Chapter 1860
"Wenham said, "We're not going to Mystonia anymore."
"What?" Darcie was puzzled.
Wenham continued happily, "Trevor is back. He didn’t board the plane that crashed. For some reason, he took another flight. He
was on that plane, so he couldn't call us."
Darcie's expression changed slightly. She could not help but tighten her grip on the phone as she asked softly, "Are you saying
that Trevor is safe? Is he with you now?"
"Yeah, I'll let him speak to you for a while," Wenham said before handing the phone to Trevor.
Before Darcie could recollect herself, Trevor’s voice came through, "Darcie, it's me."
Darcie's heart skipped a beat. After a long pause, she said," I'm glad you're back. You'll never know how terrified we were when
we received that phone call from the embassy yesterday. We thought that you were... It's great that you're safe now. I'll have
Sandra prepare some extra dishes when you come home with your dad. It's New Year's Eve today; let's have dinner together.
Forget about the bad things that had happened."
Trevor smiled lightly, barely noticeable, "Thank you, Darcie. We'll be home very soon."
Darcie then told them to be careful on the road before hanging up.
After that, she felt uneasy.
She paced back and forth in the room. After thinking about it for a long time, she dialed a number on her phone.
As soon as the call connected, a man's voice came from the other end, "Darcie..."
She immediately said with a stern face, "Trevor's back."
The man paused before exclaiming anxiously, "How is that possible? I saw him board that plane with my own eyes."
"Just shut up already!" Darcie's expression turned unpleasant, "I told you not to do these unnecessary things. Why didn't you
listen to me? Why did you have to act against Trevor?"
The man spoke roughly, "He's already onto the nurse. If I don't do anything, he will trace it back to me sooner or later!"
Darcie responded coldly, "How could that happen? Even the police can't do that! Are you forgetting who you are now?
"That nurse doesn't know anything. So what if Trevor met her? You're the one who made things worse! If someone tampered
with his plane, do you think that he wouldn't connect it to the investigation he was conducting? You're so stupid!"
The man remained silent for some time, his heavy breathing expressing dissatisfaction.
After a while, he asked, "Why are you so scared of me acting against Trevor? He's Wenham's son, not yours. Do you really think
you're his mother after raising him for so many years? Or are you too comfortable with your current life and want to continue
being Mrs. Saun?"
Darcie's expression darkened, "What nonsense are you talking about?"
"You know very well what I'm talking about! If Trevor is gone, Stella will be the only one we have to deal with. She’s not going to
pose any threat to us. That old thing is not even bothered to hide his favoritism, so why are you still so worried about his son? I
think you're living too comfortably and have forgotten about the past." i
Darcie clenched her fists tight, still feeling angry. Then, after a long pause, she said, "I know you're doing this for Jaylene, but
now is not the right time to act. What you did raised suspicion, and with how Trevor is, he will surely investigate this matter
thoroughly. You might not care about what
would happen to you, but have you thought about Jaylene?"
The man was taken aback and remained silent.
"Don't forget what you said to me when you accepted everything back then. You'd better not tell me that you regret it now!"
The man kept quiet. After some time, he finally spoke, "I'm just worried. I don't feel good when I see Jaylene getting mistreated
like that. As long as you and Jaylene can have a good life, I don't mind staying anonymous for the rest of my life..." 6
