a business trip. It'll draw unwanted attention if you come."
'Whose attention?' Stella wondered, feeling perplexed.
