Chapter 962
Stella kept quiet.
Carter's cheeks hurt while trying to hold back his laughter.
He looked at Lena and asked with his gaze, "Look, I told you he wouldn't recognize her, didn't I?"
Lena took a sip of her tea and said in a low voice, "Keegan is nearsighted. The lighting here is so dim and he's sitting so far
away from her. That's probably why he cant get a good look at her.’
Then, she added, "Stella disguised herself well too."
Stella was so good at changing the way she spoke that it was simply difficult for a normal person to tell that it was actually her.
In fact, Lena was right. Keegan was nearsighted and he could not see clearly.
He did not look at Stella carefully at all. Everything that his eyes told him was a woman with really heavy makeup on well-defined
features that somehow looked familiar to him. All he cared about was whether Marshall had regained his memory, and he just did
not have the mood to pay so much attention to Stella's face.
Stella was annoyed as it had been so long, yet that idiot Keegan still could not recognize her!
She was still feeling a little playful before, but she began to feel her blood boiling.
'He said that he would recognize me no matter what! What a liar!'
Stella swept his gaze across the man who was eating with his head down. Then, she suddenly hooked her foot onto Keegan's
leg.
Keegan immediately stood up as if he was electrified.
He moved so abruptly that even the table shook.
Stella looked at him innocently.
Keegan started at her with an ugly expression on his face as if he was angry, yet he had no idea how to express it. Then, he said
coldly, "I'm going to the washroom."
He pushed his chair away and strode away from the table.
Stella looked at him before standing up and said, "Excuse me."
After that, she left her seat too.
Felicity immediately stood up, but Vermont grabbed her wrist before she could walk away. "Come with me. I have questions for
you."
Felicity wanted to pull her hand back instinctively.
However, Vermont tightened his grip and wrapped his arm around her shoulder as he said in a threatening tone, "You're going to
work for a new company. Do you still want me to boost your resume?"
Felicity paused and stared at him. "You have no dignity!"
Vermont smirked. "Dignity doesn't earn you money."
Corbin asked after he saw them whispering and holding each other like that, "Felicity, are you okay?"
Vermont spoke before Felicity could say anything. "This is a private conversation between cousins. Stay out of this, outsider."
Then, he grabbed Felicity, who was grumbling, and left.
On the other side, Keegan bumped right into Stella in the hallway as soon as he came out of the washroom.
He frowned and wanted to walk past her.
Stella moved quickly and stood in his way.
"Mr. Kane, it's not right for you to just walk away like this, isn't it?"
Keegan did not even bother to look at her. "Step aside!"
Stella remained still and even leaned toward him. "My feet are sore. Would you please help me?"
Keegan could not suppress his anger anymore as he shoved her away." Please behave yourself!"
"Ouch!" Stella knocked herself into the wall and groaned in pain, exposing her disguise.
Keegan paused and looked at her in disbelief.
Stella rubbed her arm. She did not notice the look on Keegan's face as she continued to speak in the same tone as she did
earlier. "Mr. Kane, are you always this rough with women?"
