Chapter 2046
Stella was taken aback. She had always viewed this matter from her and Trevor's perspective, neglecting to consider it from
Wenham's viewpoint.
She had to acknowledge that Wenham marrying her late mother’s best friend had stirred a sense of discomfort within her.
However, Stella hadn't been present to witness the events that unfolded back then, nor did she understand the circumstances
surrounding Wenham's marriage to Darcie.
There were six years between Stella's mom dying and Wenham getting married again. Only Wenham knew how hard those
years were.
Wenham had been a widower with a kid and a sick mom back then. Darcie helped them a lot. Wenham's mom worried about him
being alone after she died, so she wanted him to marry Darcie, who was nice and could help with the household.
Stella thought maybe Wenham meant there were things he couldn't change. Perhaps he didn't want to upset his sick mom and
couldn't bring himself to leave a woman who had helped him so much, even risking her life.
She wondered if Wenham let Darcie take charge to ease his guilt.
Stella didn't know how Darcie felt about Wenham, but she was sure Darcie understood him.
She walked up to Wenham and hugged him. "Dad," she said softly.
Wenham looked at her.

Stella patted his back. "Dad, you've raised Trevor so well. And you found me, making our family whole again. You're the best."
Tears filled Wenham's eyes as he turned away, trying to hold back his feelings. After a long pause, he said, "Having a daughter is
always better than having a son. Trevor just gets on my nerves."
Stella chuckled. "I'll find him a girlfriend to keep him in line.”
"Make sure she's tough," Wenham suggested.
Stella joked, "Sure, well find someone who's into mixed martial arts. If he ever annoys you again, she can give him a scare."
But Wenham felt guilty. "She doesn't have to be an expert. Just someone who can intimidate him a bit."
Stella couldn't stop laughing at that.
Wenham packed his clothes and asked quietly, "Are you purposely sending us out of the country? Every time I tried to talk just
now, you stuffed a walnut in my mouth."
It was only when Stella handed him the walnut for the second time that he realized she was trying to silence him.
Stella replied softly, "Yeah. I was worried I wouldn't do as well as Jaylene when I joined the company and I'd embarrass myself in
front of Darcie. I don't want to make a fool of myself."
Wenham was speechless.
He started at Stella for a few seconds before saying, "You've got your mother's genes of always brushing people off. The excuse
you came up with is terrible."
Stella didn't say anything in response.
After helping Wenham pack his luggage, Stella went back to her room and gathered some things. Then, she came downstairs to
have a meal with Wenham before heading back to Royalpark Villa.
When Aurora returned to Royalpark Villa, Stella was in the living room, counting her clothes, and Keegan was packing them into
a dust bag.
Aurora paused and walked over to check things out. She realized they were all high-end brand clothes from different collections,
which must have cost a lot.
Her eyes lit up as she looked at Keegan. "Keegan, can I have some?" she asked.
Keegan nodded toward Stella. "I didn't buy them. Ask her."
Aurora was surprised. 'Ask her for clothes to wear? No way!'
As she turned away from the clothes and started to head upstairs, Stella stopped her. "Help me iron those, and I'll give you some
of these clothes."
